I fucking loved it. I HATE Gordon Ramsay. It’s about time someone said ENOUGH.
Gordon Ramsay doesn’t train you to be a good chef, he trains you to be sumbissive and fearful in the kitchen.
I have been waiting for someone to look at the British peice of shit, and say, in effect, YOU ARE A COWARD.
Joseph did it!
Anyone that is skilled in an area, be it computer programming, a surgeon, a painter, a chef, or whatever, and surrounds himself with young apprentices who are eager to learn, and then swears at them and calls them idiots and donkeys and bitches, is a LOSER.
GOOD FOR YOU, JOSEPH. You showed that you want to be a great chef, but you won’t let another human being treat you like shit in the process! You have a grand career ahead of you — trust me, Gordon Ramsay is seen as a joke in the culinary arts!

Adam, seriously?
Did this idiot Joseph person not ever watch a single episode of Hell’s Kitchen before agreeing to go on the show? If you “ain’t no bitch” and don’t want to be talked to like that, then Hell’s Kitchen is NOT for you. It isn’t like any of these people are FORCED to go on the show. They choose to go on it, knowing what the show is like and knowing how Ramsay talks to contestants.

Adam – you obviously don’t get it. This is a job interview for a job that most chefs would never even get near. Ramsay is pushing these chefs to be the best that they can be in the most of a high presssured atmosphere. In other words, he is traing others to be as he – since he will be their potential boss. If Jospeh is legit, he will NEVER get a job more than a short order cook. Use some analytical thought buddy!

I mostly agree with Adam, except for the “British piece of shit” part, assholes come from all nationalities. Gordon Ramsay is a coward and a fraud regardless of how many Michelin stars he bullied his way into. Ramsay treats people that way because he’s pissed off about his failed soccer (football) career, and takes it out on his employees. Finally, a bigger bully showed up to call him out, and Ramsay hides behind security like the “bitch” he is.
To be fair, Joseph is a testosterone-crazed ticking time bomb who was ready to fight somebody, anybody. The producers should have known this.
Melissa and Craig B.- Seriously? There are a lot of people out there who have a problem with Ramsay and his attitude, throwing food in people’s face, insulting them constantly. Ramsay is not a real chef, he is an actor who is famous for being pissed off and happens to own a few restaurants. If I saw Ramsay on the street, I wouldn’t hesitate to punch him in the face and I’d gladly do the 90 days in jail or whatever, it would be worth it. Stay out of Ohio, Ramsay, you’re not welcome here.

Teachers should always be friendly and gentle to their students. As we have seen from the English nanny who showed us that there is no need to shout and be mean to get children to listen and obey you. Ramsey is giving a bad example to Joseph and the viewers. If Joseph had “graduated” under Ramsey he’s going to perpetuate this bad attitude where harsh words are used as whips to force you to get respect. Maybe there is something good for him that he’s booted off the show.

One more thing Adam. You will find more people to be against you because Ramsey is the host and star of this show so obviously there’s going to be more of his fans to defend him. Besides he will always have a podium where he can just paint a beautiful picture of himself and the lemmings would worship him.

Joseph, i think, is the most intelligent and with the most good sense. Second is Jim. How do you expect everyone to focus and do a good job of cooking if Ramsey keeps on flaming everyone and turning up the heat for the sake of good television.
Food is not just for the body but for the soul as well. How do you expect to create a positive environment if the food itself is borne out of HELL!
This is all nonsense. But that’s hollywood for ya.

I read joseph was in the marines so he shouldn’t have any problems with being yelled at. The military basic training instructors will yell at you to get their points across; it gives them an idea of how some one will react under pressure but they aren’t unfeeling authoritarians. Joseph simply didn’t answer the question and showed he could not follow a simple instruction so how can he be relied upon to run a whole restaurant? Whether you like Gordon Ramsey or not isn’t the point.

I agree with Pete. I simply cannot understand why there are morons out there who agree with that idiot Joseph’s point of view. True, Gordon Ramsey yells at the contestants and swears at them and belittles them – but so what? You have a problem with that? Cause you’re a little girl who wants tea and crumpets and pillows and roses? Rocketman pointed at the English Nanny who uses soft words to get children to behave. Dumbass. These people are not children. Yes, you have to train children how to behave with soft words – then they are trained. Adults do not have to be trained to behave. They’re in the running to become a world class chef at one of Ramsey’s restaurants. Back to the incident. Gordon asked Joseph a simple question – “Who and why?” – and Joseph reacted violently. “They know why they were picked.” Sure, they do, because they were in the room with the discussion. Gordon wanted to hear from the team why the team decided those two were picked – to see if their reasons matched his. And at exactly what point did Gordon call him a bitch for him to react defensively as such? Earlier, when the men won the challenge and got the reward of lunch out with Gordon, Joseph even told him that “this isn’t what I’m here for.” True, you’re here to compete for the job, but dude, take a fucking moment to relax and enjoy a well earned break. If you take all the fun and rewards out of this job, you’re gonna crack under the pressure and you won’t last a day. Anybody who agress with Joseph or that poster Adam is not intelligent at all. Scott, you say Gordon is not a real chef, just an actor. Um…have you ever seen the show? Or Kitchen Nightmares? Where he…um…geez, what’s the word…COOKS? And creates dishes? Apparently not. You also claim he was hiding behind his security. Did you not notice that he didn’t even take a step back? He stood his ground. Maybe you’re just jealous that you weren’t picked to go on the show? Or you’re harboring a wishful closet moment with Gordon? Or maybe you’re just an idiot who doesn’t know anything about anything? It’s people like you who make the internet dumber and dumber.because you don’t get all your facts before you start attacking. Shut up and go away.

Completely agree with Rico. Gordon Ramsey has high standards, as all Michelin stars chefs do. He’s good for tv because he creates sensationalism by tormenting his apprentices, and losing his temper. It’s not always nice to hear, but anyone who’s actually seen the show knows for sure that : 1. He CAN cook (I wouls pay a lot to taste his signature fish stew) ! Definitely !
And 2. he doesn’t rattle your cage unless you really are being a very bad cook (Think of some rare moments with Lacey or Van, sweating in the food… yheark !).
I especially like the way he treats his students as the show goes along. For exemple, when they win a challenge, or when they are doing a good job, CONCENTRATING and being very existential of the chance they are getting !!! I mean, jeeez, you have the chance of a lifetime ! FOCUS !
People love him for the same reasons other people like Simon on Idol. He tells it like it is. And when he gives out a compliment, it’s not free !
When he goes around a kitchen refridgerator in Nightmares, or a restaurant bathroom, and he finds piss all over the wall, that person needs to be yelled at ! We are a society with basic needs. FOOD ! And people entrust others to fill those needs with their energy. CLEAN energy ! When it is not done remotely right, without any effort, he gets pissed off, and I would too !
Genuinely one of the best reality shows out there.
