Audrey Roloff Responds to Backlash Over Dumb Dating Advice

Oops , Audrey Roloff appears to now be saying… … my bad ! A day after the former Little People, Big World star garnered a great deal of backlash for offering up some rather warped dating advice, the expecting mother of one is here to explain herself. Or at least try to explain herself. Here’s what’s been going on: Earlier this week, Audrey — who penned a book about love and relationships with her husband, Jeremy, and who thinks she’s an expert on this topic — posted a photo of herself and her man. It was very cute, as you can see below. But the caption she wrote along with it was a tad less adorable. This is the photo: And this was the polarizing caption: “SINGLE LADIES: To all my girls out there that are “hanging out” with a guy that you’re just not sure about… “You can’t help who you fall in love with, but you CAN help who you spend time with.” She concluded: Be careful spending too much time with someone you don’t see yourself marrying because you just might fall in love with them…. And falling in love with someone you don’t see yourself marrying only ends in hurt. Guard your heart so that you can give it undividedly to your future husband. You would want him to do the same for you. Many readers were simply confused by Audrey’s logic here. How, exactly, can one be confident early in a relationship that one might fall inlove with one’s partner… and yet think that partner would never be one’s spouse? Seems like an antithetical notion, doesn’t it? Moreover, why must a woman even think this way, many critics have asked? As summed up by the remark below, why can’t a woman (or a man) just date, have fun, learn a lot about him or herself, maybe fall in love, maybe get hurt and just figure life out as it comes? There’s something both antiquated and sexist in thinking that a woman should be thinking about marriage at all times, isn’t there? We aren’t the only ones saying this, either. “This kind of advice is based on the antiquated idea that women are not pure or are somehow damaged after they have been with or ‘loved’ someone. It’s super regressive,” wrote a user  in Audrey’s Comments section, adding: “You can love, get hurt, learn and be a better person for the one you chose to marry.” Well said, no? The clap back prompted Audrey to respond as follows: “Woah. Definitely don’t think those women are somehow damaged or not pure. That is not what I’m saying.” So… what was Audrey saying? She didn’t really elaborate. But Jill Duggar responded to the message with an “Amen!,” which is sort of damning in and of itself, considering many believe the Duggars are basically a cult and view women solely as creatures who can bear their husband children. All this said, we’re guessing Audrey meant well. She probably meant well when she offered a few tips on finding a godly husband as well. Perhaps, however, Audrey would be better served going forward if she stopped thinking she knew everything there is to know about love, relationships, sex and marriage. Rebecca Parrot BLASTS Abuse Rumors: Zied Would Never Hurt Me!

In real time, 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way stars Deavan and Jihoon have just suffered a miscarriage . Reality stars can have real problems. On the show, their castmate Rebecca Parrot is grappling with what fans believe may be a situation of physical abuse from Zied Hakimi. Rebecca is now speaking out and addressing fans directly. On Sunday, TLC aired an alarming preview for 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way . In the video, fans believed that they saw Zied forcefully jerk Rebecca towards him, and fans raised the alarm about abuse. Many had been worried for Rebecca from the start, and they know that, statistically, bisexual women are more likely to be abused by a male partner. “Zied grabbing Rebecca by the neck is a huge red flag,” wrote one fan. “That’s abusive behavior used to exert dominance.” “Another abusive situation Rebecca and [Zied],” another tweet lamented. Alongside a video of her conveying the same message, Rebecca is trying to clear the air on social media. “I need to make something VERY CLEAR,” Rebecca's impassioned caption begins. “Zied has NEVER been abusive,” she announces. Rebecca then affirms: “Zied would NEVER be abusive.” “This is dangerous to make light of and it needs to stop now,” she expresses. She does, however, recognize why people now have this impression o Zied. “I understand that the preview was misleading,” Rebecca acknowledges. “However the scene in its full entirety was very clear!” she assures her followers. Rebecca explains: “Zied was apologizing to me and I was the one who pulled away from him.” “I was angry,” she clarifies. “Not Zied.” “As an abuse survivor in previous relationships, I would never allow this,” “and would never make excuses for it.” “In addition, TLC and Sharp Entertainment would not only not have allowed it, but would not have aired it.” Is she sure about that? TLC has certainly aired multiple abusers across various shows. And we seem to recall Anfisa Arkhipchenko Nava striking her husband in the face on camera. That was domestic violence. That aired. “It is dangerous to make accusations like this,” Rebecca expresses. She continues: “and make it look like I’m making excuses.” “As there are women watching in actually dangerous relationships,” Rebecca accurately guesses. She worries that these are women “that think if I’m staying with this man, it’s okay for them to.” “It is never okay to be in any relationship that is even slightly abusive,” Rebecca affirms. “Reality tv likes to create drama, and did that with the preview,” Rebecca explains. “The scene in its entirety,” she emphasizes. “Clearly shows Zied was not being abusive in ANY way.” Rebecca concludes: “Be responsible with your accusations. ” That is very good and important advice for anyone. We will keep in mind that it's the right thing to keep an eye out for abuse — verbal, emotional, fiancial, physical, or sexual — just about everywhere. There are a lot of monsters in this world. Rebecca just wants you to know that Zied is not one of them.

