Ronan Farrow’s new, revealing and disturbing book has officially gone on sale. And, with the release of “Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators,” we now have new information on the allegation of rape leveled against Matt Lauer in it. As previously reports, via excerpts from this book, Brooke Nevils has gone on record with the accusation that Lauer sexually assaulted her when the two were on location for the Sochi Olympics in 2014. A former NBC staffer, Nevils told Farrow that Lauer invited her to his hotel room at the time — and then proceeded to toss her on the bed and turn her over. He then had anal sex with her against Brooke’s will. “It was nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent,” she reportedly tells Farrow in the book. “It was nonconsensual in that I said, multiple times, that I didn’t want to have anal sex.” Nevils went on to explain that, yes, she and Lauer slept together a few times after they returned to New York City, summarzing the situation as follows: “It was completely transactional. It was not a relationship.” Lauer has denied the rape allegation — in very offensive manner, some might say — and now we’ve learned the following about Nevils: She was so affected by the alleged incident that she tried to kill herself at one point. “Over the past two years, Nevils had attempted suicide,” writes Farrow. “She’s been hospitalized for post-traumatic stress disorder, descended into heavy drinking, pulled herself back.” He adds: “She’d lost fourteen pounds. And gone to doctors twenty-one times in a single-month period.” To be clear, everything Farrow writes about this situation is from Nevils’ point of view. But to also be clear: Lauer was previously accused of rape by another NBC staff; and, when he was fired by NBC two years ago , executives said they based their decision around multiple accuasions of horrible misconduct on the reporter’s part. He seems like a legitimately awful person, whether or not this specific allegation is even true. Nevils says in the book that doesn’t regret her decision to come forward with the allegations, although her life has totally changed as as a result. “I’ve lost everything I cared about. My job. My goals,” she says. Elsewhere, Nevils also told Farrow of two other “non-consensual” encounters with Lauer. While she was looking for something in his office, Nevils claims Lauer “grabbed her hips and fingered her.” The other time, Lauer reportedly asked for oral sex in exchange for filming a goodbye message for her then-boyfriend who was leaving NBC for a new job, according to the book. “When she asked Lauer for his (video), he told her to come to his office to record it herself. When she arrived, she said, he told her to go down on him,” Farrow writes. “I was really upset. I felt terrible,” Nevils claims in the book. “I was trying to do this nice thing, and I had to give Matt a blow job to get him to film a goodbye video. I just felt sick.” For his part, Lauer issued a lengthy response to the media last week, where he strongly denied claims of nonconsensual sex. “I have never assaulted anyone or forced anyone to have sex. Period,” he said as part of it. He admitted to an affair with Nevils (and other women), but stated all acts were consensual on all sides. “There’s the Matt Lauer that millions of Americans watched on TV every morning for two decades, and there is the Matt Lauer who this morning attempted to bully a former colleague into silence,” Nevils then said in a statement in response. When the world first learned that Jenni Farley was dating Zack Carpinello , the reaction among Jersey Shore fans was one of pure joy. After all that she’d been through in the past year, it seemed that JWoww had finally found happiness in a stable relationship. Sadly, things quickly took a turn for the worse, as it soon turned out that Carpinello — “24,” as he’s known to some — is a massive douche. It’s hard to know where to begin, as Zack was an absolute jackass from the second he first appeared on screen. He was smug; he was controlling; he talked down to Jenni — the whole was just painful to watch, particularly since Farley was fresh from an abusive marriage . JWoww didn’t seem particularly put off by 24’s behavior, but the heady rush of a new romance can often cloud anyone’s judgment. Fortunately, her eyes were opened last week when an episode of Shore aired in which Carpinello could be seen groping Angelina Pivarnick while a heavily intoxicated Jenni slept just inches away. Shortly after the episode, word got out that Jenni had dumped Carpinello. Pivarnick was the first to respond with a weird, lingerie-themed message in which she sort of apologized to Jenni and sort of chastised Carpinello. Now, 24 himself is breaking his social media silence with a weird, inspirational weight-lifting video: Zack Carpinello Lifts Weights “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will. -Mahatma Gandhi.” he captioned the above clip. That same day, Zack quote-tweeted Ice T, who wrote: “Never let someone else’s Negativity ruin your day. You can’t get