Just say the word “fire” while barbequing, or in the workplace, or in a crowded theater, and you’ll get three completely different but powerful emotional and energetic reactions.” That may explain why certain songs can totally shift your vibration from low to high.You ever notice that even if you listen to a holiday song in July, it starts to feels like Christmas. Source: Xilla Valentine / GlobalGrind Jordan Peele Speaks On Whether Or Not Marvel Is Cinema The comments Martin Scorsese made about Marvel movies not being cinema has been all throughout the headlines for weeks now–and the latest director to weigh in on the debate is Jordan Peele . It all went down during a discussion at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York City on Wednesday, where Peele was asked about Martin Scorsese’s heavy criticism of Marvel. Just as many fans of Peele might imagine, the filmmaker said he’s one into gate-keeping what cinema is and isn’t. He also went on to say that what makes a movie worthwhile is its ability to make an audience feel, particularly while at the movie theater. “I’m not particularly engaged in the ‘What is cinema, what isn’t cinema?’ conversation,” Jordan Peele said, according to the Hollywood Reporter . “My definition of film and what my movie experience is, is movies that you can go and have a theatrical experience, a shared experience with the audience [and] go through emotions: cheers, tears, laughs.” As for Jordan himself, the rapper says he’s actively trying to make movies that will compel people to watch them at the theater. “Those are the movies I’m trying to make, quite frankly. I’m very focused on something that you need to go out to the theater to see while it’s out there because it’s something different.” While there were some rumors that Peele might direct the upcoming Blade film after it was announced at Comic-Con earlier this year, his further comments about superhero films make it clear on why that’s not going to happen. The director spoke on his desire to “see more original material in the theater,” which connects back to what he previously told Rolling Stone about turning down franchise films after the success of Get Out and Us . “It’s a childhood dream to be able to essentially see what you saw in your imagination as a child…But you know, I feel like I only have so much time. I have a lot of stories to tell, and it just doesn’t feel right.”
Well, better late than never, right? Last week, Jenelle Evans announced that she had left David Eason and removed her kids from the home she once shared with her ex. It's a development Teen Mom 2 fans had been hoping for for years, but perhaps no one was more relieved to hear the news than Nathan Griffith. Nathan's son Kaiser had been living with the Easons, and Nathan had good reason to be deeply concerned. No one is safe living with David, least of all a 5-year-old whom Eason has taken a particular dislike to. For now, Kaiser is safe — and it seems Nathan will do anything in his power to help the boy stay that way. Take a look: 1. Healthy, By Comparison Jenelle and Nathan’s relationship was brief, and often very ugly. But compared to her relationship with David, they were the ideal couple. 2. Concerned For Kai Throughout Jenelle and David’s 2-year marriage, Nathan openly expressed concerns for his son’s safety and accused David of child abuse. 3. Legitimate Suspicion Very few people doubted that Nathan’s suspicions were well-founded, except, seemingly, for Jenelle, who accused him of lying about discovering bruises on Kaiser the size and shape of an adult’s hand. 4. Window of Opportunity When David shot and killed Jenelle’s dog back in May, Nathan seized the opportunity to move his son to a safer environment. 5. Silver Lining The shooting led to a CPS investigation which caused the Easons to temporarily lose custody of their kids, all of whom were sent to live with relatives. 6. Come on now, Jacqueline Laurita. Don’t beat around the bush. Tell us how you really feel about Teresa Giudice. Appearing on something called The LookOver Ladies podcast this Tuesday night, Laurita absolutely laid into the polarizing Real Housewives of New Jersey star, referencing the rumor that Teresa cheated on her husband and citing the joint interview she recently did with Joe. “They both did each other wrong,” Laurita said simply, adding in pointed detail: “They both cheated on each other, they both did wrongdoing. “They don’t trust each other. That’s the problem with the marriage — besides the resentment, the time apart, there’s no trust. They don’t trust each other. They both know that