Warriors Coach Steve Kerr Admits To Smoking Marijuana For Back Pain Everybody knows Cali got that bomb weed , and apparently Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr is one of those everybodies. In a recent appearance on the The Warriors Insider podcast , he admitted to taking a few puffs of the piff to cope with his chronic back pain. No pun intended. Obviously none of his players could publicly admit such a thing, but coach Kerr believes that pro leagues need to lighten up on the loud. Again, there is no pun here. “I could even get in some trouble for this, but I’ve actually tried (marijuana) twice during the last year and a half when I’ve been going through this pain, this chronic pain that I’ve been dealing with.” “I don’t even know if I’m subject to a drug test or any laws from the NBA, but I tried it and it didn’t help at all. But it was worth it, because I’m searching for answers on pain.” Kerr is right, he may not be under the NBA’s drug testing policy and to our knowledge there has never been a coach tested.
