Beyonce and Jay Z Attend The US Open Jay And Bey’s latest NYC date night found them supporting their friend Serena Williams as she slayed and dominated the court. The power pair attended the match as personal guests of Serena Williams who — of course — won tonight’s match. Via USA Today : Serena Williams is tied with Steffi Graf for most Grand Slam tittles in the Open era, and Thursday night she equaled another legend for most match wins by a female player at the major tournaments. Williams was strong, if not her best, in a 6-3, 6-3 victory over fellow American Vania King, earning her 306th career win at a Grand Slam. That tally pulled her even with Martina Navratilova, who was 306-49 during her career at the majors. With the win, Williams moves to 306-42. “I feel like I made a lot of errors,” said Williams, who appeared frustrated at times in the match. “What really matters is I got the win. Henson is currently taking on the cover of Entertainment Weekly and dishing on her role on “Empire.” According to Taraji as Empire’s third season approaches fans can relate to Cookie because she can be their alter ego. “Cookie has all kinds of fans, all,” says Henson, who nabbed a Golden Globe for the role in January. “I get it. She’s my alter ego — we all need a Sasha Fierce [Beyoncé’s alter-ego].” Furthermore she’s balancing playing Katherine Johnson in “Hidden Figures” and preparing to release a line with MAC cosmetics. Henson, 45, is now poised for the biggest moment of her career with her third Emmy nomination, the third season of Empire (which bows Sept. 21 at 9 p.m.), the release of her memoir, Around the Way Girl (on sale Oct. 11), a new cosmetics line with MAC, and a starring role in the awards-hopeful film Hidden Figures (due this winter), in which she plays real-life NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson. “This is my first time carrying a show and then going to carry a movie,” says Henson. “That’s a lot. It’s so stressful, and I had to really check myself because it’s so easy to take for granted when you get to a certain level. Florida Woman Surprises Stepfather With Adoption Papers For His Birthday The DailyMail is reporting a story that will have you using up every kleenex in your crib … This is the heartwarming moment a young woman left her stepfather in tears after asking him to legally adopt her as part of a big birthday surprise. Gabriella Guardado, 22, placed adoption papers and a pen inside a gift bag and presented them to her stepdad, David Lynde, earlier this month for his birthday. In video capturing the tear-jerking moment, David is seen opening the bag and pulling out the papers while surrounded by his family in their Florida home. After taking some time to realize what the papers said, the 53-year-old becomes very emotional by Gabriella’s sweet gesture.
