Source: Bill Tompkins / Getty NYPD Cop Seen Kneeling On Man’s Head And Waving Gun An NYPD officer was seen being very aggressive during an arrest in which put all his weight down as he kneeled on a man’s head while simultaneously waving his service weapon indiscriminately at innocent bystanders. The NYDailyNews reports the following: NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill said the tense scene unfolded while police were trying to make an arrest, and the suspect didn’t want to go peacefully. “This was an arrest they made, or were attempting to make, where an individual decided that as he was being arrested he was going to take whatever cash I assume he had stolen and throw that up into a crowd, creating a chaotic situation,” O’Neill told reporters. Emily Hartridge, a beloved YouTube star and personal trainer/presenter in Great Britain, died on Friday after being involved in an electric scooter accident. She was 35 years old. The tragic news was revealed in an Instagram post that reads as follows: Hi everyone. This is a horrible thing to have to say over Instagram but we know many of you were expecting to see Emily today and this is the only way to contact you all at once. Emily was involved in an accident yesterday and passed away. We all loved her to bits and she will never be forgotten. She has touched so many lives it’s hard to imagine things without her. She was a very special person. Here is a look at the message in full: Elsewhere, without naming the online personality, London’s Metropolitan Police Service released details of a collison between a scooter and a truck on Friday. “Police were called at 08:36hrs on Friday, 12 July to reports of an electric scooter being in collision with a lorry at Queenstown Road, junction with Battersea Park Road SW8. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended,” this report read. “A woman in her 30s had suffered serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.” Hartridge had close to 350,000 YouTube subscribers at the time of her passing. She started posting seven years ago and rose to prominence mostly due to videos in listicle form, typically titling footage such as this “10 Reasons Why …” where topics ranged from sex, relationships, love, gender and life. Her latest video was called “10 Reasons to Get a Younger Boyfriend” and it centered on that fact that her boyfriend is eight years her junior. On average, Hartridge earned around three million views a month and went on to host TV shows such as 4OD’s Oh Sh*t I’m 30 . Hartridge’s last Instagram post, meanwhile, was shared on Friday, as she talked about her reaction to a troll who asked if she was a man because of her lean-muscular physique. “I have never adhered to societal norms and I am certainly not going to start now,” the 35-year old explained in response. YouTube Creators released a statement on Twitter Saturday that read: We’re deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss of a truly talented British creator, Emily Hartridge. Our thoughts and condolences go out to all of her loved ones and fans. Fans and others YouTubers also took to social media in mourning, with author Greg Jenner Tweeting: “Deeply saddened to see this on Instagram. I met @emilyhartridge on a train 5 years ago, and by the end of the journey we’d shared all sorts of things about our mental health and insomnia. “She was funny, kind, and open-hearted. My deepest sympathies to the Hartridge family.” Added celebrity host Maude Garrett: “I’m really struggling to comprehend the sudden passing of my friend @emilyhartridge. Just in case you need a friendly reminder, even if you consider yourself to not be racist, there’s a high chance your ancestors did some racist a$$ sh**. You know…like own slaves. Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke is letting the facts be the facts since he revealed documents that show his ancestors owned slaves. In a Medium post , O’Rourke revealed that he and his wife are both descendants of slave owners. “I was recently given documents showing that both Amy and I are descended from people who owned slaves,” he wrote. “Along with other possessions listed in their property log were two human beings, Rose and Eliza. A paternal great-great-great grandfather of mine, Andrew Cowan Jasper, owned these two women in the 1850s.” O’Rourke went on to say that there are also “records showing that a maternal great-great-great grandfather, Frederick Williams, most likely owned slaves in the 1860s (‘most likely,’ because we are not certain that the Frederick Williams who is my ancestor and the Frederick Williams who owned slaves are the same person, but there’s enough circumstantial data to lead me to conclude that it’s likely).” He continued: “Records also showed that Amy had an ancestor who owned slaves and another who was a member of the Confederate Army.” “Something that we’ve been thinking about and talking about in town hall meetings and out on the campaign — the legacy of slavery in the United States — now has a much more personal connection.” “Ownership of other human beings conferred advantages not just to Andrew Jasper and Frederick Williams, but to Jasper’s and Williams’ descendants as well. They were able to build wealth on the backs and off the sweat of others, wealth that they would then be able to pass down to their children and their children’s children. In some way, and in some form, that advantage would pass through to me and my children.” “That those enslaved Americans owned by my ancestors were denied their freedom, denied the ability to amass wealth, denied full civil rights in America after slavery also had long term repercussions for them and their descendants.” Finally, he concluded: “I benefit from a system that my ancestors built to favor themselves at the expense of others. Although the president didn’t mention anyone by name, it’s clear he was referring to a group of progressive congresswomen who are pushing the envelope in the Democratic party, including Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts. And surprise, surprise, all of these women were born in the United States with the exception of one. Tlaib, a Palestinian American, was born in Michigan; Ocasio-Cortez, who’s family is Puerto Rican, was born in New York; and Pressley, a Black woman, was born in Cincinnati. Omar is a Somali refugee who moved to the U.S. when she was 12 and she became a citizen in 2000. Meanwhile, ya’ll crusty Cheeto-In-Chief is spewing dangerous rhetoric that could literally put these women’s life at risk. Trash. A lot of these women clapped back at the president with Ocasio-Cortez tweeting, “the country I ‘come from,’ & the country we all swear to, is the United States.” Mr. President, the country I “come from,” & the country we all swear to, is the United States. Some characters make watching TV shows worthwhile. Others… not so much. Some make you wonder why you're even watching said TV show. Know what we mean? Below, we've listed characters who are a waste of air. It's sad, but true. They suck. And this is why: 1. Rick Grimes – The Walking Dead Look, we really loved Rick during the earlier seasons of The Walking Dead. He took the leadership role very seriously, but somewhere along the way, he started to make mistakes. He didn’t take ownership of them and continued to be in power. He may be gone from the main series, but fans still have to endure this character sulking his way through a trilogy of movies. 2. Jon Snow – Game of Thrones At one point, people cared about Jon Snow, but by the time the final season arrived, he might as well have been a guest star. He did very little for five episodes, before plucking up the courage to murder his aunt/lover. His reward? Going beyond the wall … after the Night King’s army had been obliterated. 3. Owen Hunt – Grey’s Anatomy Remember when April and Arizona were written out of Grey’s Anatomy because the creative forces behind the show were struggling to serve all of the characters? Well, Owen should have been the one to go before either of those two. His storyline has been tedious for several seasons. He sucks the air out of every scene he’s in. It’s time for him to go. 4. Alaric Saltzman – Legacies Alaric has appeared on The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and more recently, Legacies. The character continues to make the same mistakes he has since the character first appeared on screens in 2009. More recently, his ridiculous decision to not teach his students defensive magic almost resulted in a lot of them dying. 5. Laurel Castillo – How to Get Away with Murder It’s Laurel’s world and everyone is just living in it … at least, according to her. Every single plot twist over the last few seasons have most revolved around Laurel and her crazy family and it needs to stop. 6. Octavia Blake – The 100 At one point, Octavia was the best part of The 100, but her descent into madness during the show’s fifth season solidified her as a villain, and completely irredeemable.