your DAYS back. They’re toooo valuable.” It may seem strange that Zack is the one offering up quotes about enduring hardship here — and it definitely is. As far as we can tell, this is part of Carpinello’s effort to launch his professional wrestling career, which — in retrospect — probably motivated his decision to date Jenni in the first place. Shortly after the episode aired, Farley made it clear that she and Carpinello were through: “After seeing tonight’s episode I’m pretty hurt,” she wrote in an Instagram note. “I feel disrespected by someone I called a friend and by someone who stated they loved me,” Jenni added. “For 5 months I was kept in the dark about this,” she continued. “For 5 months I was naive, probably laughed at and made into a storyline that will forever haunt me. My heart hurts on so many levels. One thing I learned from tonight’s episode is know your value. Don’t ever lower your standards.” To be fair, the weight-lifting vid wasn’t Zack’s first post-breakup social media activity. But his previous posts were obviously written by publicists: ”I made mistakes that I cannot take back, which I take full responsibility for,” he wrote. “Jenni does not deserve any damage from anybody else. This is on me. I sincerely apologize to Jenni. I apologize to Angelina as well,” Zack added. “I love Jenni, with everything I have, I make this known to be every day. I will continue to do everything to make this known to her and her kids, who also have my heart. KA… BOOM! Cory Wharton just dropped a rather huge bombshell on the Teen Mom OG universe, confirming to Us Weekly that he and girlfriend Taylor Selfridge are expecting their very first child together. “It was definitely a surprise,” Wharton tells the aforementioned tabloid of the news, which he says the couple found out about two months ago. Selfridge is 11 weeks along and will be welcoming her very first child overall. Wharton, meanwhile, shares two-year-old daughter Ryder with ex-girlfriend Cheyenne Floyd … which is how he got famous in the first place. When Floyd joined Teen Mom OG last season, a significant portion of her opening season storyline centered on her on-again/off-again relationship with Wharton. (Who, for the record, didn’t know Ryder was his daughter until she was 6 months old, meaning this pregnancy with Selfridge is actually the first one he’ll get to experience as an expecting father.) Added Wharton while speaking to Us Weekly : “Just being there from the day she found out that she’s pregnant and knowing that it was mine, I knew that I was going to have to step up. “It’s exciting for me. It’s gonna be a lot, but I’m excited. I never went to an ultrasound, you know? I never went to the doctor’s appointments to see her check-ups and things like that. “So for me, this is like my first baby almost, as weird as that sounds.” Floyd has not yet commented on this development. Throughout last season of Teen Mom OG, she made it sound like she was anxious to commit long-term to Wharton, but he never gave her the same indication. She’s since brushed off Wharton’s relationship with Selfridge , which was made public back in February. Cory and Taylor say they do plan to find out the gender of the baby when the time comes, but for now, he’s hoping for a second daughter. “I just originally thought it was a boy, but now I don’t know,” Selfridge told Us Weekly. ”Everybody’s saying girl, so now I just feel like it’s a girl!” Floyd, for her part, has been very supportive of the father of her child and Selfridge, despite issues she initially had with the couple when it came to being around Ryder. “I went over to Cheyenne’s house and I was dropping Ryder off and I just said, ‘Hey, so Ryder’s going to be a sister!’ There’s no easy way to tell somebody that,” Wharton said of breaking the news to the Teen Mom OG star. Selfridge added she feared Floyd would “freak out” about the new, but Wharton said he’s gotten nothing but love from her family. “They really were supportive from day one,” he states. Cory and Taylor met during season 1 of MTV’s Ex on the Beach in 2014 and started dating after the show. They broke up a short while later and then were sort of back and forth for about two years, including the period when Wharton was trying to figure out his future with Floyd. Even though Kate Gosselin keeps exploiting her remaining kids for cash , it doesn’t sound like Jon is interested in the reality business. For the moment, he is focused on making sure that Hannah and Collin have a stable home and continue to excel at school. He wants what’s best for them, and that means having normal teenage experiences instead of serving as cash cows for either parent. An inside source has opened up to HollywoodLife about Jon Gosselin and his plans for Hannah and Collin. Unlike his tyrannical ex-wife, he actually gives them choices in life, but he does have an idea for their high school experiences. “Jon only wants what’s best for kids,” the insider affirms. “And,” the source continues, he is “working so hard to protect his kids.” Being on camera as babies is generally