each other have been unfaithful.” That seems nearly impossible to disagree with. Joe certainly thinks Teresa cheated and Teresa has flat-out said that she won’t remain in the marriage if/when Joe officially gets deported to Italy. Jacqueline — who ceased being a regular castmember on The Real Housewives of New Jersey in 2014 — went on to say she thinks Teresa resents Joe for a number of reasons … and that she’s never been able to take accountability for her own illegal actions. ( Teresa spent time in jail after pleading guilty to her role in a bankruptcy fraud scheme, and seems like a very awful individual overall.) “She’s a narcissist, sociopath,” Jacqueline said this week. Of Teresa’s financial scheming, the ex-reality star says: She didn’t know everything, but she is not innocent for sure. I know this. And I think that she’s angry at [Joe] because she felt like she spent that time away from her kids, her family, the public embarrassment. A nd also the fact that once she got out, her mom passed away shortly after, and she was very close to her mom, so she looked at it like a time of that year I could’ve spent with my mom before she died, but I had to spend it here. Yes. Because she committed a crime. Teresa has said many times that she won’t move with her daughters to unite the family in Italy, a decision that Laurita finds appalling. “If that was my husband and my husband had to do all that, I would go wherever he went,” Jacqueline said of Joe’s likely deportation to his native country . “When I was in New Jersey, when my husband got the job out here [in California]…it wasn’t an easy decision for me because I had family here obviously, but I still had to pick up my kids, uproot them from their [lives] to move them out here. “I don’t care if my husband had to go out of the country. Laurita went on to say Teresa is forcing her kids to live in a “toxic environment” because they are so often in the press and being teased at school. Laurita also called Teresa a “very calculated manipulator” and continued to trash the Bravo personality: She’s a narcissist, she really believes that she’s like this… She’s famous? She’s infamous! I would never wanna be famous for flipping tables, acting classless, being dumb and being a felon. I’m sorry! I just wouldn’t want that. Giudice was front and center on last night’s Real Housewives of New Jersey premiere ; she clearly isn’t leaving the spotlight any time soon. “It’s actually sad,” Laurita concludes of how Teresa has changed. “When I first met her, she was very lighthearted, ditsy, but always just so funny because she was so stupid. I think that she would just say dumb things, and I would laugh all the time. “I always had laughs with her. It was lighthearted and fun. I wasn’t a threat to her, so she didn’t show that ugly side of her to me because I’m one to praise my friends, I like them to feel good, that’s what I did for her. I helped her out, I made her feel good. “Teresa likes ‘yes’ friends and people who will always agree with her. She likes fans, not friends.” In the end? “She [has] no loyalty to her family, I’ll tell you that right now,” Jacqueline says.
This summer, Joy-Anna Duggar suffered a tragic miscarriage . She and Austin shared their grief with fans. Joy is not the only member of the Duggar family who is pregnant. In a new interview, she explains how she is coping with Kendra, Abbie, and Lauren’s pregnancies when the pain of her miscarriage is so recent. “I thought it was going to be a lot harder,” Joy-Anna recently confessed to Us Weekly . She is referring to “being around [Kendra Duggar (née Caldwell), Abbie Duggar (née Burnett) , Lauren Duggar (née Swanson), and Anna Duggar (née Keller) …” Joy had this concern, of course, “because there are three sisters that are due the same time I was.” “But I was praying that the Lord would help me be excited for them,” she notes. “And I can honestly say that … I’m super excited for them,” Joy-Anna proclaims. “But I try and ask them a lot how they’re doing, how they’re feeling,” she adds. Joy explains that she’s sure to keep up with how they are “because this is an exciting time.” “They have little blessings that they’re adding to their family,” she affirms. But not everything will be as easy, she notes. “Meeting the babies,” Joy-Anna acknowledges. “I feel like that may be hard.” “But it’s not like I’m upset that I’ve lost my baby,” she emphasizes. “I still am excited for them.” Joy explains: “But you think, ‘What would my baby look like? What would she be like?’” Back in early July, Joy-Anna and Austin broke the grim news to their fans and