Teri Hatcher: Is She Really Homeless and Suicidal?

Teri Hatcher starred on Desperate Housewives and Lois and Clark: The Adventures of Superman . She's been on commercials. She even guest starred on Supergirl last year. But a new report came out, claiming that she's broke, living out of her van, and possibly suicidal. Could it be? In the video below, you'll see an interviewer sit down with Teri to learn the truth. On Thursday, Teri Hatcher sat down — on International Women's Day , no less — to explain how the explosive report about her current living situation came to be. “The way this works is: a couple of weeks ago, the magazine reached out to my publicist to say: 'We have the paparazzi photos of Teri at the beach.'” Specifically, the photos were of her, in and beside a van. “Which, by the way, I was filming a drive-by for my show. You know, we have the van driving around Los Angeles. And we were doing some beach drive-bys. They looked beautiful.” She has a YouTube series in which she travels in a van and sits down with people to talk. She continues: “So they had these photos of me being in the van, and they said they were going to run this story about me being broke — and I think they used the word 'suicidal' and 'homeless' and whatever.” She says that her representatives shut that down. “And my lawyer and my publicist said 'that's categorically not true, you can't print that; she's doing a YouTube show, that's her van. She has many homes in many states all over the country. There's nothing about this that's true.'” In fact, if you were to look up Hatcher's estimated net worth, you'd find that she's worth approximately $50 million. “And then they went and ran it anyway.” Oh wow. “And that is even more egregious that it was so purposefully hurtful.” She says that there's more to this than people may have realized. She says that the story about her is part of a sexist narrative that tabloid exploit. “Again, the reason that it's important for me to talk about it is because, you know, also on that cover was a picture of Sharon Stone.” She gets into that context and talks about why it's important. “A beautiful picture of Sharon Stone. Tripping, I guess, on a curb, like many people do.” Again, that's tripping on a curb, physically, not tripping balls , pharmaceutically. (The city streets where I live are old and I trip on them a lot) “And the caption was 'Near 60 Sharon Stone Collapses.'” Oh my. She talks about what these two stories playing out on the same cover made her think. “And it just made me think, you know, as actresses age, as women age in our society, magazines like this are fostering a culture of disrespect.” Some might argue that magazines are just using an existing culture of disrespect — of misogyny and of ageism — in order to sell themselves. “Of trying to take down and take away the power of women who have accomplished a lot in their careers.” That's so sad. But Teri says that she won't be silenced. “Who have a lot still to say.” When she shared a behind-the-scenes photo of her interview, Teri spoke triumphantly in the captions: “Getting the last laugh on #internationalwomensday. We all deserve a society where women of all ages are respected, and that can start with not accepting lies on the cover of a magazine.” She's absolutely right. Women deserve respect. There are plenty of stars who squandered millions or even tens of millions. Teri, however, is not one of them. Watch her interview here:

Poor Thang: Mary J. Blige Says She Didn’t Make A Dime From Her Oscar-Nominated ‘Mudbound’ Performance

Adriana M. Barraza/WENN.com Now, this is sad… Mary J. Blige Says Because Of Expenses She Didn’t Make Money Off “Mudbound” Yes, you read that right. MBJ is making some shocking claims in court documents about her pivotal role that landed her two Oscar noms. According to The Blast Mary J. Blige is alleging ahead of her upcoming divorce trial that she doesn’t owe Kendu Isaacs any spousal support because he’s to blame for her financial downfall. MBJ says her expenses are so bad that she actually didn’t make a single dime from “Mudbound” because all of it went to bills. Those bills include $25 million in advances and $12 million in debt that was acquired during her marriage. She’s also telling a judge that she’s been doing TV and film projects solely for her image because they’re not actually profitable for her. As previously reported Kendu asked a judge to make MBJ give him $65K a month because her “divorce songs” ruined his rep and left him unable to work. That was shut down and the $30K MBJ’s been giving him a month continued. WENN Mary and her dirty doggin’ ex will face off in court soon for their divorce settlement. Continue reading

Celebrity Big Brother Recap: Who Was Evicted?

