Williams’ gesture took place after the comic’s security team saw the woman crying in the crowd and found out the surprising reason why. She said that they were “tears of joy” because it was the first time she had laughed since being told by her doctors that she needs a new kidney. Enter the 39-year-old comic and surprising hero of the evening. The woman was brought backstage to meet Williams, who briefly left, only to return with a stack of bills in a piece of paper that read, “God never leaves.” She called the comedian’s good deed an “awesome surprise.” That’s an understatement. Well done, Katt! Not just for the very kind gesture, but it sounds like it was a great show too, based on her reaction.
