Last month, Amy Duggar posted photos from her baby shower , and fans were quick to point out that something seemed seriously amiss. Though it appeared to be a well-attended affair, it looked as though none of Amy’s famous cousins were in attendance. As you can see, the first pic posted by Amt featured several close friends, but no Counting On cast members. Because everything the Duggars do is dissected within an inch of its life these days, Amy’s comments section quickly exploded with inquiries as to her cousins’ whereabouts. She didn’t employ the usual Duggar strategy of simply ignoring the comments entirely. But she also didn’t provide an in-depth explanation of why Jill, Jessa, and company were missing from her first pics. Instead, Amy simply posted a pair of new photos, including the one above, proof positive that a wide array of Jim Bob’s daughters were in attendance. It seems it was a joyous afternoon for all in attendance, especially Amy, who — while she’s admittedly terrified of giving birth — is said to be absolutely thrilled with the prospect of welcoming her first child. But as Amy’s second pic reminds us, the afternoon was bittersweet for one attendee. Joy-Anna Duggar suffered a miscarriage back in July, and thus, was not included in a photo that featured all of the Duggar women who are currently pregnant. When one fan inquired as to Joy’s absence, Anna explained that her cousin was forced to “leave early.” She did not provide a reason for the premature departure, but did praise Joy-Anna’s strength. “She is a beautiful person and is so strong,” Anna replied. “We all love her so much!” Many concluded that Joy-Anna decided to take off early as attending a baby shower so soon after her miscarriage proved to be more than she could handle emotionally. We may never know for sure, but it’s not hard to see how the afternoon might have been a profoundly difficult one for the 21-year-old. Meghan Markle has found herself in the hot seat once again. And this time it is all because she is too dang good of a friend! (seriously) After the Duchess made a secret getaway to New York City to watch her bestie Serena Williams play in the US Open, sources have now confirmed that the royals are royally pissed . According to Radar Online, the weekend of the Tennis Championship also happened to fall on the royal family’s Highland Games event at Balmoral Castle. Which Meghan was apparently “too busy” for, even though it was earlier reported by the Mail On Sunday that she and Prince Harry were set to attend the event. Hmm.. *sips tea.* Markle tried her best to keep her recent American travels on the DL as she quietly flew solo to NYC on Friday, successfully leaving on Sunday with little to no street paparazzi interferences, according to Page Six . A royal insider also shared that after Meghan’s talk-of-the-town baby shower , she learned her lesson. “After all the big fanfare of her [last NYC] trip for her two-day baby shower, where paparazzi followerd her every move and staked out The Mark Hotel to catch Meghan, her famous friends, and the array of gifts arriving, it seems Meghan has learned her lesson.” The poor girl just wanted to cheer on her bestie without being scrutinized! “She was in New York to support Serena, and catch up with a few other old friends, but was determined to keep everything low-key and as under-the-radar as possible,” shared the source. Unfortunately, it’s really not that possible. Instead, the whole world now knows that Meghan left baby Archie at home, boarded a (yep, commercial!) plane , took to the big apple, and in the royal’s minds she chose, once again, her famous friends over them. Dun, dun, dun… Scotland’s Braemar Gathering for the Highland Games — which includes a hammer throw and tug of war — has taken place for almost nine hundred years and it’s the royal family’s job to make an annual appearance to show their support to the competitors. They also take the time to enjoy a nice family vacay in Scotland while at the games. This event is an old-fashioned royal protocol and, once again, Meghan would rather not . And we do NOT blame her. While the Queen, her son Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, and other royals attended the event, Meghan and Harry’s spokesperson said they were “too busy” and Archie, at four months, was still “too young” to make the trip. Which only lasts 1 hour in flight duration… we’re seriously wondering what this couple will use to get out of wretched family events when Archie is too old to use as an excuse . The new mom, however, took the 3,500-mile flight to NY to sit in the stands to support her pal… which she did, in a very cute denim dress. Serena ended up losing the match to Bianca Andreescu of Canada, who walked away with the $3.85 million prize, but we’re sure it was still more entertaining than the ancient games taking place back in Europe. According to a source from The Mail on Sunday, the Queen felt “hurt” by Meghan’s absence as she intended to bring together her friends and family. And on top of her disappointment, the publication shared that the Queen is also “baffled” by Meghan and Harry’s lack of protocol. Yikes . To have the Queen of England “hurt” and/or “baffled” by you sounds like easily one of the most horrifying things, but on behalf of the Duchess, we’re proud of her for supporting her friend and for holding on to her life. Markle has been blasted too many times to count, from the British press dubbing her a diva to claims that she appears to be more comfortable hanging out with her celebrity friends than doing her royal duties. John Wesley, a long-time actor likely best known for his role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, died Saturday after a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was 72 years old. Gerry Pass, Wesley’s manager and producer, confirmed this unfortunate news in a statement that read: John Wesley was a gift to the world, for his kindness and grace are immortalized in his works of theatre, TV and film. I am heartbroken to have lost a dear friend today. A veteran of the Vietnam War and a graduate of UCSD with a MFA degree, Wesley had over 100 roles in film and television on his resume… including an episode of the aforementioned sitcom where he played the father of a girl that bullied Will’s cousin, Ashley. