Source: Getty Welp all that ratchet behavior comes with a cost and it might include jail time for the family members involved in that ridiculous Disneyland brawl that was caught on camera. Three of the adults are being charged with assault, domestic battery and child endangerment just to name a few. SMH via: TMZ The fight erupted in Toontown — right in the middle of throngs of kids and families. You hear one of the people in the fight say, “I’m ready to go to jail tonight.” That person seems to also reference a Southern California gang. Just before the fight breaks out, you hear someone in the video talk about disrespecting family. You see a woman spit on the guy in pink and all hell breaks loose. One of the people charged — 35-year-old Avery Robinson (the guy in pink) was hit with 5 felonies for allegedly beating up his girlfriend. He’s charged with domestic battery and assault with a deadly weapon. And, since his kid was in the middle of the fight, along with 3 other children, he’s also been charged with child abuse and endangerment. It seems like you’re constantly giving, giving yourself to the kids, spouse, work, everything but yourself. View this post on Instagram #WednesdayWisdom A post shared by TV One (@tvonetv) on Jul 24, 2019 at 3:56am PDT Know when it’s time to take a break: We often work ourselves to the bone. Our life is consistently busy and working through our break until we are burnt out, isn’t healthy. If you work 8 hour days and haven’t take your lunch, take it. If you’ve been working every day and sitting a ton of paid time off, take it off. Reward yourself: You deserve a reward. Go get your nails or hair done. Get a massage and pamper yourself. You never know how good it feels to have someone do something for you. Simply going to grab a bite to eat can do you just fine. Keep a journal: A psychiatrist is great because we all need to speak out our issues to someone, that will help us see the clearer picture. Sometimes you may have the time to sit down and talk to a psychiatrist. You can always keep a journal, so you can see the vision in front of you. When you tell yourself negative things, that is what you will start to believe. Positive affirmations are more successful than you think. Daily you can repeat the same one or find different ones that will satisfy your thoughts. “Today, I choose me.” Remove negative relationships from your life: You ever hear, “Good Vibes Only”? That’s what you deserve. Remove the gossipers and naysayers. You shouldn’t have anyone around you that treats you less than the amazing individual that you are. Victoria Said It
Source: Andrew Chin / Getty A$AP Rocky has been fighting for his freedom since being jailed in Sweden after an altercation with an overzealous fan. Now, the A$AP Mob star has been charged with criminal assault and faces up to two years in jail. TMZ reports : A$AP Rocky has just been charged with a crime after spending weeks in a Swedish jail … prosecutors just hit him with Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm stemming from a street brawl in the country’s capital .. and if convicted he could spend 2 years behind bars. The prosecutor said A$AP will continue to be held in jail pending a trial … and the trial date has not been set, although it could be today. A rep for the prosecutor tells TMZ the trial will be held within the next 2 weeks. The prosecutor expects the trial will last 3 days. Two members of Rocky’s crew have also been charged with the same crime and they will also be held pending trial. The Swedish prosecutor just boasted he had access to more information than people on the internet. He said he’s reviewed video and also talked to witnesses, and determined the claims by Rocky and his 2 crew members of self defense and provocation didn’t hold water, despite the fact the alleged victim is the one who unrelentingly harassed and attacked Rocky and his crew first. The prosecutor in the case said in an update that he does not intend to seek the full two-year sentence but the final ruling ultimately comes down to what gets revealed in the upcoming trial. — Photo: Getty
Source: Leon Bennett / Getty It’s girls trip time on Basketball Wives , and the drama is about to turn up because a few of these immature banshees don’t like each other. The setting is San Diego, in case you forgot, and the episode begins with them settling into their house for the weekend. There’s a lot of tension in the room when they start to gather. Evelyn isn’t cool with Jenn, OG isn’t cool with Malaysia or Kristen, and Shaunie thinks it’s a good idea to get everyone together for dinner. Evelyn is adamant that she’s not going to dinner because Jennifer is going, and so is Jenn’s friend, Dominique, who Evelyn also accused of talking smack about her. It’s just a bunch of negative energy. There’s even a moment where the entire group inevitably gets together and Jackie says they need to get rid of the elephant in the room. Evelyn tries to get Jenn to own up to the things she said about her daughter…again. Obviously, this goes all the way left. Jenn doesn’t own up to anything…again, and they get to going back and forth…again. Jenn says some slick ish that sets Evelyn off. Evelyn threatens Jenn, surprise surprise. Evelyn even fake tries to fight Jenn. Basketball Wives security ain’t Love and Hip-Hop status but this time they actually do hold Evelyn back. Evelyn throws water on Jenn, Jenn throws water on Evelyn, nothing gets resolved. Look, Evelyn is going to have to move on. Jenn is probably never going to admit to talking about Shaniece. In fact, Jennifer reiterates that she never said anything malicious about Shaniece, even though Malaysia, Jackie, and Shaunie all heard it. Then Evelyn directs her anger toward Dominique, and they almost get into it too but security stops them. Let’s fast forward a bit. Now Jenn is with Dominique, Shaunie, Jackie, and OG talking about her