JT, one half of the City Girls, was just released from prison after numerous fake promises of release. The Miami native was sentenced over a year go due to fraud-related charges. She ended up being sentenced shortly after the City Girls wave took off and that removed her from all of the celebrity and fame her counterpart has been soaking up. While she was away, the City Girls have snatched up multiple hits including “Act Up” and “Twerk” featuring Cardi B. Before she went in to serve her time, the girl group released a documentary showcasing the days leading up to her surrender. Hopefully, we get a part 2 showcasing Yung Miami’s pregnancy and her passing the torch to JT while she takes time off for her bundle of joy . But for now, we can look forward to JT’s impending “First Day Out” Freestyle. If you aren’t familiar with why she’s releasing a freestyle first thing after getting out of jail, it’s been a trend for Southern rappers for quite some time to release a song within the first 24 hours of release. Most famous for this is the one and only Gucci Mane’s “First Day Out,” which is now a Southern hip-hop classic! Congrats to JT on finally being released and coming home to what’s sure to be a whole lot of love from fans. Everyone has been waiting on this moment since JT and Yung Miami got huge, and with Quality Control on their team, there’s no telling how much more popular they’ll get now that the City Girls are back together. After being arrested immediately following his November 2018 Breakfast Club interview , the rapper was hit some serious RICO charges–charges which a lot of people were assuming would be his demise. Tekashi took the stand and told on everyone under the sun in a case that had more plot twists than a SAW movie. Kidnapping , shootings, paid hits: it all seems like the perfect biopic for prime time TV. An now, it looks like 6ix9ine may be free to play himself it that ever actually happens. After his testimony helped put away most of the Nine Trey Bloods (which is a prison gang mostly anyway), prosecutors asked for his sentencing to be moved up from its initially scheduled date in January/February of 2020. To absolutely no one’s surprise, the judge approved this request and the new date is now set for December 28, 2019 . This approval almost guarantees a time served sentencing and immediate release back into the free world. This latest news comes after a weird press release where the has apparently declined witness protection. If Tekashi does end up being held or doing any of the time in front of him, it would be surprising to a lot of people–but after the performance he put on while on the stand it looks like the state of New York is ready to let him free. In this scenario, we really don’t know which one would be safer for the rapper, but it looks like we’ll find out sooner than later. Whether or not you’re a fan of Tekashi 6ix9ine, it’s safe to say this is going to be an interesting saga to watch to say the least.

But according to reports, Trebek’s time as the legendary’s show’s host may be coming to an end. In an interview with Canada’s CTV television network , Trebek revealed that his chemotherapy treatments are starting to affect his speech. “I talk to the producers about this all the time now. I say, ‘Look, I’m slurring my words. My tongue doesn’t work as much, as well as it used to. The chemo has caused sores inside my mouth. It makes it difficult for me to speak and enunciate properly,’” He continued: “I’m sure there are observant members of the television audience that notice also, but they’re forgiving,” he added. “But there will come a point when they will no longer be able to say, ‘It’s OK.’” You may recall that back in March, the 79-year old revealed that he’d been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. However, he vowed in the TV interview to continue to fight. “We’ll play it by ear and keep chugging along until we either win or lose. I’ve lived a good life, a full life, and I’m nearing the end of that life… If it happens, why should I be afraid of that?” Let’s keep Trebek and his family in our prayers.

According to CBS News , Perry hosted a grand opening for his massive Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta this past weekend. The film complex covers 330 acres and includes 12 sound stages. It’s actually larger than the Burbank, California lots owned by Walt Disney Studios, Warner Bros and Paramount combined. If that isn’t news enough, Perry is the first Black American to own a major film studio, period. Celebrity attendees for the grand opening included samuel l. jackson , oprah winfrey , beyoncé and Spike Lee . Perry went on to say that despite Hollywood not getting him, “I know what I do is important. I know what I do touches millions of people around the world. I know how important every word, every joke, every laugh [is]. I know what that does for the people where I come from and the people that I’m writing for. So, yeah, I get that.” Perry is the creative behind 22 movies, 20 plays and eight TV shows. All of his work has led to this moment. He explained: “I know for a fact that when I drive in through these gates, onto this 330 acres and see these 12 sound stages, and see the highway sign that says ‘Tyler Perry Studios’ as you’re making to the exit in here, as I come in here and I see these hundreds of people working, these black and brown – I’ve been on sets where I’ve been the only black face on, only black face , as recently as 2019 going, ‘Where are the black people in this movie?’ Back behind the camera? So, when I come to work here and every black person that comes to work here they go, ‘Oh my God, it’s heaven. Here we are. We’re represented.’ Where everybody’s represented. LGBTQ’s represented. Black, white, gay, straight, whatever. We’re all represented, working hand-in-hand, arm-in-arm.” Tyler Perry Studios was built on part of Fort McPherson military base, which was once used by the Confederate army. Perry called it “poetic justice” that his Black-owned studio is now housed on land that was once used to uphold slavery. The 12 sound stages at Tyler Perry Studios are each named after seminal Black actors and actresses including cicely tyson and the recently deceased Diahann Carroll . Included with the 12 sound stages is a full-on replica of The White House where Perry shoots his upcoming BET show “The Oval”. Perry says this is only the beginning for his historical studio. Designed by famous designer Stella McCartney , the brand’s first Post-Mastectomy Sports Bra has been created to empower breast cancer survivors to introduce sport and fitness back into their lives, Adidas wrote in a press release . “With the Post-Mastectomy Sports Bra, I really wanted to encourage women to take care of their health through wellness and self-care. This bra allows us to support recovering patients through the next phase of their journey, and hopefully give them the confidence to get back into training. It has a cool and modern look that will help motivate the wearer, as well as assuring them, they are not [the] odd one out in the gym,” explained McCartney, whose mother died of the disease in 1998. As a professional athlete, I was used to relying on my body but after my mastectomy, I started to lose belief in myself and how my body would react. When I was ready to get back into fitness, I couldn’t find a sports bra that didn’t require being pulled over my head or lacked in support. Now I wear the Post-Mastectomy Sports Bra every time I train – it is comfortable and supportive and has helped me build back my confidence to get back into the game,” the mother and mentor explained. The bra, which costs $69, has a front-closure zipper, inner pockets with removable pads, and adjustable straps. In addition, the seams were all placed specifically around the arms to “reduce discomfort and irritation to areas of the skin prone to sensitivity due to surgical scarring.” It comes in two colors: Pink and black.
