Players from all over have taken part in the highly-anticipated reboot of the first entry into the franchise. Now for the first time, they will get to battle across consoles. By now most of you have taken part in the open beta in what was dubbed the “Best Online Multiplayer” by Game Critics Best of E3 2019 . While putting a next-gen spin on the multiplayer action that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare first introduced them back in 2007. The beta let players test out 2v2 Gunfight, Ground War which supports up to 64 combatants, night gameplay maps (our favorite), and the fully immersive Realism mode. Starting Thursday (September 19), PS4, Xbox One, and PC players will duke it out as they will be stress testing Modern Warfare’s cross-play feature. The Call of Duty news doesn’t stop there. Call of Duty: Mobile now has a release date. The totally free-to-play experience built from the ground up for iOS and Android finally launches October 1 right before Modern Warfares launch on October 5. So you will be able to get your fix of COD on the go or at the office on your lunch break. We got a chance to play the COD: Mobile at Samsung’s Unpacked event in Brooklyn, and it was impressive and translated well to Galaxy Note 10 Plus handset. You’re definitely getting the same experience you have come to expect from a Call of Duty game on a console, just in the palm of your hands. The music event will return to Chicago from November 17 to the 30th while an all new location is set for Atlanta from November 1 to the 15th. The major events will shine light on the unique culture each city has to offer. Over 50 artists across 15 curated events will take part in the festivities, which include world premieres, exhibitions, club nights, conversations and more. Meanwhile, some top tier talent will headline the show. The Atlanta festival will bring out such stars as Teyana Taylor and Ari Lennox , while trap music innovators Shawty Redd, Zaytoven and Lex Luger will discuss the genre in a panel. Rapper Denzel Curry ‘s alter ego, Zeltron, is even expected to go face to face with Joey Bada$$ in the wrestling ring. In Chicago, the city’s native Lupe Fiasco will perform his classic album Food & Liquor in full. Meanwhile, rapper extraordinaire Tierra Whack will headline her first Chicago show. Another Chicago native Jamila Woods will also strip down her Legacy! Legacy! album in a discussion. Colin Kaepernick Reportedly Willing To Be Backup Player, Yet NFL Team Still Won’t Sign Him

Source: Sean M. Haffey / Getty Colin Kaepernick still can’t seem to land a team despite reports that he’s willing to be a backup quarterback. According to CBS Sports , Kaepernick’s agent has contacted various teams this week in hopes of landing a quarterback position for his client. However, the teams aren’t biting. ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith says that Kaepernick’s camp has reached out to the Steelers. “Essentially, they’re not interested,” Smith said this week. Smith further explained that Kaepernick’s camp “contacted the Jets, no word on them yet. They’ve contacted the Saints. They didn’t get their phone calls returned.” To make matters worse, all three of these teams have added a quarterback since Tuesday morning. The Saints signed J.T. Barrett to their practice squad and he’ll be their No. 3 player behind Teddy Bridgewater  and  Taysom Hill. The Steelers added Paxton Lynch to their practice squad on Tuesday and the Jets reportedly signed David Fales on Wednesday. According to Smith, Kaepernick didn’t even want to be a starting quarterback. The sports commentator says he spoke with Kaepernick’s girlfriend, Nessa Diab , last week. According to Smith, Diab told him that Kaep would be open to a backup job. “One of the things that Nessa Diab told me last week when she and I met, she said, ‘Colin Kaepernick trains five days a week, every day, all five days, at 5 a.m.,’” Smith said. “‘Working out a minimum of three hours a day, if not longer. He’s ready to go. He wants to be back in the NFL and it doesn’t have to be as a starting quarterback. It could be as a backup quarterback.’” Yet, NFL teams still seem to be staying clear of Kaepernick. This says a lot if Kaep is willing to be backup because it’s most likely he’ll be playing for backup money, which wouldn’t be a major money risk to the team that signs him. A lot of quarterbacks from major teams have also been facing injuries, so there’s usually a need for replacements. In just two weeks, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees and Nick Foles have experienced serious injuries. Cam Newton also might miss a game in Week 3 due to a foot situation, and Sam Darnold is projected to miss multiple games due to mononucleosis. Meanwhile, Kaep has been ready to play. His practice videos that he posts on Instagram should serve as proof. But, per usual, the NFL still seems to be turning their back.

According to USA Today , his latest philanthropic project will focus on combatting global homelessness. As part of the project—which was founded by social entrepreneur Dr. Josh Littlejohn —individuals in 50 cities across the globe will sleep outside for one evening to raise $50 million that will be allocated to organizations that are on a mission to combat homelessness. During the one-night event, Smith will participate in a bedtime story reading in New York City’s Times Square and there will be simultaneous live performances by other entertainers held in Los Angeles, Chicago, Madrid, Amsterdam and other cities. The initiative is a collaborative effort between Social Bite, the Institute of Global Homelessness, UNICEF, the Malala Fund, and the Robin Hood organization and is slated to take place on December 7. “We want to send a message to the world’s political leaders to enact compassionate policy and find solutions for homelessness locally and the global refugee crisis that affects us all,” wrote Littlejohn in a statement on the initiative’s website. “We are a small, interconnected world. By collectively sacrificing our beds for one cold night we can reach out a hand of compassion and solidarity with those who need it most – homeless people on our doorsteps and refugees internationally.” Projects like The World’s Big Sleep Out are needed as homelessness is on the rise internationally. According to The Institute of Global Homelessness , there are 100 million people worldwide who have no housing. Smith and his family have been dedicated to supporting the homeless population. The announcement about his participation in this initiative comes just months after his son Jaden Smith launched a Los Angeles-based vegan food truck that provides free meals for the homeless. Meek Mill Donates School Supplies To Students, Teachers In Philadelphia

R apper Meek Mill is making an impact beyond music. The Philadelphia-bred hip-hop artist has been dedicated to empowering the youth in his hometown. Weeks after unveiling renovated basketball courts in North Philly Meek—whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams —returned to his former elementary school to donate backpacks and school supplies, CBS Philly reported. Blaine Elementary School to provide students with encouraging words and distribute 500 backpacks filled with supplies. He also gifted 30 teachers at the school with classroom supplies that will last the entire year. The initiative was a collaborative effort between Williams and Puma. This isn’t the first time that he has stepped up to support the youth during the back-to-school season. In the past, he’s hosted several school drives benefiting children in his hometown. Last year, he teamed up with the School District of Philadelphia to donate 6,000 backpacks to underprivileged students. “Growing up in Philly, I’ve watched families struggle to make ends meet and buy basic school supplies for the kids,” he told Billboard in a statement. “Those memories stay with me and that’s why I’m committed to giving back to families in my hometown, putting smiles on kids’ faces and helping them start the school year on the right now with the right supplies.” Williams’ donation comes at a time where many students and teachers at schools throughout the country need support as financial obstacles have prevented them from being able to purchase essential supplies for school. According to the  National Center for Children in Poverty , 15 million children throughout the country live in extreme poverty and are unable to afford school supplies. A  study  conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics revealed that 94 percent of public school teachers have spent some of their own money on school supplies without reimbursement.
