Teen Mom 2’s Leah Messer Calvert ended the Season 5 premiere with the news that her 4-year-old girl Aliannah has a rare form of muscular dystrophy. Fans know that Leah and her former husband Corey Simms have spent years seeking answers as to why Aliannah was so developmentally delayed. Now she finally has them, but that doesn’t make it any easier to take. Ali’s condition is degenerative, according to experts, and will likely worsen as the preschooler gets older, eventually confining the poor thing to a wheelchair. Fortunately, Ali is happy and content at present, but still. Life has dealt Leah A LOT in recent years, and it’s hard not to feel for her deeply after this. Aliannah and Aleeah are Leah’s twins with Corey Simms, whom she married and divorced months later in a saga that played out at length on Teen Mom 2 .
