If you’ve been paying attention to the media lately, you can probably already guess why these folks were so pressed for some Popeyes, but we’re going to tell you what happened anyway. The Popeyes at the 7100 block of Scott Street in Houston ended up running out of the new chicken sandwich right after their daily dinner rush. This is a pretty common situation that has been highly talked about in conjunction with the sandwich , but one patron didn’t seem to get that memo. Southeast officers are at 7100 Scott. Luckily for everyone involved, one smart Popeyes employee was able to lock the gunmen out and proceeded to call the police. No arrest have been made yet, but once word spreads and a little reward is offered, Houston natives probably won’t mind giving up the info. It’s a simple saying that could seriously save your life, but maybe even more importantly, it can save someone else. Four Atlanta area hotels ended up ignoring this age-old advice and now, they’re facing federal charges for it. According to the AJC.com, these aforementioned hotels include a Red Roof Inn near SunTrust Park, a La Quinta Inn near North Point Mall, Hometown Studios–previously operating as a Suburban Extended Stay–on Peachtree Industrial Court in Chamblee, and Extended Stay America on Hammond Drive near Sandy Springs. Up to 20 men a day visited hotel rooms for short periods of time (which is a pretty obvious indicator of sex trafficking) and some women were forced to stay at the hotels for weeks at a time, according to four trafficking survivors. The federal investigation revealed these hotels knew about the sex trafficking going on in their facilities and not only turned the other cheek, but profited heavily from the illegal activity. Employees were paid to keep quiet and act as lookouts in case police arrived or other hotel guests were suspicious, the lawsuits state. The Red Roof Inn even had a sign that reportedly reads “No Refund After 15 mins”. “There is no legitimate reason for the Smyrna Red Roof Inn to have such a policy,” the four lawsuits state. “The policy exists so that commercial sex acts cannot be accomplished quickly at the Smyrna Red Roof Inn without also paying for a room…” Hopefully, these businesses are held accountable for their role in sex trafficking and no one else has to experience such trauma just because a hotel wants to make a quick $40. The plaintiffs are seeking trials by jury and unspecified punitive damages.

This revamped version of the ABC program’s title sums up the shocking turn of events that we just witnessed. Just a few days ago, John Paul Jones and Derek Peth squared off at Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone’s televised wedding, with The Betchlor podcast host recounting the conversation to Haley Ferguson on Monday night’s episode. It all came as a surprise to Haley — who had gone on a date with Jones after arriving in Paradise and then accepted his rose — that he had strong feelings Tayshia. I did not know that at all,” Haley told Derek, adding in an on-camera interview: “It’s so random this Tayshia thing… I don’t know anything about the fact that he was into Tayshia. I’m honestly pissed.” Haley therefore figured she would confront Jones after hearing secondhand about his relationship with Tayshia. She wanted verification. We did hit it off. From there, JPJ’s night only grew worse when Derek asked him to speak again in the hopes that he could “seek some understanding as to where all this started.” However, Jones continued to insist that Derek wasn’t the “right guy for Tayshia.” “You don’t get to decide that,” Peth shot back. “She gets to decide that, not you.” “She already decided that,” Jones retorted. Tayshia watched this all go down and was anything but pleased about it. “This is so unnecessary,” she said. “It’s exhausting and it’s very frustrating for me. I’ve been contemplating breaking it off with both of them because I’m done and I’m over it.” Haley could relate. She also felt exasperated with the show and the set-up and ready to give up on love altogether. Thankfully, the next day brought a pair of new arrivals: Matt Donald and Luke Stone from Hannah Brown‘s very recent season of The Bachelorette . However, both Matt and Luke ended up taking out Sydney Lotuaco and Kristina Schulman, respectively. With this double date underway, Tayshia went and talked to Jones once more. It has since come out that the popular actor and comedian is expected to make a full recovery. The Blast reports : Sources connected with Hart tells The Blast, Kevin is still in a local hospital undergoing tests to determine if his back will require surgery to repair. TMZ reports : Sources close to Kelly’s girlfriends/alleged sex slaves tell TMZ … they’re joining forces to help Kelly scrounge up the funds to hire the attorney who got Michael Jackson acquitted in his child molestation trial — Tom Mesereau. We’re told the ladies have a couple potential projects in the works that could land them a big payday — including a book deal — and their plan is to put that money toward the Mesereau fund … along with Kelly’s general defense fund. Our sources say Joycelyn and Azriel have just hired reps who are reaching out to media outlets to score some paid interviews. None are scheduled yet … but we’re told there’s some interest. The outlet adds that the goals of Clary and Savage could be a longshot as they’re having some difficulty in acquiring a talent manager that could get them in some rooms to pitch their ideas. Source: KENA BETANCUR / Getty Once again, a Starbucks in Philadelphia is under fire for making another racist inference according to the claims of a patron who says staff in the store took a swipe at his name. Niquel Johnson, a 40-year-old Muslim man who goes by the name Aziz, says an employee at Starbucks wrote “ISIS” as his name and he adds that they also lied about speaking with his niece to issue an apology. The Washington Post exclusively reports : Niquel Johnson paid for three drinks in Philadelphia on Sunday, and in typical Starbucks fashion, an employee asked for his name. Johnson, 40, told them “Aziz,” his Islamic name pronounced ah-zeez. He has used it for 25 years — and “countless” times at that particular store. But three unusual things happened on this occasion, he said. When his order was ready, a staffer announced them by drink type, not his name. The second unusual part was the employee wrote his name as “ISIS” — the acronym for the Islamic terror group — in the printout attached to all three drinks. Johnson didn’t even realize it until later, when a friend pointed it out at a bookstore. “I was shocked and angry. I felt it was discrimination,” Johnson told The Washington Post on Friday. The outlet writes that Starbucks claimed they spoke with Johnson’s niece and settled the matter. The kicker is that Johnson says whoever the company claims they spoke with, a woman named Alora, isn’t someone known to him in his life. Johnson is considering legal action. — Photo: Getty