Cardi B Says She’s Not Apologizing For Calling Out ‘Access Hollywood’

Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz Cardi B is not one to bite her tongue when she feels she has been wronged. Last week, a clip of the “Press” rapper went viral calling out Access Hollywood for “manipulating her words” and wishing “ they catch AIDS. ” She has announced she is not apologizing either. During her rant last week, Cardi B aired out the entertainment news program during an Instagram Live post screaming, “The f*ck?! Then y’all n*ggas gonna use what I said, chop it the f*ck up, chop it up, and try to make me look like I’m some wack ass mom. Get the f*ck out of here!” Access Hollywood subsequently deleted the post, causing some to ask Cardi to apologize to the outlet for the social media dragging. Cardi once again had time and hopped back on her favorite medium to discuss the idea of her apologizing. If you guessed she basically said hell no, you were absolutely correct. “Everybody say sh*t when they upset…People say all type of crazy sh*t, so when I say crazy sh*t, people just want to highlight it because they hate me. They ask every single blogger, ‘Oh my God, can you please talk about how Cardi said, this-this-and-that?’…If you think that it’s wrong, it is what it is, but I ain’t gonna apologize for you.” She also added that every time she takes the high road and apologizes, it doesn’t matter because people still continue to remind her of the mistake she is atoning for. Basically, you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t. We feel you, Cardi, and respect you for always keeping the same energy. — Photo: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz

On Wednesday’s (Oct. 9) episode of the daytime talk show, Jeannie Mai revealed to her castmates that her standards were pretty low during her marriage. Mai states that she accepted the “bare minimum” when it came to support from her now ex-husband Freddy Harteis . “When [Freddy] said things like ‘good for you’ or ‘that’s cool,’ I’m like, that’s great, he supports me! That to me is my standard of support. I didn’t even know until my new relationship that something as basic,” Jeannie Mai said emotionally. Mai states that Jeezy helped show her what real support was and became tearful when recalling how the “Snowman” rapper left his birthday party to take her to the airport. “I’m not crying to feel bad,” Mai continued tearfully. “It was just so touchy. But even something as basic as, like, at his birthday party, he left his own birthday to drive me to the airport, he was like ‘are you kidding? I want to see you off.’” Despite her revelations, Jeannie Mai insists that she doesn’t blame her ex for the downfall of their marriage, instead, she states that she learned the importance of loving herself and taking time out to be truly single to avoid settling for a relationship that doesn’t meet her standards. You Know The VIBES! Timothée Chalamet Reviews The King Using NEW YORK SLANG!