mother again aka deflecting. She’s also talking about how she has no one and how they’re supposed to be a sisterhood and that she doesn’t feel the sisterhood again. Then, waterworks. Like, sobbing . This is emotional manipulation but it’s working. The rest of them believe Jenn is being genuine. Not that she’s not hurting, because she probably is, but this has nothing to do with her owning up to the things she said. Just when you’re about to finally give up, for real, for real, Jenn says she “May have said some things, and that she apologizes if she ever offended anyone.” This is the closest thing to an admission that Evelyn is going to get. Jackie and Shaunie think this is a breakthrough, so they tell Jenn to come to the group dinner and tell Evelyn exactly what she just told them. Shaunie runs and tells Evelyn about the conversation with Jennifer and how Jennifer says she’s lonely, etc. Evelyn comes to tears because she’s struggling to move forward with Jennifer knowing that Jenn won’t own up to her stuff, and this is exhausting. Shaunie tells Evelyn the apology is coming. Now we’re at dinner. Jackie puts Jennifer on the spot and asks if she’s ready to apologize. Jenn says she thinks she has done that already. Guess what? Issa backtrack! Jenn, in her confessional, says she’s not talking about it at the table in front of women this has nothing to do with. This makes sense, but she said something to the contrary earlier, so now Jackie and Shaunie are confused and annoyed and they feel like Jenn lied to them, as if they didn’t already know who they were dealing with. Again, Jenn’s emotional manipulation fooled them. Things take a surprising turn when Jenn finally gets Evelyn alone the next day and actually apologizes. It’s still a kinda-sorta apology to the tune of being s orry for anything she may have said that was negative about Shaniece and for making Evelyn and Shaniece feel as if she doesn’t love them. Evelyn comes to tears and says Shaniece considered Jenn like an aunt so she doesn’t understand what she did to Jenn that was so bad that she’d do what she did. Jenn gives Evelyn a hug and says she doesn’t want to fight with her and that she’s sorry. An actual, “Sorry!” Finally. They finally agree to move forward. The drama stops there for this episode but it picks up next week when OG reveals to Feby that she found out about her diss track, and also mentions that she could kill her with her bare hands but won’t. Lordt. See you next Wednesday. RELATED POSTS ‘Basketball Wives’ Recap: Shaunie Fights The Urge To Lay Hands on Jennifer ‘Basketball Wives’ Recap: It’s The Jennifer Is Over Party

Source: Jesse Grant/Getty Images for Comedy Central Exclusive Bashir Salahuddin & Diallo Riddle Interview Most everyday people only care about the stars but it’s the Diallo Riddles and Bashir Salahuddins of the very small and very white world of Hollywood that power everything we love about the talent-thirsty industry. Once upon a time (seemingly before Al Gore invented the internet orrr something like that), you never met the creatives, visionaries or showrunners behind your favorite shows, but now, more than ever before, they’re on the forefront of promo campaigns like our new favorite duo Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin who went from “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” to cultivating their very own Comedy Central show. A refreshingly authentic series about Chicago called “South Side” that’s hilarious when it’s not revealing the heart, soul and beautiful sense of community that make the city so special. Billed as an aspirational comedy, the series follows two friends who just graduated community college with dreams of taking over the world but there’s one small problem: They’re stuck at Rent-T-Own–an endearingly run down rent-to-own store that attracts the south side’s most ridiculous characters (who, in one episode, refuse to return an X-Box). Think Donald Glover’s “Atlanta” but in Chicago (which you undoubtedly will) until you realize the series has a different energy that makes it completely unique. That, and the naturally funny cast of regular-smegular people from the community sprinkled into cleverly written episodes. As fans of great TV, we loved the music, zippy editing, cinematography, relatable characters in relatable situations, guest stars (we won’t spoil it), attention to very Black details and classic ’90s sitcom feel that set the tone for an amazing interview with two of Black Hollywood’s brightest talents. How did you get your big idea to Comedy Central? [Bashir] “South Side was very organic. Diallo and I always wanted to do a show about one of our hometowns–we actually developed a couple ideas around Atlanta (where I’m from) unfortunately we hit some walls with those. And then, with “South Side,” we really looked around the landscape and tried to figure out who was filming comedies that felt unfiltered and pure and we just felt like between The Chappelle Show, Key & Peele–we just felt like Comedy Central just kept making shows where you were seeing great stuff and it felt like the comedians were really doing the jokes the way they want to do them, how they want to do them. At the same time, whenever I’m home for Thanksgiving and Christmas I would be hangin’ out with my boys and just lmao and it kinda reminded me of the friendship me and Diallo have and other friendships that he has and it’s like ‘wait a second, we have all these great, funny people in our lives’ and if you ask most people who the funniest person they know is they’ll say ‘oh my cousin is hilarious, my auntie is so funny’ and, you know, it’s like ‘well, let’s put those people on camera’ So, we really developed a show about these two guys who are fresh out of community college and now they wanna take over the world. So, you know, it’s a blue collar vibe but it’s really starring a lot of Chicago people who have not