It’s been over a week since Cody Simpson and Miley Cyrus were spotted kissing . Since then, Miley put slut-shamers on blast , but that’s not quite the same as officially, officially confirming that they’re an item. Now, the two are sharing cutesy (and steamy) photos, touching tongues in bed, and yes, confirming that they’re dating. Cody Simpson opened up to In Touch Weekly and other tabloids about his happy new relationship with Miley Cyrus. “I’m very happy. Yeah, I’m very, very happy, so,” Cody began. “She’s creative, she’s very passionate about what she does, and I’m very similar in that sense,” he observes. Cody explains: “That’s why we get along so well.” “We just have a ball and that’s the most important part of a relationship,” he affirms. “It’s like … we’ve been friends … the reason why it’s not like … it hasn’t been a really crazy sudden thing,” Cody states. The secret to their newfound happiness “is we’ve been friends for so long.” Cody continues: “When we sort of found each other again in a space where … we both met back in the day when we were partying a lot.” “We had a lot of fun then,” he admits. “But now we’ve found each other in a space where we’re not partying, working real hard.” He expresses: “And just like keeps things healthy.” Cody cannot stop singing the praises of being friends before being lovers. “It breaks the ice,” he explains. “That had never happened to me before.” “Any girlfriend that I’ve had in the past has always been immediate romance,” Cody recalls. He continues: “And so it’s kind of like a different experience having been friends with somebody before and developing that into something more.” “It’s just like a very natural, healthy feeling,” Cody gushes. He also says that the fact that they’re both so familiar with each other’s lifestyles is a huge bonus. “It’s just that I just have someone to come back to and someone who supports you,” Cody notes. “I’m very busy now working on my album and that’s kind of been … I’m out most of the day doing that,” he shares. Cody expresses: “And so it’s nice to be able to come home to somebody who gets it and understands you.” “I try to do the same for her and give her stuff,” he adds. “We always have as friends and now it’s just a little different.” “I wrote her a song this week that she’s pretty much forcing me to put out,” Cody reveals. “She’s like, ‘If you don’t put this shit out, I’m putting it out on your behalf for you. I’m getting your Spotify login and doing this s–t myself,’” he says. “And I was just like, ‘Alright, alright I’ll do it.’ So I recorded it this week, I’m gonna put it up next week,” Cody announces. “It’s something I wrote for her while she was sick this week,” he says, referring to Miley’s tonsilitis and hospitalization.
