Disney star Ashley Tisdale works out regularly and follows a high-protein, low-carb diet in order to stay in shape and keep her energy up for her hectic work schedule. But what she really enjoys is working out with BFF Vanessa Hudgens.
“Vanessa and I always have so much fun working out together,” Tisdale, 24, tells OK! “It’s definitely fun to hang out with your girlfriends, and to go workout, especially when it’s an early morning class!”
Ashley keeps herself lean and strong by working out with a personal trainer and exercising at home to Piloxing DVDs.
“It’s Pilates and boxing put together,” she says. “I always make time for it, because not only is it healthy for you, but it also relieves my stress. I’m so busy doing stuff and I get stressed a lot that working out takes me away from that.”
What else does Tisdale do? “I usually do 30-40 minutes on elliptical, and then the DVD Piloxing for an hour,” says Ashey. “I work out to build a little muscle because I’ve always been very thin.”
Tisdale uses a common sensical approach to her diet. “You want to eat more protein and limit the carbs,” she says. “Sunday’s my day off, where I eat whatever I want. I don’t not let myself have something. I do love French fries and bread.”
Ashley always makes sure she starts her day off with a good breakfast. “Breakfast is my favorite meal,” she says. “I have a big breakfast. I love omelets in the morning. I love turkey bacon. I eat a lot during the day, no matter what.”
