Music Vet Dame Grease Says Rasheed “ Ralo” Harrison Screwed Him Out Of Royalties The co-writer for DMX’ s hit “Stop Being Greedy” wants a man he believes stole his royalties to do just that. One of hip hop’ most prolific songwriter/producers – who helped to hone the Ruff Ryders’ sound – has sued a fellow music industry veteran for orchestrating a music royalty theft scam. Dame Grease has filed a $2 million lawsuit against Wonder Boy Publishing head Rasheed “Ralo” Harrison for tortious interference with contract, alleging he straight up stole Grease’s extensive publishing catalog from right under his and the record label’s nose. According to court papers obtained by BOSSIP, Grease said he inked a publishing deal with Sony 20 years ago where the company would oversee his catalog and he would retain 50 percent of his copyrights. But the writer said he believes Harrison forged his signature and illegally took over ownership of the catalog, and Grease said Sony hasn’t provided an accounting of his royalties for seven years. Sony/ATV Music Publishing and BMG Rights Management are also named as defendants for breach of contract, Grease’s amended complaint, which was filed Nov. 4, states. Grease is being represented by Lita Rosario, who also litigated Big Pun’s widow’s back royalty case against Fat Joe a few years back. “Actually, my first thought was to get on some street s**t,” Grease told BOSSIP about when he learned of the alleged fraud. “With selling 60 million records, I knew the residuals weren’t coming back. I was seeing royalty statements for a couple of hundred dollars.” The ghostwriter, who helped pen and produce classics from the late 1990s including Nore and Nas’ “Body In The Trunk,” The Lox’s “We’ll Always Love Big Poppa,” and most of DMX’s debut album, “It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot,” said he believes he’s not Harrison’s only alleged victim and wouldn’t be surprised if other big names sue him for compensation in the future. Grease, who is supporting two of his children in college, said he wants his catalog back, an accounting from Sony on how they allegedly dropped the ball and his back royalties plus punitive damages. Besides her candid announcement on Instagram, Solo hasn’t said much about her private split. But you can always count on step-dad Richard Lawson to speak when nobody else in the Knowles-Carter clan does. During the Introduction to the Diverse Perspective event on Sunday, Lawson told Us Weekly that the family is helping Solange get through this difficult time. “[We’re] helping her just work through it. It’s all a process,” the Poltergeist actor said. “And the beautiful thing is, is that everybody comes out the other side is the better for it.” Richard added that Solange and big sister Beyoncé are “probably the best mothers that you have ever seen”. “Tina is the ultimate mother. Back in September, the adult film world was rocked by the unexpected death of Jessica Jaymes . The popular performer was just 43 years old. Jaymes was found dead in her Los Angeles apartment after suffering a seizure. She was discovered by her estranged husband, Nadir Maraschin, who became suspicious after he was unable to contact her for several days. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office attributed the death to “natural causes,” as it did not appear that the seizure was brought about by any external forces. As is always the case with deaths that take place under mysterious circumstances, a full autopsy was conducted and this week, the results of a toxicology report were released to the public. While Jaymes’ death is still considered the result of natural causes, as there were no signs of foul play or accidental injury, one line from the autopsy report seems to illuminate the circumstances that led to her untimely passing. The coroner noted that “chronic ethanol abuse” was a factor in the death. According to TMZ, several prescription pill bottles were found near Jaymes’ body. Those two factors — combined with Jaymes’ well-documented history of substance abuse — have led many to the conclusion that while she may not have overdosed, the performer’s death was primarily a result of her drug and alcohol consumption. “She had a lot of health issues, she kept having seizures in the past six months — she was around the medication for the seizures,” a source told the New York Post at the time of her death, “She was so unhealthy, so many problems, health issues with her back, her nerve system, the seizures in the past six months,” the insider added. “I was just waiting. It was a question of time. She was so young.” On social media, some fans have expressed sympathy, while others responded to the finding derisively. “That’s sad for her and her family,” wrote one Reddit user. “Years of alcohol abuse = natural causes?!” another remarked. While it’s easy to sneer at Jessica for the role her lifestyle may have played in her death, it’s important to note that she sought treatment for her addiction issues on numerous occasions. In addition to her 200 adult films and her appearances on The Howard Stern Show and Weeds, Jaymes also appeared on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab Sober House, on which consulted with experts and attempted to rid herself of her demons. Jaymes’ passing comes on the heels of several other premature deaths within the adult film industry, including the suicide of August Ames , an actress who was just 23 when she took her own life.
