Almost Over: Wendy Williams & Ex-Kevin Set To Enter Settlement Talks In Ugly Divorce (Exclusive)

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Talk Show Queen Embroiled In Nasty Split With Former Manager Kevin Hunter Wendy Williams’ acrimonious divorce from her estranged alleged cheater hubby Kevin Hunter may never see the inside of a courtroom. A judge last week ordered Williams and her ex Hunter attend divorce settlement talks in the wake of their split. Lawyers for both sides were in family court last week for a status conference, where the judge ordered them to meet to see if they can make a deal. The settlement meeting is now scheduled for November 2019, according to court papers obtained by BOSSIP. At issue is Hunter’s insistence that Williams pay him alimony and both sides wanting their assets split down the middle. Hunter also wants Williams to pay him child support and his lawyer’s fees. One nugget of good news that came out of the hearing was that both sides reported that they were able to settle custody and parenting time for their son, Kevin Jr., 18, according to court documents. Williams filed for divorce from her husband of almost 20 years in April 2019, citing irreconcilable differences after Hunter allegedly had a longstanding affair with a masseuse that culminated with her giving birth to their out of wedlock daughter. In his counterclaim, Hunter said the pair had been living apart six months and asked that Williams’ complaint for divorce be thrown out. We’ve reached out to Williams’ spokeswoman for comment.

Eddie Murphy BYKE! The Trailer For His Netflix Film ‘Dolemite Is My Name’ Is Pure Fire [VIDEO]

Source: Courtesy Netflix / Courtesy Netflix Netflix Releases Official Trailer For ‘Dolemite Is My Name Have you been paying attention to the buzz over upcoming Netflix film ‘Dolemite Is My Name?’ Netflix just dropped the trailer and it looks amaaaaaazing! Stung by a string of showbiz failures, floundering comedian Rudy Ray Moore (Academy Award nominee Eddie Murphy) has an epiphany that turns him into a word-of-mouth sensation: step onstage as someone else. Borrowing from the street mythology of 1970s Los Angeles, Moore assumes the persona of Dolemite, a pimp with a cane and an arsenal of obscene fables. However, his ambitions exceed selling bootleg records deemed too racy for mainstream radio stations to play. Moore convinces a social justice-minded dramatist (Keegan-Michael Key) to write his alter ego a film, incorporating kung fu, car chases, and Lady Reed (Da’Vine Joy Randolph), an ex-backup singer who becomes his unexpected comedic foil. Despite clashing with his pretentious director, D’Urville Martin (Wesley Snipes), and countless production hurdles at their studio in the dilapidated Dunbar Hotel, Moore’s Dolemite becomes a runaway box office smash and a defining movie of the Blaxploitation era. Comics and rappers have praised Moore as a pioneering influence over the past few decades, and Dolemite Is My Name is a hilarious celebration of a singular talent who made his own legend. From director Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Empire); Emmy and Golden Globe-winning writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (Ed Wood, The People vs. O.J. Simpson); and the producing team of Oscar and Golden Globe nominee John Davis (Ferdinand, Joy), Golden Globe nominee John Fox (Joy) and Murphy; the film features an all-star supporting cast — including Mike Epps, Craig Robinson, Tituss Burgess, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Snoop Dogg, Ron Cephas Jones, Barry Shabaka Henley, Tip ‘TI’ Harris, Luenell, Tasha Smith — plus costumes designed by Academy Award winner Ruth E. Carter (Black Panther). Directed by: Craig Brewer Produced by: John Davis, John Fox, Eddie Murphy Screenplay by: Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski Cast: Eddie Murphy, Keegan-Michael Key, Mike Epps, Craig Robinson, Tituss Burgess, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Kodi Smit-Mcphee, Snoop Dogg, Ron Cephas Jones, Barry Shabaka Henley, Tip ‘TI’ Harris, Luenell, Tasha Smith, and Wesley Snipes Edited by: Billy Fox Costume Designer: Ruth E. Designed to select representatives to be ambassadors for the international beauty conglomerate for one calendar year the competition for a slot was stiff, but Watson never faltered. Shortly after the announcement of this year’s picks she talked to Hello Beautiful about what it took stand out in the crowd of candidates. I told my manager at the time ‘Look I’m not going to be a cashier I’m going to be on the floor doing makeup and selling makeup, and then I just went in and I proved myself. View this post on Instagram $10 dollar wig Strikes again! Practicing for a career in the spotlight through the competition. “I want to work on commercials,” she revealed. Not having formal training didn’t intimidate her. “Skill you can always gain a skill,” she said. “But your unique personality, your unique look, your unique style is what speaks.” She saw doing things like finding her lighting and practicing poses as chance to “stretch me artistically.” She campaigned hard swapping out a portion of her usual inspirational “morning gram” videos for stylized tutorials and photos that showed her ability to represent the brand in static or video format. Now that she has proven her versatility she hopes to use her platform with Sephora to reach a bigger audience so she can inspire more people. “I hope I can make a difference for anyone male, female, Black , white, Asian by letting them know that there’s someone like them out there letting them know that there is someone that’s a representation of them.” Placement in the Sephora Squad will give Watson the opportunity to not only appear in digital advertisements representing the interests of the brand to the everyday person to others it will allow her to advocate for diversity to brand decision makers . She doesn’t yet know how she will speak up for others in the space, but she is making it a priority to continue being her “bold, honest and outgoing,” self. “Sephora is a universal place it’s a universal playground. It opens a lot of fields for me. I want to be a representation for women of color there. This is how I’m going to make an impact by doing what I love.” DON’T MISS: MODEL MONDAY: A Free Plane Ticket Launched Gabby Fé’s Plus Size Modeling Career MODEL MONDAY: HBCU Dancer DaQuendra Elston Never Let Her Size Hold Her Back MODEL MONDAY: Ambre Anderson Went From Staying On A Couch To Owning A Condo By Keeping Focused [ione_media_gallery src=”https://hellobeautiful.com” id=”3054496″ overlay=”true”]

Source: Christopher Polk / Getty The internet’s done it again. After a worldwide social media push urging MTV to honor Missy Elliott’s music video artistry, the network has decided to honor the rapper with this year’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Missy has been nominated for 41 VMAs over the course of her career, winning seven. This year will mark the rapper’s first performance at the VMAs since 2003 when she performed “Work It.” The same year, she took home the award for Video of the Year. “Missy’s impact on the music landscape is indelible,” Viacom’s Head of Music and Music Talent Bruce Gillmer said in a statement. “Her creative vision across production, performance and songwriting is unmatched.” MTV is going a step further, linking up with Pepsi to honor Missy with celebrity and fan videos celebrating her legacy. The network is also planning a pop-up that will immerse attendees in some of her iconic videos. No word on a location for that pop-up museum yet, but it’s slated to be somewhere in NYC between August 24th and 25th. The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award has been given out at the VMAs since 1984 and was named after the King of Pop in 1991. David Bowie, the Beatles and Richard Lester were some of its first recipients. Source: Rolling Stone