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, of course, is the show on which Will Smith for his giant break. Wesley may be a familiar face to almost anyone who has watched television over the past couple decades, however. He also played Mr. Jim, the barber shop owner on Martin and the all-knowing janitor Willie on The Jamie Foxx Show. The actor’s dramatic TV guest roles included appearances on JAG, Hill Street Blues and In the Heat of the Night. Over the course of a very impressive career, Wesley worked with talens such as Denzel Washington, Albert Finney, Barbra Streisand, Tim Burton and Morgan Freeman. Here is a blurry photo of him acting alongside Smith: In the wake of Wesley’s passing, numerous stars, fans and organizations have taken to social media in order to pay tribute to the late actor. “We are honored to have had John Wesley at our festival. Farewell dear man. Journey well. We send our love with you. Thank you, John,” the Hollywood Women’s Film Festival organization wrote, for example. “We send our love to John’s family and to our beloved Michael Learned, our friend Producer Gerry Pass and the entire cast and crew,” the group added. A Facebook commenter also came across the news and wrote: “I actually cried reading the article only [because] his work was so moving and level of shows and tv is astonishing to say the least. She may not be a housewife, but we’re guessing Felicity Huffman is feeling mighty desperate these days, Along with fellow actress Lori Loughlin, Huffman is one of the faces of the college admissions bribery scandal , which made tabloid headlines back in March and continues to create endless legal nightmares for many well-heeled, but ethically-deficient parents. Basically, Loughlin and Huffman stand accused of handing out bribes in order to ensure their children’s admission to top colleges. Loughlin refused a plea deal and is planning to fight her charges in front of a judge. Huffman accepted a deal from prosecutors — but it looks like the court is still planning to make an example of her. According to documents filed on Friday, the U.S. Attorney’s office is recommending that Huffman pay a fine of $20,000 and serve one month in federal prison. “Huffman’s conduct was deliberate and manifestly criminal: it was wrong, she knew it was wrong, and she actively participated in manipulating her daughter’s guidance counselor, the testing services and the schools to which her daughter applied,” the documents read. “Her efforts weren’t driven by need or desperation, by a sense of entitlement, or at least moral cluelessness, facilitated by wealth and insularity,” prosecutors wrote. “Millions of parents send their kids to college every year. “All of them care as much as she does about the children’s fortunes. But they don’t buy fake SAT scores and joke about (‘Ruh ro!’) along the way.” The “Ruh ro!” remark is a reference to a comment Huffman made in an email to co-conspirator Rick Singer when she learned that her daughter’s high school would be using its own proctor for the SAT, which would make it more difficult for her daughter to cheat on the exam. Needless to say, it sounds as though prosecutors are taking Huffman’s case quite personally — and she’s certainly not receiving much sympathy from the public. According to TMZ, 27 people submitted letters of support defending Huffman’s actions, including her husband, William H. Macy, and her Desperate Housewives co-star Eva Longoria. But it doesn’t sound like those B-list pleas will be enough to keep Huffman from serving time. We imagine Loughlin — who, again, refused the deal that was offered to her by prosecutors — is shaking in her designer boots at the moment.
In early August, we knew that Matt Brown planned to return to Alaskan Bush People . But that was far from official. The truth of the matter is that he had burned some bridges with his family. Now, however, Matt has not only proven himself with his folks, he’s signed the paperwork — which is good news for fans in more ways than one. Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown spent months estranged from his family — especially from his father, Billy Brown. See, Matt’s struggles with alcoholism landed him in rehab about a year ago. After that, he had the support of his family to remain sober, but ended up having some stumbles along the way — as many addicts do. Unfortunately, along the way, he had a major falling out with his dad and ended up storming off to SoCal. There, he reportedly hung out with a girlfriend and, though he retained contact with some family (including Ami), essentially ghosted the new homestead. That, folks, is why Matt was a no-show in Season 10. But there is good news. As we reported, Matt headed up to Washington early last month to spend a week hanging out with his folks. While there, he had a nice long talk with his dad and the two of them mended fences. He was even invited back to the show. You could view this good news through a cynical lens and say that Matt just wanted that sweet reality TV paycheck. Regardless, he’s back with his family and soon will be back on camera. At the time, however, there was no official announcement. However, SoapDirt has now revealed that Matt has taken the next step. Apparently he has now signed the paperwork to appear on the show again for Season 11. Now, here is the twist — and a fun surprise for fans. Discovery hasn’t actually announced that the show has been renewed for Season 11 yet. Fans get nervous when a show is in limbo. Sometimes they’re just waiting to announce, but other times it’s a way of preparing audiences for cancelation news. But you don’t generally sign paperwork for a season of a show that the network knows isn’t happening. Which means that Alaskan Bush People is very probably renewed for Season 11. Contrary to some past seasons, Season 11 of Alaskan Bush People was actually in doubt for some fans. While some seasons of the hit reality series have had