Let’s get ready to rumble! Timothée Chalamet stars in a new battle for the crown movie called The King that is hitting Netflix later this month. Based on the Shakespeare play we see Timothée as King Henry V bicker and combat with his father for making England fight his unjust battles only to reluctantly take the crown once his father becomes ill. After that, a series of events happen that send the new King back to the battlefield to fight for his life. I had the opportunity to fly to New York City to sit down with the Oscar-nominated actor and the film’s director David Michôd to talk about The King. Chalamet broke down his process for rehearsing his loud monologues. “I just try to get the words down. I think it’s the kind of thing on the day, but I’m lucky enough to have done a lot of theater. I think I knew to do that speech in a hotel room but it was never going to be an authentic experience of the day of having 300 guys in front of you and trying to rile them up.” Timothee goes on to explain that he never yelled his dramatic war cry monologue prior to filming the scene. Then he shares a funny story about how all the extras in that scene didn’t understand English so they had no clue what he was actually saying. David who not only directed this film but also co-wrote it, broke down how they used a more modern language than the Shakespeare play while still keeping stellar wordplay for the actors, but the highlight of the entire interview was hearing Timothée Chalamet break down New York slang in order to describe The King on Netflix.

A Michigan Third-Grader Was Brought To Tears After She Was Denied A School Photo Over Her Hair

An 8-year-old third grader in Michigan was told she could not participate in school photos because administrators took issue with her braids which were intermixed with the color red. Marian Scott told CNN affiliate WILX she cried after she was told that she couldn't get her school photo taken because of the red extensions in her hair https://t.co/MsW1qU7fFJ — CNN (@CNN) October 9, 2019 Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news.  ( Terms and conditions ). The student, a young Black girl named Marian Scott was sent back to class, while her parents who were informed that their child violated the school’s picture day policy at a later time. Marian attends the Paragon Charter Academy in Jackson, Michigan. Marian reportedly cried after the encounter because she felt singled out from her classmates, of course prompting an emotional reaction from her family. “All of this is uncalled for, they didn’t even call us,” her father Doug Scott said in an interview with WILX .  “Marian didn’t leave the house, go on the street and get this done on her own, no – she’s 8 years old, we did this ourselves in our own home and there’s no way I felt like this would happen.” According to the school’s policy, children are not allowed to wear ” extreme hairstyles, and the preferred styles need to have more “natural tones,” or be more “conservative.” Anything outside of that range is not permitted. SEE ALSO:  Feeling This Hairstyle? Toya Wright Chops Off Her Inches & Gets A Sleek Short Cut Scott further inquired about why his child was allowed back into the classroom if she held a style that was deemed inappropriate. “If she’s not a disruption to the class, then why is she a disruption to the picture?” he asked. According to the school’s policy, students are given one week to correct their hair if they are found to be in violation. On Monday Marian returned to school without the red hair in her braids. The family plans to have her photo retaken on November 12, WILX reports. Paragon Academy released a statement to NBC News saying, “We take great care to ensure our families are well-informed about this policy, and also work closely with students and their parents if there’s a concern.” The school’s policy leaves it open to a variety of interpretation when there are white administrators making decisions regarding what is deemed an appropriate hairstyle for students. Without full grasp, compassion, or an education on Black culture, moments like what transpired with this young girl will continue to happen. And she will undoubtedly suffer some form of trauma in relation to her hair. As we know, Eurocentric beauty standards are often held against Black children and begins at elementary school age. The discrimination continues all the way into adulthood and even on the federal level, as we see several states have adapted anti-discrimination policies in regards to the Black hairstyles we hold so near and dear to the culture. Sister Speaks Out After Brother Was Called N-Word And Told To ‘Get On His Knees’ In Viral Video