We think it’s fair to say that Celebrity Big Brother has brought the drama throughout its first week on the air.  We’ve had Brandi Glanville causing trouble, Omarosa wailing to Ross Matthews about how she would never vote for Donald Trump again and a big twist that allowed the head of household to be overthrown.  The first big event of the episode was the Power of Veto competition, and if you’ve been keeping up with our Big Brother spoilers , you will already know how that played out.  Keshia, James, and Chuck were players by default. Mark and Ari were picked by random draw, and Keshia chose Shannon to help her try and keep the nominations the same.  Omarosa was tasked with hosting the competition that found the houseguests spelling the biggest word. Shannon emerged as the winner, successfully spelling out “responsibilities.” That means Shannon won the first two competitions of the season and needs to dial it back a little if she has any hope of making it much further.  Proving to be a competition beast in week one can be detrimental to your place in the game. It’s a good thing Shannon is in that all-female alliance because they should all keep each other safe.  James and Ari came in the last place in the competition, so they had to wear baby costumes for 48 hours. They came to play Big Baby, it seems.  The nominations were kept the same, meaning James or Chuck would be going home. This meant James was the likely one to go, but there were some last-minute discussions that made everyone question the target.  Eviction One Votes: Brandi Glanville votes to evict: Chuck Ariadna Guiterrez votes to evict: Chuck Omarosa votes to evict: James Ross Mathews votes to evict: Chuck Metta World Peace votes to evict: Chuck Marissa Jaret Winokur votes to evict: Chuck Shannon Elizabeth votes to evict: Chuck Mark McGrath votes to evict: Chuck By a vote of 7-1, Chuck was the first houseguest evicted from Celebrity Big Brother! He was furious, but it was a last-minute blindside that will likely come back to haunt some of the players.  Omarosa voting to evict James seemed like a strategic move to cause some unrest in the all-female alliance. It seems a bit early to be doing that, but we all knew she would be causing as much trouble as possible.  The power is back up for grabs, and we cannot wait to see who has been crowned the next HOH. The results and should be announced today at some point.  What do you think of the results? Hit the comments below.  Big Brother continues Sunday on CBS.  View Slideshow: Celebrity Big Brother Spoilers: Who Is Going Home?!

Phoebe Robinson Talks Being A ‘Dope Queen’ On New HBO Series

Originally posted here:

