Even following their tragic miscarriage , Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth share a lot of themselves with fans — including the occassional bit of TMI . This time, they shared a photo of some very casual PDA — some simple hand-holding. But fans are giving the couple grief over their hand-holding antics. Take a look and see if you agree with them: Austin Forsyth and Joy-Anna Duggar shared a tender photo of their joined hands. On their joint Instagram account (which will never not be weird, but whatever), they included a caption. Quoting “Vanilla Twilight” by Owl City, they surrounded the following lyrics in music note emojis: “The spaces between my fingers are right where your’s fit perfectly,” the caption reads. Their post also featured tags, presumably by Joy: “#manlyhands #justholdmyhand #mybestfriend #AustinMartynForsyth.” Before we get into the hand-holding-shaming that some of their critics had to say, let’s address the elephant in the room. Austin appears to have something going on with his hands.  There’s the streak of black ink (or possibly oil) across the back of his hand. Then there’s what appears to be a dark patch at the base of his index finger — which is mostly just a shadow. At that same spot, though, there appears to be something — perhaps a healing injury — going on with his skin. A number of followers were puzzled by it, with on even going so far as to ask if he has warts. With that out of the way, we can get into the obvious — followers giving them grief over their hands. After all, they’re not holding hands as described in the song lyrics, which makes it an odd choice. Or, as one commanter phrased it: “But then you’re holding hands like potatoes not like french fries.” (Never in my life heard that expression, but sure) Another noted: “But like, the space in between your fingers isn’t where your spouse’s are?” To be clear, though, other followers were more focused upon how sweet the sentiment behind the photo really was. “I love a man with hard working hands . . . you have a gem,” praised one fan. “Don’t ever let go!” another declared. “You’re right where you belong!” Considering that this is a family where Anna didn’t even divorce Josh after learning that he was a child molester and had cheated on her … … We somehow suspect that Joy-Anna and Austin aren’t breaking up any time soon. In fact, from the comments we saw, the praise and sweet replies outnumbered the critics. “Nothing sweeter than holding the hands of a husband that works tirelessly for his family,” raved another follower. That same comment continued: “Each callous, scar and crack tells of the love those hands sacrifice for.” “That’s so sweet,” another affirmed. The follower wrote: “Austin is a hard working man with his blisters and calluses. But he’s soft and loving for his family. The kind of man girls dream of.” Most of us don’t pay attention or care how other people hold hands with each other. We imagine that, between the horror of August heat when this photo was snapped and Austin’s sore hands, “potato” hand-holding was the best option. Either way, this gentle display of PDA doesn’t really deserve the ire of fans. If you want to complain about the Duggars, there is no shortage of real ammunition.