Source: Deysha Adriana/Facebook O ne teenager became the victim of racist insults after his one tiny mistake of littering. After the incident went viral, his sister is speaking out about the support they’ve received. According to 10 News , 14-year-old Barry Henry was called the N-word by a woman when he threw his gum wrapper on the ground. The incident went down when he was walking from church with his grandmother and cousin on Sunday in Florida. “I thought she was going to attack us,” he said. “The lady was telling me, ‘Just pick it up,’ real loud and just yelling and everything, crazy.” The whole incident was recorded and posted to Facebook where the woman can be heard yelling, “Nuh uh, don’t even act like that. Pick it up. Find it. Get down on your knees and find it. Get down on your knees and find it.” At one point the woman calls the teen a “ni**er” and continues, “That’s how you are. All y’all (unintelligible) f**king ni**ers. Walking around here acting like something.” The footage was initially posted to Facebook on Sunday by Henry’s sister Deysha Adriana . She wrote: “Actual footage of a woman talking to my 14 year old brother and cousin in this manner, near Williams Park in St. Pete today, because he dropped a gum wrapper on the ground, he was going to pick it up until she started calling him out of his name. Almost 2020 and we still are dealing with being spoken to in this manner over what exactly? A gum wrapper. Tasteless.” The video received over 233,000 views and over 5,000 shares. A St. Petersburg City Council member, Steve Kornell , even shared the video asking to help identify the teen so he can be honored at this week’s council meeting. The mayor of St. Petersburg, Rick Kriseman , also called the woman’s actions “deeply disappointing and disturbing, a wholly unacceptable verbal attack that I would hate to witness anywhere, but especially here in our Sunshine City.” After the backlash against the woman and after Deysha and her brother received massive support, Deysha posted an update: “My family would like to first thank those who have expressed their genuine concern towards my younger brother in regards to the below video. The point of this post is/was to continue to raise awareness regarding inappropriate behavior, and racism in our city, country, and world. Please note that we are not a confrontational family, and we are not looking for vengeance towards this woman, nor are we looking to fight racism, with racism.” Meanwhile, the teen’s mother, Tykeshia Henry-Burch , said that even though she was “shocked” and “mad,” they will continue to pray for the racist woman and “hope that she gets the help that she needs because she does need help.” SEE ALSO:  Penn State Slams Racist Fan Who Sent Star Player ‘Disgusting’ Dreadlocks Letter Black Football Coach Fired For His Team Using ‘N*gga’ At Historically Black School [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3889368″ overlay=”true”]

Future On New Song Preview: “I Don’t Know Her Name But She Had My Child”

Source: Victoria McGraw @victoriasaidit / Urban One If there’s one thing to know about  Future , it’s that he’s going to give his truth on a record. Especially in regards to his relationships with women. Over the weekend, fellow Atlanta rapper Big Bank DTE showed a clip of Future back in the studio, working on new music. In the previewed track, the  Purple Reign  rapper croons: “I don’t know her name but she had my child.” It’s unclear whether or not this is another moment of Future going above and beyond to drop a wild lyric or in reference to his recent drama where a woman filed a paternity lawsuit against him. Jason Weaver Turned Down $2M For OG ‘The Lion King’ To Collect Future Royalties

Source: Leon Bennett / Getty Jason Weaver’s career might not be today what it was back in the 90’s when he was popping up on shows like Smart Guy and films like Drumline (crazy underappreciated joint). But fret not for he’s still collecting bread from one of his greatest performances ever, Simba in The Lion King . That’s right, the same guy who played a young Michael Jackson in the 1992 mini-series, The Jacksons: An American Dream, also voiced your favorite cartoon lion from the early 90’s not named Tony. Luckily Weaver’s mother was showing and proving that she wasn’t raising no fool and instead of taking a $2 million payday from Disney, she felt it better if they negotiated a contract which included future royalties from the upcoming film even though “this was definitely at a time when Disney wasn’t doing those kind of deals.” In an interview on Vlad TV, Jason revealed that thanks to his mama he’s still getting checks cut by Disney whose The Lion King seems to be on TV every damn weekend. “Disney had a reputation of that, for like re-releasing stuff. I think at that time they had put out  Sleeping Beauty  and some of their old catalog from when Walt Disney was alive. They were releasing that stuff when they were releasing the new Disney stuff, so [Weaver’s mother] was able to see the playing field and go, ‘Wait a minute, this is going to make a lot of money over time, so what happens when my son turns 40? Is he going to be able to get a check for this when they eventually re-release this.” Talk about motherly instincts. After negotiating a new deal for his role in the animated film, Jason walked away with a cool $100K and future royalties for his work. Of course he eventually made back the $2 million that was originally turned down but none of this would’ve been made possible without some good ol’ motherly advice. Mama definitely knows best. Check out the interview below and never forget when you see The Lion King playing on TV, Jason Weaver getting paaaiiiid.
