All Malcolm wanted to do was rock his first name and middle initial on his Senior sweater at Christ The King HS in Queens like the rest of his senior class and he was told no, flat-out. Malcolm told NY Daily News he was pulled out of one of his advanced placement classes in February by Assistant Principal Veronica Arbitello, who told him he would not be permitted to have his name printed on his school sweater and that he shouldn’t want to be associated with “a person like that”. Staying stern, they refunded Malcolm Xavier his money for the senior sweater and soon after, a rally ensued. “Why am I in 2018 fighting for my own name?” asked Combs, who wore a T-shirt with the photo of the icon during the rally back in February. “Why does everyone have their names and initials and nicknames on their sweater, but why can’t I have my name?” SMH. The Christ the King High School senior is now fighting back with a complaint filed to the city’s Commission on Human Rights. So far the school hasn’t responded to the claim.
Mohammed Elshamy/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images Spotify’s Value Sky Rockets Following Going Public On Tuesday, the Spotify opened up to the New York Stock Exchange at $165.90 a share, which puts the company’s value at $29.5 billion. According to TechCrunch , their “estimated” value translated to that of $23.5 billion, so it’s safe to say the biggest streaming platform surpassed expectations. Spotify began trading through “direct public offering,” which allowed current shareholders to sell an existing number shares directly to stock market investors rather than issuing new stock. This allowed Spotify shareholders, including employees, to sell early. Spotify’s founder Daniel Ek explained why they took this approach in a blog post . “Spotify is not raising capital, and our shareholders and employees have been free to buy and sell our stock for years. So while tomorrow puts us on a bigger stage, it doesn’t change who we are, what we are about, or how we operate. This is why we are doing things a little differently,” he wrote in part. “[…] Spotify has never been a normal kind of company. As I mentioned during our Investor Day, our focus isn’t on the initial splash. Instead, we will be working on trying to build, plan, and imagine for the long term. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we stumble. The constant is that we believe we are still early in our journey and we have room to learn and grow.” Last month, the company said it had 159 million monthly active users, 71 million of which are premium subscribers. According to MarketWatch , Spotify closed the day at $149.95 per share, which brings the valuation of the company to $27 billion.

Image via Arik McArthur/FilmMagic/Getty Meek Mill Denied Bail Release Looks like Meek Mill is may just have to have to serve his 2-4 years sentence as it was initially ruled. Although the Philly rapper’s lawyer is appealing his case with the state of Pennsylvania, according to TMZ , highly-side-eyed judge Genece Brinkley has officially denied Meek’s request for bail release. The ruling flies in the face of recommendations by the D.A. and the governor to allow Meek back on the streets under appropriate conditions. Bogus bish Brinkley ain’t tryin’ to hear it… “This ruling from Judge Genece Brinkley simply reaffirms the fact she has turned Meek Mill’s case into a personal vendetta.” Tacopina goes on … “In spite of the recommendations from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, which was supported by Governor Tom Wolf, the judge continues to stand alone in supporting Officer Reginald Graham’s perjured testimony as well as his criminal behavior that has been documented.” Judge Brinkley is in the way. Smh.

WENN Singer Apparently Evading Warrant For Allegedly Sexually Violating Woman He is wanted on charges that he raped a woman in Georgia earlier this month. But it appears that singer Bobby V. is taking his sweet time when it comes to turning himself in for the shocking alleged crime, BOSSIP has learned. Bobby V. – who was born Bobby Wilson – is wanted in Cobb County, Ga. for rape after an unnamed woman filed a police report March 19, alleging that the artist raped her the day before. However, nearly two weeks later, the “Slow Down” singer has yet to clear things up with local law enforcement, who told BOSSIP that as of Wednesday, Bobby still hadn’t turned himself in, and was not in custody. Bobby’s rep has denied the rape complaint and said the alleged victim is motivated by money. Meanwhile, the former “Mista” member seems to be hiding in plain sight and living a normal life in his native Georgia. One witness told BOSSIP they spotted the singer working out at an Atlanta-area gym.