followers. “Today marks one week since we heard these words…” they began, writing on their joint Instagram account. They quoted the doctor: “‘So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement.'” “We had gone in for our 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal,” the couple revealed. “It was a baby girl.” “Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time,” Joy and Austin affirmed. “Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears,” they acknowledged. “But we know that we can trust the Lord.” “In the words of King David after the loss of his baby, “I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me” (2 Sam 12:23),” they recited. Joy and Austin wrote: “We don’t grieve as those who have no hope because we trust that we will see this little one again.” “We named her Annabell Elise,” Joy-Anna and Austin shared with their fans and followers. They explained: “Annabell means ‘God has favored me,’ and Elise means ‘God satisfies.'” “What a precious thing to know that when our daughter opened her eyes,” Joy and Austin expressed. “The first thing she saw was the face of Jesus.” “Please pray for continued healing,” they asked at the time. “Not only physically but for our hearts as well.” Clearly, Joy-Anna has come a long way since that tragic loss this summer. In recent months, the social media landscape has become the battleground for a never-ending war between the generations, with epithets such as “millennial snowflake” and “ok boomer” serving as the ammunition. But on Tuesday, both sides laid down their arms in order to focus on a more urgent threat presented by an unlikely villain. Yes, that’s the early-2000s rapper T.I., and yes, we learned this week that he’s the absolute worst. This article is about to go to some dark and nauseating places, so if you’re a survivor of child abuse or sexual trauma, or if you’d simply prefer that your image of T.I. remain unsullied by knowledge of his horrifying life choices, you may want to stop reading here. For the rest of you, get ready to have that catchy “Live Your Life” jam from 2008 ruined forever. Speaking with Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham on their Ladies Like Us podcast, the rapper – whose real name is Clifford Harris – was asked if he’s had “the sex talk” with his daughter Deyjah. His response left millions both deeply enraged and thoroughly grossed out: “Have I? This is the thing: Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself,” Harris said. “And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen. “This is what we do. Right after the birthday we celebrate,” he continued. “Usually like the day after the party she’s enjoying her gifts. I put a sticky note on the door: ‘Gyno. Tomorrow. 9:30.'” Believe it or not, things got even more awful from there: “We’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk, and the doctor is maintaining a high level of professionalism,” Harris explained. “He’s like, ‘You know sir, I have to… in order for me to share information…’ “I’m like, ‘Deyjah they want you to sign this. They want you to sign this so we can share information. Is there anything you wouldn’t want me to know? Okay. See doc? No problem.'” “I say, ‘Look doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports, man. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results, expeditiously,'” Harris continued. So on the bright side, at least T.I. checks his word of the day calendar before he heads out to traumatize his daughter. “I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact,” he proudly concluded his tale of misogyny and woe. “Somebody check on Deyjah, she’s a prisoner!” one of the hosts joked in response to Harris’ horror story anecdote. When it was pointed out to Harris that his strategy could backfire, as a certain type of “vulture” might be inclined to seek out virgins as sex partners, the rapper responded: “They’re no fun. Who wants a virgin? Like really? All that work.” On social media, many spoke out against Harris’ policy, including Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi, who tweeted: “The double standard of the patriarchy is truly insane. Young women are fully capable of making their own informed decisions about their bodies and their sexuality.” Of course, Tip was probably more disturbed by a tweet from Ellen Barkin. “I have bad news for T.I. – After 6 months of vaginal sex… my hymen broke,” the actress wrote. Sadly, T.I. has a long history of making disgusting remarks and defending sexual predators . Hopefully this time, the public will turn its back on his problematic ass for good.
