Our Commenters of the Week Earn the Title ‘Knave of Copulation’

Franky, you’ll never measure up to Alison Brie’s stature as the Queen of Copulation , but as one of Movieline’s Commenters of the Week, you’re entitled to a lesser rank in the fornication fortress: a knave! Nope, Jethro Tull didn’t make knaves up. They’re real. And now they’re sexual troubadours of the fifth- or sixth-highest order! Follow Jethro’s lead anyway and get your wind instruments ready. Now: Who wins?

26 Cool and Awesome Moms (Photos)

Filed under: Humor , Photos Mom is super important. When you’re a baby, life in its entirety depends on Mom — she wipes your butt when you poop , feeds you when you’re hungry and comforts you when you’re upset. As a kid, mom’s responsible for teaching you all the important lessons and values necessary to make decisions, whether it be simple common sense or how to make life-altering choices. Mom offers the best advice, even when you don’t want to hear it (listening to a lecture about safe sex or drunk driving from your mother may not be fun, but it sure can save your life). And, besides, if it weren’t for Mom, none of us would even be on this planet at all. Moms are such a huge presence in our lives, yet we often don’t think to pause and thank them for all the wonderful things they’ve done. Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity to show mom some love for putting up with all of our silly antics — as children, we forget that we aren’t perfect either! When moms aren’t busy keeping us in line, they can be a blast. Here are 26 pictures of cool and silly moms being their awesome selves. We love you, Mom! Your New Pop Superstar: Chuck’s Zachary Levi?

In case American Idol contestant Didi Benami’s poignant version of Kara DioGuardi’s song “Terrified” isn’t on your mind, season five Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee will freshen your memory with a new single version of the track. Still, this is no ordinary ballad, as McPhee is accompanied in a duet by Chuck ‘s Zachary Levi. We hardly knew our favorite Buy More employee! Apparently he grew up with a background in musical theater, which explains his competent trilling. Check out the “Terrified” video — and its curious-looking star Kelly Overton — after the jump.

My Mom Raps Classic Hip-Hop Songs and Kills It [NSFW]

Filed under: Humor , Videos , Music , Exclusives We’re normally as wary as you are about old people trying to rap , but I just couldn’t hear my mom say “Get a grip, motherf**ker” and not want to post this series of videos of Marylin Newman, a 60-something New Yorker, reciting the lyrics of her youth (and by youth, we of course mean her fifties.) We strongly encourage you to take a few minutes out of your day to hear the hip-hop lover take on classics by Notorious B.I.G., Nas, and Black Moon. Watch as she records the most joyous interpretation of ‘Protect Ya Neck’ ever, harnesses the passion and fury of LL Cool J’s appropriately-titled ‘Mama Said Knock You Out’ and turns The Pharcyde’s classic ‘Passin’ Me By’ into some bizarre Shatner-esque spoken word before going into Dean Martin lounge-singing territory. When asked about this post, Newman responded, “What’s an Urlesque?” before blasting the latest Clipse mixtape. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. You’re Internet famous now. And you don’t even know what that means. A Catless Cat Lady’s Favorite Cat Videos and Photos

Filed under: Videos , Cute , Photos , Animals Ed note: My aunt Colette is Urlesque’s biggest fan. She’s a mom and loves the internet, so please enjoy her special guest post for Urlesque’s Mother’s Day extravaganza . -Kelly I am a cat lady. It’s in my family. When my mom was young, she would milk the cows and squirt the anxiously awaiting kitties in the face with milk. My sister is a cat lady (at one point having 5) and both my nieces are cat ladies, one of them being Urlbot Kelly Reeves. They have kitties of their very own. However, I am different. You have heard of a Man Without A Country … well, I’m the Cat Lady Without A Cat. I have had kitties in my past, with my love, Mousie, living for 17 years. I would love several fuzzy, loving, purring kitties in my home, but my better half had a bad experience with a basement cat when he was young, which left a scar and great dislike for cats. But, thanks to the internet, Urlesque, I Can Has Cheezburger and other cat-loving sites, I can get my daily fix of kitty! Thought I’d share with you a few of my favorite photos and videos that get me through the day. 5 Most Common E-mails From My Mom

Filed under: Humor , FW: , Lists My mom loves the internet because it’s a magical place where she can find old YouTube videos of H.R. Pufnstuf from her childhood along with tutorials that describe the correct way to express your cat’s anal glands (click if you dare). She also uses the web to fill my inbox with matronly advice and updates from home. I’ve collected the five most common variations of e-mails from my mom, bless her heart. Dear Mom: If you somehow find this post, I’m just joking. It’s the internet. Yes, I called grandma. XOXO. Dog Video Forwards Dear Cole, here is a video of a dog howling so he sounds like he is saying ‘I love you.’ Speaking of dogs, Freddy is doing fine. He got a groundhog bone stuck in his throat so your Dad had to pull it out with pliers. It’s always an ordeal with that dog. Nagging Reminder When was the last time you called your grandmother? You know it wouldn’t kill you to chat with her once in a while. She spent the entire afternoon worrying about an Oak fungus that is spreading throughout the forests in Pennsylvania. Please write her a letter, at least. Apocalyptic Hysteria Did you hear about the earthquake in Chile? I’m convinced it’s another Sign of the Times. Your father bought an emergency seed bank (the one from the Glenn Beck commercials) that should keep us going if things really go downhill. Stay out of Times Square and try not to use the subway too much. XOXO Belated Computer Virus Warning Cole, on the news tonight they talked about a new computer spyware going around called “The Valentine Proxy.” Apparently it looks like you got a Valentine from a friend but it’s really a Trojan worm. BE CAREFUL!!! Breaking Vegetable Garden News Update Terrible news. Our tomatoes got wiped out by a swarm of blister beatles. No canned spaghetti sauce this year. :-(. This life is nasty, brutish and short. Love you, mom. Share Follow all Mother’s Day Posts on Urlesque

Should we be a little scared of the internet now? Online fans of Betty White somehow realized a long-held dream of seeing her host a now-mediocre variety program, installing the actress on Saturday Night Live tomorrow night through sheer force of Facebook clicks. High-profile though the victory may be, it isn’t the first time that internet petitions and online movements have helped to change the face of popular entertainment. Here are 6 other victories that were mostly organized with the click of a mouse:

What’s On: The Eternal Rose of Nylund

At age 88, Betty White is finally ready for her Saturday Night Live debut. But can she hold her own against formidable vixens from SNL ‘s past? Quoth her long-missed husband Allen Ludden, “The password is duh.” Still, the Happy Homemaker has to pull out the top-shelf sass if she’s going to survive against some of these broads.