even done a lot of acting–just naturally funny people. …my wife is in, my brother is the main character, two of my boys from high school are in it, Diallo is it, a lot of our family and friends are in it… and it’s just people in our lives who make us laugh naturally and what we ended up with was this really hilarious show that shows people a side of Chicago they don’t get to see, especially the south side, and showing people that we can have fun and we can laugh and be light and silly and all those things… And it’s still as authentic as something heavier. I know a lot of Chicago-based shows deal with pretty tough stuff and it’s like ‘yea, that stuff has a place and then we also have a place too where we can have fun’ because I think there’s nothing wrong with enjoying ourselves” We have to ask this question–because, working in this space we know you had to present this to people who may not look like us -[Diallo] Oh yea! Yes! We don’t want to say the room was mostlyyyy white buttttt –[Diallo and Bashir] “It was all white!” (laughs) [Bashir] “The President of Comedy Central, you know, he’s just somebody who really gets it and came to us four years before we pitched the show and was like ‘look, I think you guys are great if you ever wanna do a show come and see me–let’s figure something out’ Sometimes people say that and what thats means–and I think this is what you’re speaking to–it means they wanna throw some names on there that’ll satisfy some sort of diversity interest but ultimately still develop something that looks like everything else and has the same tired vibe as everything else. Kent Alterman of Comedy Central was the opposite–he was like ‘no, no, what do yall really want to do and he actually championed it and supported it and there were definitely a lot of notes and things we had to figure out but every single frame of that show is our vision and I think it shows in what you saw and doesn’t feel like something that was watered down. The City of Chicago is not a soft place–it’s a hard place–and I think luckily for us our comedy is a hard, sharp comedy that’s about some tough stuff BUT they were super supportive and like ‘tell your truth’ And so, the answer to your question really is that we just made the right choice in who we partnered with and I would encourage all people who are developing projects to really think hard about who you work with because if you make the right choice the person will help you create value and broaden what you’re doing in a wonderful way And if you make the wrong choice you’ll look up and wonder like ‘what is this we made this looks nothing like I wanted to make -[Diallo]- “Yea” – so we got lucky” Do you talk to other showrunners and creators in the space? [Bashir & Diallo] “All the time!” [Bashir] “We literally just hosted Issa Rae at the Clusterfest in San Francisco and she couldn’t be more of a delight and an intelligent, genius showrunner and helluva talent. And to be able to just chat with her about the process of showrunning and to know that we have a somewhat similar background because we got our start doing web material and she got her start on Awkward Black Girl–she created it and was doing her own thing–and to know we share the DNA of people who did their own thing before TV figured us out–that was special” What would be a success, in your eyes, for “South Side?” [Bashir] “For me, I always tell people that what you see about Chicago on the news is a small piece of a very big pie and we’re gonna give you the rest of the pie. And, you know, we feel like if the city of Chicago, especially Black Chicago, if more and more people start to think first ‘hey, isn’t that the funny place where everybody is really hilarious and has a good time’ vs. ‘hey, isn’t that the place where I just saw somebody who got hurt on the news’ You know, that is beginning to move the dial in the right direction. I don’t just want people on the outside to see that and think that about Chicago. My deeper goal is to have the people who actually live there begin to also self-identify moreso–which they already do but you just don’t hear about it–but self-identify moreso as a place of joy, as a place of comedy, in the same way Harlem is all about culture, specifically Black culture [Diallo] “I’m the only person involved in the show who didn’t grow up in Chicago but, as a person who didn’t, I can guarantee you that not only will you come out of it feeling like you know a lot more about Chicago but you’ll also understand all the ways that the south side of Chicago has similarities and relationships with all the other south sides of Atlanta, Inglewood, North Philly–all the neighborhoods where we are–you’ll understand the humanity that exists in Chicago and you’ll be a lot less likely to believe lies that get spread when people say it’s all violence and mayhem” Source: Comedy Central “South Side” debuts tonight at 10:30/9:30c on Comedy Central!
Source: Gilbert Carrasquillo / Getty Meek Mill’s Drug And Gun Conviction Thrown Out By Appeal Court It’s been one helluva day for Meek Mill . Earlier this morning we reported that the Philly rapper inked a joint venture with Jay-Z and Roc Nation for his very own DreamChasers record label. Now, the AP is reporting that the drug and gun conviction that has plagued Meek for over a decade has FINALLY been thrown out! Three judges unanimously agreed that the new evidence in Meek’s case warranted his conviction be tossed a new trial be granted. This is HUGE life-changing news for Meek because it means that if he is found not guilty, he will no longer be under the cynical eye of the probation system and will no longer have to fear going back to prison for something as silly as popping a wheelie on a motor bike. To that end, the court tossed out the “parole violations” handed down by janky judge Genece Brinkley, and in a rare move, removed her from his case entirely. God is good.