If David Eason and Jenelle Evans really are faking their divorce for attention and money, well… … they are doing a mighty terrific job of making it seem real. Evans, of course, announced very late last month that she was finally finished with her violent husband , explaining via Instagram that she was ready to move on. “I’ve mostly kept off social media the past few days because I’ve been focused on making some big life decisions,” wrote the extremely polarizing mother of three, adding at the time: “I’ve lived my life on camera since I was 17 years old. And a lot of it hasn’t been pretty. But it’s been my life. Like anyone else I want what’s best for my kids and I want to be happy. “With time away from Teen Mom I’ve started to look at my life differently and I know I need to make changes. I’m starting that now.” To make her intentions clear, Evans concluded: The kids and I have moved away David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I’ve filed papers to start that process. The former reality star went on to thank fans for supporting her and assured all that both she and the kids “are doing great.” As you can see above, Jenelle sounds rather definitive, right? And yet: Our staff has been debating whether Evans and Eason are truly over for good because, let’s be honest, you never know with these two. In the days since, however, Eason has trashed Jenelle as “stupid” online, while also mocking her history of road rage incidents and implying that she doesn’t deserve custody of their daughter, two-year old Ensley. Eason hasn’t really said anything in response, but he did just make a pretty clear statement on his Instagram Story: “I guess I can take this off now…” Eason captioned a snapshot of his wedding ring, including with it a disappointed-looking emoji. Might David have finally realized this whole divorce thing is real? Publishing a photo after the removal, Eason displayed severe peeling and a gnarly band tan. It also appeared as if the ring had been squeezing his finger a little too tight. “Its [sic] gonna take some time for that finger to heal up,” he wrote. So there you have it… for now. Time, branding, and all of those hot thirst-trap Instagram pics have finally paid off for Khloe Kardashian. Just days ago, she passed a major social media milestone, acquiring 100 million followers on Instagram. She’s celebrating the achievement, but she’s also warning her followers that an obsession with social media will quash their chance at happiness. “100 million followers!!!! Wow wow wow!!!” Khloe gushed in astonishment on her Instagram Stories. “Thank you guys!!!!” she wroted to her legion of followers. “This is nuts!!” Nuts though it may be, it was also cause for celebration. In fact, Khloe received a gift from Popeyes to mark the occasion — in the form of a small feast of delicious chicken. However, Khloe also shared a message — one of many — that seemed to be biting the hand that feeds her. No, she didn’t shade Popeyes or support a certain homophobic rival restaurant chain. But she did seem to take aim at social media. “Unpopular opinion: I think social media has completely destroyed our generations ability to be truly happy,” the message begins. Notably, at age 35 and having been born in 1984, Khloe is a Millennial, though the saying may apply just as easy to Gen Z, who are age 20 and younger. “We’re always seeing someone else who we think has it better than us,” the statement shared by Khloe claims. The message concludes: “And it causes us to think that what we have isn’t good enough.” That is certainly interesting. Arguably, much of her family’s brand involves having it better than their many followers. Fans don’t just follow them for drama or thirst. Some like seeing how the mega-wealthy (and Rob) live. Khloe has done more than just tout her own massive following, of course. On Tuesday, November 5, she wished her momager a very happy birthday. Kris Jenner is 64! “Happy beautiful birthday mommy!! We are here to celebrate you daily!!! You make life perfect!” Khloe gushed. She raved: “You make life happy and filled with love!” “You excite me when it comes to Life!” Khloe praised her mom. “You remind me that life is a celebration!” “You make me believe I could do anything at any time,” she added. Overall, a shorter post than her birthday tribute made just days earlier on November 3. “It’s your birthday boo!! I pray everyone is singing Happy birthday @kendalljenner!!” Khloe’s post began. “Kendall you are one of the most loyal rare gentle souls I’ve ever known!” she praised. “Since the day that you were born,” Khloe observed. “You have made all of my days brighter!” “I am so incredibly honored that I was chosen to be your sister but it’s an even bigger honor that we have chosen to be one another’s best friends,” she noted. “I am so lucky to have someone as selfless and loving as you by my side,” Khloe’s glowing tribute continued.