harmless. Spending a decade and a half as reality stars is not. And neither is growing up with Kate for a mother. Instead of micromanaging Hannah and Collin’s activities, interests, and thoughts, he just takes an interest in them. “Jon keeps up on everything going on in all his children’s lives,” the insider states. The source adds that, at least, he does “the very best he can.” Not all of his children are so easy for him to talk to. A judge’s opinion was that filming was not in the best interests of her minor children, but allegedly she and TLC figured that they’d just film anyway and pay a fine. On a more positive note, Jon and his girlfriend Colleen Conrad have created a lovely and shockingly normal home. “He’s built a great life for them,” the source expresses. “And they love to go to the beach, the city,” the insider shares. “And love traveling together.” The source observes: “He really lets them have a normal childhood.” At least, as normal as it can be when you’re from a famous reality family, you just escaped from your mother, and one of you was locked in an institution without a satisfactory explanation. Jon may be continuing to bond with Hannah and Collin, but he’s not playing favorites. It’s been over two weeks since Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott broke up . Obviously, the process of getting over a breakup is different for everyone, but it seems Kylie has zipped right past the grief, bargaining, anger, acceptance, and late-night “u up?” text stages: Yes, she’s already reached the thirst trap phase, and we applaud her for it. As you can see, Kylie has taken her little black dress game to new heights on Instagram. There’s new about Kylie posting racy pics, of course. In fact, by some standards, this one is pretty tame. But if we stop and examine the question of why this photo was posted, we might come up with a more interesting answer than “Look at the woman. Why would she not post pics like this every day?” In this case, timing is everything. For starters, the revealing post comes just weeks after the most high-profile breakup of Kylie’s career. (Yes, this split is a bigger deal than her breakup with Tyga. More on that later.) But it also comes at a time when Kylie has been taking unprecedented flak for her appearance. Yes, believe it or not, Kylie’s latest bikini pic was savaged by haters, many of whom claim that the 22-year-old mother of one “looks fake” as a result of too much plastic surgery. It’s tough to imagine that the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire could ever suffer from low self-esteem, but millions of strangers criticizing her appearance was bound to have an effect on Kylie sooner or later. Of course, it’s possible that Kylie’s latest post has nothing to do with her haters. It could be a response to rumors that Travis is dating Rojean Kar . Kylizzle was apparently incensed to find out that there may have been some overlap between the two relationships. That brings us back to the subject of Tyga. Insiders claim that shortly after the split, Tyga vowed to win Kylie back . And apparently, she entertained the notion, primarily because she knew it would make Travis jealous. Tyga, of course, was Kylie’s most serious pre-Travis boyfriend, but we think it’s safe to say her second major relationship left a more indelible impression. That’ll happen when you have a kid together. Anyway, it seems that Kylie never actually engaged in a revenge hookup with Tyga, but it’s not hard to see why fans are under the impression that she might be fixated on making Travis jealous. The former South Carolina politician said that Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is a puppet of the Russian government. During Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s New Day morning program, Sellers sat on a panel consisting of White House correspondent April D. Ryan and political commentator Angela Rye to discuss tonight’s Ohio debate. Towards the end of the segment, Sellers aimed sharp words towards Gabbard not unlike he’s done in times past via Twitter. “There is a chance that Tulsi is not just working for the United States of America, but I digress,” Sellers said, causing Ryan to react with shock. He added, “I firmly believe that Tulsi Gabbard stands on that stage as the antithesis to what the other 11 individuals stand for, especially when it comes to issues such as foreign policy. “There is no question that Tulsi Gabbard, of all the 12, is a puppet for the Russian government.” Watch the CNN exchange below. — Photo: Getty

