The Blacker The Panel The Sweeter The Scoops: CNN Rumored To Be Fast Tracking All-Black Show Featuring Network Regulars

Source: Faye Sadou/AdMedia/ Michele Eve/ SplashNews / Splash News Andrew Gillum, Angela Rye, April Ryan And Bakari Sellers Rumored To Be Getting A Show We’re excited to learn that CNN may be creating a show around our favorite black political panelists ! According to Page Six reports: We’re told the cable network hopes to hire regular CNN contributors April Ryan, Andrew Gillum, Angela Rye and Bakari Sellers as panelists for a brand-new show. The plan was kicked into high gear following the positive response the group received after appearing on the network’s morning show, “New Day With Alisyn Camerota and John Berman” during the Democratic debates last week. “It was the most excitement on that morning show since Chris Cuomo left as co-anchor,” a source told us. “CNN is fast-tracking talks … to develop it into a stand-alone show. The early chatter is that it could start as a weekend show that would rival MSNBC’s programming with Joy Reid, the Rev. Al Sharpton and Kendis Gibson.” CNN did not comment when asked to do so by Page Six. If you’ve been paying attention the four of them have been doing a lot of work together lately and it seems to be well received. Black by popular demand. What In The Racism: Georgia Landlord Evicts White Couple For Having Too Many Black Visitors

Source: Peter Dazeley / Getty North Georgia Landlord Evicts White Tenet For Having Too Many Black Guests Racism runs so deep for some people that they even have an issue with White kids playing with Black kids. One Georgia couple was evicted by their landlord back in December 2018 for allowing their kids to have African American guests. Victoria Sutton filed a housing discrimination suit against landlords Patricia and Allen McCoy who forced her to move out of her North Georgia home because she “had a N*****” on the property. According to the lawsuit, Sutton began inviting a black co-worker with a 5-year-old son to visit so their children could play. CNN reports : “After one of the playdates  Allen McCoy knocked on her door and used racial slurs to refer to African Americans. He called her a “n***** lover,” the suit says, and threatened to call Child Protective Services over her having a “n***** on their property.” He told her she had two weeks to move out, adding that he’d previously evicted a woman who’d tried to let an African American person move in with her.” Just like most racists, McCoy denied the allegations, telling reporters he wasn’t prejudiced, “some of the best friends I got is colored.” Unfortunately, housing discrimination is nothing new. According to legal director Sean J. Young, filed the lawsuit on Sutton’s behalf, “Housing discrimination is one of the most pernicious forms of discrimination today. It contributes to inequality and  can serve to limit the long-term dreams and aspirations of its victims. Where you live determines how you live.” The eviction dispute ended up in court in October 2018, when the judge ordered the couple to give Sutton at least 60 days to move. The woman moved out later that year.

Is Your Partner ‘Gaslighting’ You? Peep These Signs Of Emotional Manipulation

Source: Unknown / Getty A typical experience with gaslighting may go something like this: You present an issue you are having to a partner, and they react by saying “you’re too sensitive!” or “you’re crazy.” Gaslighters deflect any responsibility away from your legit feelings and instead pin their behavior on you. While the example highlighted above is a light example, its roots can definitely get deeper and more insidious. Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news.  ( Terms and conditions ). According to Psychology Today, “The term gaslighting originated from the 1944 film Gaslight , in which a husband systematically tormented his wife by convincing her that she’s insane, thereby robbing her objectivity and self-worth .” Sound familiar? You’re not alone. A lot of women are unknowing participants in a relationship where their significant other is chronic gaslighter and they don’t even know it. Most gaslights are liars or spin masters–they turn any narrative on its head in order to take the heat off themselves and put it on you. By definition, “the gaslighter takes the focus off of his or her significant weaknesses, flaws, and inadequacies, which the gaslighter is deeply afraid of exposing. Through constant lying and exaggerations, the gaslighter keeps his victims on the defensive and maintains social and psychological leverage.” Repeated exposure to this kind of behavior can leave you stifled, unable to express your feelings out of fear your partner will attack you emotionally. This psychological gagging is how the gaslighter stays empowered. The aggressor may even become hostile when confronted about their behaviors, thus scaring their partner into silence. On par with other emotional abusers, gaslights may begin to isolate their victims from their friends and loved ones, hoping to keep them far away from the truth. “By deploying demagoguery tactics such as “us versus them,” “divide and conquer,” “isolate and control,” “enemies are everywhere,” and “I’m your only hope,” the gaslighter places the gaslightee in a psychological straight jacket, and further establishes an authoritarian relationship,” Psychology Today explains. It takes time and patience to unhinge yourself from a gaslighter’s lies and manipulation, but awareness if the first step towards healing. A Texas Police Department Is Under Fire Following A Photo Showing Officers Walking A Black Man On A Leash

The police chief in Galveston, Texas is apologizing after two of his officers, who were mounted on horseback, led a handcuffed suspect by a rope through the downtown streets. Photos of the Saturday incident went viral on social media over the weekend, causing outrage among everyone who saw it. The two officers linked the rope to handcuffs worn by 43-year-old criminal trespass suspect Donald Neely and led him around the block to a mounted patrol staging area. What you did here to this man, Donald Neely, is horrible and unacceptable. I would say “We need answers,” but nothing you can say would ever justify what you did to this man. Nothing at all. pic.twitter.com/OdVeqrFDcv — Shaun King (@shaunking) August 6, 2019 In a statement on Monday, following the public outcry for these officers to be fired, Police Chief Vernon Hale said “this is a trained technique and best practice in some scenarios,” such as with crowd control. However, he said he believes his officers “showed poor judgment in this instance and could have waited for a transport unit at the location of arrest.” He also added that his department has “immediately changed the policy” to prevent use of the technique. The statement concluded with, “We understand the negative perception of this action and believe it is most appropriate to cease the use of this technique. The Police Chief has taken immediate action to suspend this technique of transportation during arrests.” Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Close Thank you for subscribing!