Source: Charley Gallay / Getty If there is one moment that best embodies 2 Dope Queens on HBO, it would be when hosts Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams invite “hair icon” Sarah Jessica Parker on the show to talk about black hair. The scene is just as awkward and random as you’d expect as you watch Parker take great pain to find the right words to describe what she loves about our hair, except that it doesn’t end with Carrie Bradshaw being dragged off the stage. In fact, the moment highlights Robinson and Williams’s penchant for addressing and dismantling what is considered taboo or controversial to have an honest, thoughtful conversation about sociopolitical matters. Not only does 33-year-old Robinson welcome the dialogue, she encourages it. Taking her and Williams’s wildly popular podcast to primetime television was a decision that at first made her nervous, then excited her as she prepared to headline a variety series unlike any other. With 2 Dope Queens , the Ohio native is helping normalize the presence of smart, fabulous, hilarious black women in late night TV to talk about things from “which white people need to apologize to us first?” to the wonderful moment when Robinson’s #Britishwhitebae offered to lotion her “ashy” feet. And that’s not all—they bring along a dazzling array of diverse stand-up talent including Baron Vaughn, Aperna Nancherla, Michelle Buteau, and Sheng Wang to offer their own candid observations on the world around them. Robinson jumped on the phone to talk to us about the new series, navigating social media, and disrupting the white boys club in comedy: HB: Congrats on 2 Dope Queens ! How important for you was it to create a positive, inclusive environment that was also woke AF for TV? Phoebe Robinson : I think because Jessica started out in improv and I was doing stand-up two years ago, we would see very white, very male faces. With the stand-up portion of the 2 Dope Queens special, I just noticed that these comedians don’t have the attention they deserve. It’s important for us that not only are we providing a platform for ourselves, but for other people who we think are amazing. I think a lot of people in comedy, the gatekeepers, are like, “oh, we don’t know how to find diverse talent. We don’t know how to find people who are different.” I always hate that, like you’re not looking at all the amazing people around you who are worthy and valuable and are hilarious. With Queens , it’s just been easy to book this. Everyone’s great. HB: What made you want to move the podcast to TV? PR : We were doing the podcast for a while, and we all thought we were going to do well, but we’re also so surprised to see how much people really enjoy not only the chemistry between Jessica and I, but also the stand-up and our interview style with guests. And one night we were just like, “I think that this could be a really fun TV show. I think this could be a variety show.” I told Jessica that, and she agreed. And we rounded everyone up and said, “this could be something different that hasn’t quite been on TV before.” I must give HBO credit, because ever since they’ve been around they’ve always had a keen eye on what’s different, what’s an audience that’s deprived of content and how can we be a facilitator of that. And I think they saw something with Jessica and I that was along the lines of Insecure and all this other stuff coming out in which people of color are not only in front of the camera but also behind the camera. They were just immediately on board. HB: Did you feel any pressure to respond to a certain political moment in pop culture? PR : I think the show existing is its own statement. But I think whatever Jessica and I talk about the show—whether it’s racism, or sexism in New York, or even something light like celebrities we have crushes on—we’re constantly bringing ourselves to the stage. Our stand-ups like John Early are very involved with what’s going on in the world, so I think the easy part is finding smart, intelligent people who will execute the way they do best. I don’t think it’s been tough for us to do it. I think we’re just grateful to have people around us who want to talk about these things. Jessica and Phoebe Source: Amy Pearl / Amy Pearl HB: You seem to have a very devoted and diverse audience that appreciate your unapologetic blackness no matter what. PR : If something is created by a straight white dude, did they think about how it was going to be relatable to other people? Was Jerry Seinfeld to make