extraordinary ratings, Season 9 slipped among viewers. That, however, was when the show’s timeslot was moved. For Season 10, the timeslot has been restored and viewership has improved appropriately. Even so, it’s a relief to hear that there are actual contracts for Season 11 being signed and filed. We don’t yet have a premiere date (or an episode count, which is nearly as important) for Season 11. But the mere knowledge that it will exist should be enough to put wind in the sales of longtime fans for months to come. It’s been a rough few weeks for Kailyn Lowry. Between fending off David Eason’s weird trolling attempts , and shooting down rumors that she’s dating Leah Messer , the poor gal’s barely had time to mourn her recently deceased dog. Kailyn just got an adorable new pup for the family, but fans are already jumping down her throat about it. On August 28, Kailyn saddened fans on social media with the news that her beloved Rottweiler Bear had died after facing serious health issues. “I think this is by far the worst week I’ve had in a long time,” Kailyn tweeted during the ordeal. The Teen Mom 2 star’s posts included a loving tribute that showed what a central part of the family Bear had been. But it didn’t take long for Kailyn to find love again. Just over a week later, Kail returned to the web to debut the newest addition to her family, a Cane Corso named Karma. Kailyn chose to introduce the pup in a tweet with a series of cute pics and the simple caption, “Meet Karma.” It was clear Kailyn was super excited about to add Karma to the family. She even went all out with a fake gender reveal, including a pink dog bed, blanket and balloons. Look, it’s not any dumber than when we do it for people. Puppies don’t appreciate the difference between blue and pink any more or less than human babies. The point is, Karma’s a girl, and she has a lot of pink stuff because Kailyn threw her a cute little party. But fans just couldn’t let Kailyn have this one nice thing. Twitter users immediately came for the 27-year-old and her little dog too, lambasting every detail they could find a problem with. Followers took issue with where Kailyn got the dog, when she got it, and most outrageously, even the shape of Karma’s ears! As is plainly visible in the phots, Karma’s ears are cropped. The Cane Corso naturally has longer ears that flop over, but the breed often has its ears cut into a smaller, upright shape. Many fans see this as a cruel and unnatural alteration to a non-consenting animal, and they definitely let their voices be heard. “Please tell me you didn’t clip his ears,” wrote one user, who clearly missed the gender reveal. “Wtf is wrong with you,” they continued, “I’m done.” We recommend knowing at least a bit of what you’re talking about before declaring you’re “done” with an argument you started, but hey whatever. Plenty of others had equally strong opinions about the practice. “That poor baby’s ears,” observed another user in the comments thread “SMFH. Anyone who crops their dogs ears should have it done to them,” they decreed. But some other users were in Kail’s corner this time, or at the very least were advocates of canine ear clipping. “Do your research on the ear cropping of this breed,” wrote one user who came to Kail’s defense. Another commenter did just that, and even had the good sense to post their findings in the thread. A cursory google search turns informs that for the Cane Corso specifically, cropped ears are in the best interest of the dog’s health and safety. “Ok I was going to slam you for the ear cropping,” wrote the user who looked it up. “But researched it first, and I’ll be damned,” they concluded, adding an emoji of a lady shrugging. Take notes, Internet users. We should all aspire to be like this commenter. If you have an opinion, do a bit of research before you present it to the world. Of course, other users disputed this information, and pointed out that breeders are gradually leaving behind the practice of ear cropping, even in breeds where it’s traditional. And for the record, we can totally understand why so many are opposed to the process. It does change the dog’s appearance, and the animal can’t give its permission. Just like human circumcision, there’s a hot debate as to weather it’s necessary for health and hygiene, or just mutilation for the sake of tradition. For her part, Kailyn Lowry is used to getting called out online. And she’s used to defending herself too Kail wants us to know she didn’t make the call on this issue. Karma came into her life with ears already clipped. “Either way,” she wrote, “the ears were cropped before I got her, so that was out of my control.” Of course, that wasn’t enough for some fans, who pointed out that by purchasing a dog with it’s ears cropped, Kailyn is still supporting the practice. “Beautiful dog, and I have no doubt you’ll treat it well,” replied one commenter, “but buying a dog with its ears cropped should be illegal.” We’re not sure we’d go that far. If it’s truly bad for the dog, maybe the practice should be illegal. But we’d hate to see a pup miss out on a good home just because its missing a few tiny pieces. Fortunately, that’s not an issue for Karma, who looks like she settling in beautifully to her new home. The new pooch has been a hit with Kail’s kids and even her other dog, a french bulldog named Gizmo. And naturally, plenty of followers had a problem with that too, finding it callous that Kailyn got a new dog only a week after losing her last one. But Kailyn’s snappy online response to the haters asserts that Karma “is an addition, not a replacement.” Other fans argued over weather or not the Cane Corso is an appropriate breed to be around young children. Still others blasted Kail for buying anything from a breeder when there are so many dogs that need to be rescued from shelters. Unfortunately, pretty much every choice is the wrong one when you live under the microscope like Kailyn does. But we’re glad that even in these rocky times, Kailyn’s family has a new source of joy in Karma. And for Karma, we’re honestly just glad she didn’t end up as Janelle Evans’ new family pet.