As spotted on High Snobiety the California based brand is being accused of lifting Nike’s designs from the Nike Air VaporMax and the Nike Air Max 270. So much so that the sportswear giant filed an infringement lawsuit earlier this month alleging “Skechers’ business strategy includes copying its competitors’ designs to gain market share.” Last week Skechers took out an advertisement in the Los Angeles Times addressing the claims stating the claims are baseless. “As you may have heard, Nike filed a lawsuit against Skechers in Los Angeles alleging that those shoes infringe certain Nike patents. Please note that the lawsuit has been filed just recently and merely contains Nike’s unproven allegations. Source: press handout / tma A few days before this year’s West Indian Day Parade in New York City, Spragga Benz was a guest at SUNY Empire State in downtown Brooklyn. The dancehall pioneer was seated at the front of the room alongside two music executives and Dr. Carolyn Cooper, a professor at the University of the West Indies. They would be discussing the future of dancehall and reggae music as well as what that progression means for new artists. “The youth are doing their thing,” Spragga says, following the panel. “It’s a whole new generation from 1995. A different set of youth. They’re expressing themselves and it’s not fair for us to say that what they’re doing isn’t right. Or lesser than that because we were free to do what we wanted and our parents were probably saying that what we were doing is stupid or wrong.” “A man may start out slack and end up conscious. It’s a journey.”—Spragga Benz On an elevated platform, Spragga offered stories of humble beginnings and incidentally finding his place in dancehall, although his personal business would have been better off without the cameras and the bright lights. “More people wanted me to record and I was like, ‘Alright. This thing is getting out of hand now…” The audience chuckled collectively. So much so that his first album in nearly a decade, Chiliagon , debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Reggae charts. Spragga Benz is out here breaking personal records for himself, even still. In a recent press release, Lem Oppenheimer, co-founder of Easy Star stated, “We are proud to have helped Spragga get to #1 for the first time in his career. What this shows us is that Spragga is still a vibrant artist, a current creative force, and an important voice in reggae worldwide.” The album [ cop it here ] is a direct reflection of how Spragga defines the word ‘chiliagon’ — “a shape with a thousand sides.” The mix of roots reggae, drum and bass, dancehall, grime, garage and hip-hop highlights an evolution of sound, at least from his end. “That’s how I approach music,” he reveals. “I don’t really box into anything. I have different sides to myself and there’s an inclusion of all different genres of music, but to me a lot of different music comes from dancehall same way. So this album shows the connections and similarities and how a dancehall artist actually sounds over these different beats that actually aren’t that different.” Spragga claims that “No Regrets,” a wavy, roots reggae-inspired track from Chiliagon is his favorite on the album. Preceding the LP, Spragga’s “Count Tree” over the “Calaloo” riddim specifically highlights his spirited flow alongside synth-heavy production with just enough bounce to fall within the lines of traditional dancehall. Another single, “If Yuh Ready,” with UK DJ General Levy is specifically grime, or as Spragga describes: “Jungle Music!” His eyes light up, excitedly. “That same jungle music? It’s derived from dancehall music. It’s the same thing just sped up. They use our same bass lines and faster drums.” Naturally mellow, nothing seems to move Spragga Benz like music or talks of progression. As an OG in the dancehall world, Spragga has made it his business — his literal business, with Red Star Productions — to help motivate and encourage those coming behind him. Red Star is a sort of in-between, for young creatives trying to find their way. “We try to enhance the talent of young artists, bringing what they have out of them,” he explains. “Some may come to us as artists but they aren’t really artists. They might be a better producer or road manager or a writer, whatever it is that you want to do, we’ll push you to do it anyways, because that’s your desire until you find your growth and then you can always divert.” “We try to just bring people in, let them be themselves but we try and guide them in the direction they want to go in without tying them to anything. You owe us nothing. Spragga held steadfast in his belief that an artist having to censor himself, defeats the idea of his being a creative. “They’re [the government] censoring dancehall artists, specifically,” he shares later. “Because those from other genres are able to say whatever they feel like saying. And I just think we should be free to say whatever we feel and express ourselves in our own way. Every man has his own idea of what’s right and what’s wrong. So leave a man to his own judgment and learning.” “A man may start out slack and end up conscious. It’s a journey,” he continues. “Allow a man to walk his journey. Censorship comes in when some people want power over other people. Or when some people feel important and want to be ‘the God’ over what other people are doing and when you have enough people who feel that way, they form themselves into bodies and give themselves titles and feel even more important.” “But artists only want to express themselves, we have our own moral compass to follow.