his show relatable? That’s just not a question he gets asked. So, when Jessica and I got into this, we want to do what we find funny. I just want to make her laugh on stage, and vice versa. I think this notion that anyone who doesn’t represent the patriarchy as we know it, they’re considered “other” or hard to understand. We’re all human, even if I’m talking about ashiness in the black community. So even if certain audiences don’t understand the experiences because they haven’t had them, I think they can empathize with people. They can really understand the comedy of it. I think we’ve gotten to a place where white people watch Insecure . Asian people watch Jane, the Virgin . Good is good, and I think it’s great that that could be celebrated. HB: That reminds me of the moment when you brought on Sarah Jessica Parker to talk about black hair. PR : She’s not the only person that’s scared about black hair. I think that’s why a lot of people touch it, because they don’t know how to respond to it. So, it was cool to have that moment and have her be vulnerable and say, “no, I don’t know anything about black hair. No one’s ever talked about it with me. Let’s get into it.” It was cool because the audience was nervous, and Jessica and I were like, “This is fine. She’s asking questions so that she could be more knowledgeable.” I wish moments like that would happen more in real life. HB: As soon as that moment happened, I immediately looked at SJP and thought to myself, “what in the world is she going to say?” It was a very pure moment when you didn’t know what to expect and she was obviously curious and complimentary about it. To see that moment in this era of black hair is very indicative of what the show is. PR : Yeah, I think instead of everyone being nervous to talk about different cultures, let’s just like get into it and open it up. When things are no longer a mystery, then everyone could be treated with respect as opposed to not acknowledging it, so they don’t say anything stupid. I’m glad that you really like that moment, because that to me is one of my favorite moments from the taping as well.   HB: I think it also just allowed space for her to say something that she might have regretted later, especially important given the way in which we engage in this reactionary social media era. You were encouraging her to say the first thing that came into her mind because it was not a space in which you would judge her. PR : Yeah, it’s like “I want to try to say this, but I might say the wrong thing. I’m not trying to offend anyone. I’m trying to find the tools to equip myself to discuss this in the first place. I think in this era where everyone’s like, “I’m woke,” I’m like, you don’t know everything. No one knows everything. I don’t know everything about the LGBTQ community, so I’m learning. It’s like, I don’t know this thing and I want to know about it and become smarter about it. It’s creating a space where people aren’t snapping at someone when they get one thing wrong. Like today, I saw someone I know on Instagram post something simply stating, “Hey women, make sure to get your cervix checked” like a PSA. And someone immediately wrote, “you know, not all women have cervixes.” You know what she was trying to do! And then it turned into she’s being exclusionary, but this person’s trying to raise awareness. People are so quick to find a flaw in what people say without realizing that this person is trying to affect positive change. HB: You are a comedienne, showrunner, movie star, and a New York Times bestselling author. What would you like to conquer next? PR : I would love to keep working in TV. I would love to have my own TV show. I would love to do more movies. I’d love to write and direct like Ava Duvernay and Jordan Peele. If they can do it, I can do it. I’m working on my second book right now titled, Everything’s Trash but It’s Okay . So maybe do some stuff in publishing, maybe have my own imprint and publish people of color, queer people, women who I think don’t get the same opportunities because publishing is also overwhelmingly white. I’d also like to be more politically and socially active. I do some work with the Red campaign and would love to continue doing that because while it’s nice to get in hair and makeup and promote myself, I do think I have a responsibility to have it not all be about me. I want to use my platform for something good. 2 Dope Queens premiered on HBO Friday, February 2. Aly Raisman in her Real Bran & Panties Shoot of the Day

