Source: Mario Tama / Getty President Donald Trump was a harsh critic of the so-called Central Park Five , five teens who were accused of a heinous attack on a jogger in Central Park 30 years ago. Despite evidence clearing the men of the crime and an admission of guilt from the man who carried out the act, Trump refuses to give an apology to the men who now call themselves the “Exonerated Five.” Deadline reports : When asked today by White House correspondent April Ryan if he would apologize to the five men who were falsely accused of a brutal rape, but were later completely exonerated, Trump asked Ryan, “Why do you bring that question up now? It’s an interesting time to bring it up.” Trump continued, “You have people on both sides of that. They admitted their guilt. If you look at Linda Fairstein, and you look at some of the prosecutors, they think that the city should never have settled that case. So we’ll leave it at that.” Trump in 1989 bought full page ads in New York City newspapers calling for the reinstatement of the death penalty in New York following the arrest of the five then-teens ― four of whom were black and one Hispanic ― in connection with the rape of a white jogger in Central Park. The horrific tale of abuse and injustice suffered by the Exonerated Five was detailed in grand detail via Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us series on Netflix. Months later in a recent interview with Variety , for the first time Wade is publicly talking about why supporting his 11-year-old son and his sexual orientation is his job as a parent. “I don’t really talk about it much because it’s Zion’s story to tell,” Wade told the entertainment website at  Cannes Lions , the annual advertising conference in the South of France. “I think as a family, we should support each other. That’s our job. Don’t put your wants and needs on them.” Wade also shared that he was taken aback when he realized that supporting his son was met with backlash on social media. “I’m very uneasy about accolades that come from supporting my kids or the negativity that comes from it. I’m doing what every parent has to do. Once you bring kids into this world, you become unselfish. It’s my job to be their role model, to be their voice in my kids’ lives, to let them know you can conquer the world. So, go and be your amazing self and we’re going to sit back and just love you,” he said. Just a few months after doing his first post-prison show in a hot minute, TMZ is reporting that Dark Man X is also getting back on his Hollywood grind and will be taking on the role of a homicide detective in the upcoming film Chronicle of A Serial Killer . The movie features Brendan Sexton as a serial murderer … and DMX is playing Detective White, who’s trying to track down the killer. Tara Reid , Eric Roberts  and Aly Mang are also starring in the film. X was able to land the role after Michael Madsen ( Kill Bill ) caught a DUI charge in Malibu back in April and was booted from the film. The director, Steve Stanulis , tells TMZ … when his casting director suggested X for the role, he knew it was a perfect fit, and the rapper didn’t even have to audition. Steve says he has no doubt DMX is “going to bring a different dynamic to the role.”  Judging from the fact that Tara Reid is considered a lead in the film, we’re guessing that Chronicle of A Serial Killer will be a straight to DVD or TV production, but we can’t hate at all. We’re just glad to see the “Slippin’” rapper on steady ground and getting on with his life. We can’t wait to see X do his thing on film again. — Photo: WENN

Source: South_agency / Getty A community in South Los Angeles is gathered in outrage after new details continue to develop regarding the shooting of an unarmed Black father of three earlier in the month. Ryan Twyman was sitting inside a vehicle on June 6 when LAPD officers approached and began firing over 30 rounds according to witness accounts. KTLA reports : Ryan Twyman, a father of three, was shot dead in the parking lot of an apartment complex at San Pedro and 132nd streets on the evening of June 6. Deputies had approached a car Twyman was inside just before firing shots, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The 24-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. He was still inside a vehicle when he died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to corner’s officials. Speculation about the number of times Twyman was shot has surfaced in dozens of social media posts in the days since. But the Sheriff’s Department has released few details — no information about how many times he was shot and no description of any crime he may have been suspected of. The department has, however, confirmed that no weapon was found at the scene. Compton rapper The Game took to Instagram to address Los Angeles authorities about Twyman’s death. “I can remember us having a conversation about bettering Los Angeles awhile back on both sides of the ball. You were genuine & from what I could see a good human that wanted change just as much as us. Well now I’m calling on you @mayorofla Eric Garcetti……. We need answers on how Los Angeles Sheriff’s could shoot my family #RyanTwyman 37 times while unarmed & murder him in cold blood ???” reads a portion of Game’s caption on an Instagram photo of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