I think we can all agree, that the pervert Olympic Gymnastic’s doctor who molested 100s of girls, who we were happy to see get his 40-160 years, where he will rightfully get his balls ripped off for being a piece of shit…. Despite the love so many dudes have for female gymnastics that has always weirded me the fuck out because the stunted big legged girls look like they are 10 year old midgets on steroids…most dudes know that fucking with young girls is something that should end in death… So Aly Raisman is a survivor….and now she’s doing underwear campaigns for a brand owned by American Eagle Outfitters…because I guess that’s empowering… Or maybe it’s like all those porn chicks sexualized at a young age turning to sex work.. But let’s just go with empowering….at least after reading this statement she made at the trial…. “You have not taken gymnastics away from me. I love this sport, and that love is stronger than the evil that resides in you, in those who enabled you to hurt many people,” Perfect timing for a panty campaign while she’s in the media…maybe a little exploitative really…but here it is anyway.. Jets Player Robby Anderson Arrested, Threatens to Nut in Eye of Cop’s Wife

Early Friday morning, Robby Anderson, wide receiver for the New York Jets (a football team), was arrested. The charges include reckless driving, resisting arrest, evading police, and threatening a public servant. But those charges barely scratch the surface. Among other things … he threatened to “nut” in a police officer’s wife’s eye. His words, not ours. It started off on what we assume to be a pretty run-of-the-mill morning in Florida, based upon everything that we’ve heard about Florida Man over the years. In South Florida, police detected a vehicle driving 105 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone. That’s … not great. This time, the celebrity speeder wasn’t Justin Bieber, but Robby Anderson. Who, as we mentioned, is a professional athlete. Maybe he was somehow not paying attention, maybe he was thinking of crossing over into another sport — race car driving. Who knows? Whatever the reason, he was allegedly traveling more than twice the legal speed limit. Based upon police descriptions, Robby Anderson noticed when police were trying to pull him over. Instead of finding a safe place to pull over and slowing his vehicle, he allegedly doubled down on reckless driving, running multiple red lights. Per police reports, he was also swerving from one lane into another while attempting to evade police. Folks, please don’t try those sorts of maneuvers at home. Or anyone. Eventually, Robby Anderson did stop his vehicle. But when he did, the police say that they had a new ordeal to face — Robby’s reluctance to allow them to place him in the back of a police car. According to the police report, obtained by NJ.com , Robby Anderson’s bad behavior still wasn’t over. “While in the back of my patrol vehicle, Robert stated that when he got out he was going to find my wife, f–k her, and nut in her eye.” He said WHAT ?!  (In case you’re unfamiliar with the term and the context doesn’t clear, nut means orgasm or, in this case, ejaculate) “He continued to make other verbal threats toward my family.” Vague but still not good. “Based on his statements it was clear that he intended to sexually assault my wife.” We imagine that Robby Anderson’s attorney may argue that Robby was simply threatening to seduce the officer’s wife. “He also began to brag about how much money he has and how all I was doing was trying to ‘Ruin his fun.'” Classy. Based upon Robby Anderson’s social media activity from Thursday, we can infer that he was grieving a lost relationship. (He may have just had a breakup) If so, perhaps he was not handling his sense of loss very well. We don’t mean to suggest that he was using any illicit substances, but it’s possible that he had been too upset to go to sleep. It’s also possible that he was just not in a great mood and that this led him to make some terrible choices. None of that is an excuse for literally anything for which he is accused.  But it might, at least, be an explanation. Pro-tip: don’t do the things of which Robby Anderson is accused. Especially not making threats against a police officer’s family. Police don’t like it. Fans don’t like it. And prosecutors, courts, and judges really don’t like it. This isn’t Robby’s first brush with the law in Florida. Last year, he was arrested at a Miami music festival. That time, he was also charged with resisting arrest. And also with obstruction of justice. Robby might need to make some better choices.

Exclusive: “Broke” Kendu Isaacs Accuses MJB Profiting Off Their Divorce; Still Owes Him A $346K Salary

LOS ANGELES, CA – NOVEMBER 02: Singer Mary J. Blige and husband Kendu Isaacs arrive at the LACMA 2013 Art + Film Gala at LACMA on November 2, 2013 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Gregg DeGuire/WireImage) Martin “Kendu” Isaacs Says He’s Struggling Since Split From Singer Mary J. Blige’s soon to be ex-husband has accused her of turning a profit on their divorce as he demanded more money from the singer as they continue to battle out in their acrimonious divorce. Isaacs filed paperwork last month accusing the “Real Love” singer of withholding his pay from his work as her personal manager on her “King & Queen of Hearts” tour. Isaacs said Blige currently owes him a total of $345,820, and he hasn’t seen a dime, according to court docs. Blige’s ex also claimed his estranged wife has used him as a punching bag in the press, and despite his “aggressive” efforts, he hasn’t been able to work since she fired him in July 2016. “In fact, petitioner has financially benefitted from this divorce because she used it as a platform to promote her new music, album and tour,” Kendu wrote in court papers which were obtained by BOSSIP. “Since the divorce was initiated, she has released at least two songs that have been dubbed her ‘divorce’ songs. The evidence will show that petitioner reaped a substantial profit from this divorce.” Isaacs, 49, doubled down on his claims that he’s entitled to half of her royalties, residuals and commissions that Mary earned from her music, film and TV work during their nearly 13-year marriage, according to his filing. Isaacs – who recently said the stress of the divorce put him in the hospital – also wants her to pay his attorney’s fees. A judge will now decide how much Isaac deserves when the case heads to trial in March. Isaacs has asked for $65,000 a month in alimony payments for the rest of his life. However, Mary has contended in court papers that the $30,000 a month that she’s already paying him is too much and accused him of misappropriating $420,000 on his mistress. Continue reading
