The fashion crowd headed uptown to honor people and organizations making a difference in Harlem and beyond. Reality star Yandy Smith-Harris , fashion entrepreneur Misa Hylton and musician and playwright Vy Higginsen were among the honorees Sept. 15 at the Harlem Fashion Week Opening Night Charity Gala at the Museum of the City of New York. Beauty Talk: Jhene Aiko Loves Blotting Papers For Daytime Makeup

While we know that makeup is a huge part of her lifestyle, but we can’t help but notice that her skin is always picture-perfect. So, it’s no surprise that she scored the gig as the global face of Kat Von D Beauty’s latest foundation line. There is no denying that trying to learn our favorite celebs beauty routines can be a bit tricky. From their high-priced beauty treatments and sometimes bizarre routines, finding a way to incorporate their skincare practices into our everyday lives is easier said than done. However, the “Triggered” singer is giving us a glimpse of her go-to products. In a recent interview with ESSENCE , the star couldn’t stop raving about a skincare product that she says saves her skin while wearing makeup. “It’s been hot right now in LA, so with that daytime makeup, you’ve got to make sure you have your blotting papers on you,” she tells ESSENCE . “Because if you just let it sit and it gets oily, then that sits on your face, that’s going to turn into a bump. So I personally always have to have blotting paper.” She continued, “And just for sure, wash your face. Wash that makeup off as soon as you can; it’s a big one. Because if you leave makeup on, like three days later you’ll have a big bump coming up.” We definitely agree! Blotting papers do a fabulous job of lifting away oils without disturbing our makeup. While we all love how makeup enhances our beauty, it can have adverse effects on our skin if we don’t remove the product properly. Jonah Hill Reportedly Tapped To Play Villain In Upcoming ‘The Batman”

Source: photo: WENN When it was announced that Twilight star Robert Pattinson would be replacing Ben Affleck as the Batman , DC and Warner Bros. immediately saw a backlash from fans who saw this move as a money grab intended to sway Twilight tweens to pack theaters to see Edward Cullen evolve from a teen vampire to a full grown Batman. Though word around the script itself is rumored to center around the classic Batman mini-series The Long Halloween , nothing else has been said about the upcoming Matt Reeves directed film. Until now. According to Variety , fan favorite comedy actor Jonah Hill has been tapped to play the Dark Knight’s antagonist in the upcoming film and though his character continues to be a mystery it is believed that the Superbad actor will either be donning the umbrella and top hat of The Penguin or the cane and question mark etched outfit of The Riddler. While Variety also lists Mr. Freeze as another possible role for Hill, he seems more like a Penguin or Riddler kind of character. Just sayin.’ Regardless of which character he plays his inclusion in The Batman is definitely welcomed by Batman fans and will certainly give us more reason to put down our money at the box office when the Dark Knight swings into theaters sometime in June of 2021. But if Robert Pattinson’s Batman is indeed going to follow the storyline of The Long Halloween , then Jonah Hill won’t be the only villain involved in the film as the classic Jeph Loeb storyline included appearances from a few familiar villains from the Batman universe. Here’s to hoping that DC and Warner Bros. doesn’t screw this one up too and turn Jonah Hill into yet another iteration of the Joker or even worse, Bane. Jonah Hill has been looking particularly pumped these days though so you never know.

Dennis Turner, who is Black, has a history of violent behavior on his record according to several reports. CNN reports : An Orlando elementary school resource officer who arrested two 6-year-olds in two separate incidents was fired Monday, said Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon. Rolon said during an afternoon press conference the department was trying to give the officer “at least the benefit” of reviewing paperwork and statements. “It was clear today when I came into work that there was no other remedy than to terminate this officer,” he said. Rolon added that one of his top priorities as the chief of police is “to earn and protect the trust between the community and its officers” and this incident put that trust into question. “On behalf of myself and the Orlando Police Department, I apologize to the children involved and their families,” Rolon said. Police initially said one child was 8 years old, but Rolon said Monday they were both 6 years old. Turner attempted to arrest a six-year-old girl who was having a temper tantrum last week at Lucious and Emma Nixon Academy. The family of the girl claimed that the girl was fingerprinted and had a mugshot taken of her, but Orlando police denied the claim and say the girl was not processed. The other six-year-old, a boy, was reportedly processed through the juvenile system and released to his parents. Chief Rolon made slight mention of Turner’s own issues with his son, whom he allegedly beat after bringing home a bad report card in 1998 when the boy was seven years of age. Turner was arrested but said in an interview with The Sentinel that he felt within rights to administer discipline to his child. As previously reported Kenya Moore and her husband of two years Marc Daly, announced last week that they were splitting amid rumors that he has a secret ex-wife and children. The news was especially shocking considering that the couple made a joint appearance on “The Tamron Hall Show” and appeared together at a benefit reception in honor of the Black Man Lab at the Wimbish House in Atlanta. If you found the couple’s split shocking, you’re not alone. Kenya’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” costars were reportedly blindsided by the divorce announcement. TheJasmineBrand reports that the ladies of RHOA couldn’t believe the news—-but production is allegedly “relieved.” Why? Well because Marc was reportedly “difficult to work with” and “had lots of restrictions concerning his participation in the show.” Sounds fathomable, Marc was noticeably absent on the show and his appearances were very few and far in between. Remember when he finally showed up and the ladies couldn’t help but harp on his nose ring? The ladies are currently finishing up filming season 12 and they’re taking a scheduled cast trip to Greece (must be nice). And while rumors swirled that Kenya skipped out on the festivities, she confirmed herself that she’s currently overseas with the ladies; Cynthia, Porsha, Kandi, NeNe, Tanya Sam, and Marlo. Kenya went on Instagram Live this morning to show fans that she’s putting on a brave face and traveling to the foreign country. Source: SOPA Images / Getty *Graphic Video* A Boogie With The Hoodie’s Road Manager Caught Brutalizing Women On Tape Video has surfaced of man by the name of Yasin Touray , who apparently is the road manager to rapper A Boogie , viciously attacking a group of women in a hotel room in Las Vegas. The incident occurred while A Boogie was in town for a performance on May 25th. Thankfully, the man has been arrested and charged with felony battery. In the clip, you see the huge man cold punch one of the women in the face and her body and head slams against a wall. Another runs up to help her and she’s hit with a nasty haymaker too and drops. The man then calmly walks out of the room as the women scream and cry. One checks her teeth in the mirror. Reportedly Touray did damage to her mouth. A few of her teeth were knocked out and nerve roots within her teeth were damaged, according to the police report. According to a Yahoo report , Touray was reportedly invited into the room by one of the women that he knew. However, they described him as being “agitated.” After asking them if they wanted to go out for dinner, they denied him which caused him to be upset. Afterward, he reportedly wanted to use the washroom but it was occupied by a woman who was naked and changing. The women said they demanded him to “leave their room.” He got physical with them and reportedly started punching them. Thankfully, the man has been arrested and charged with felony battery. SMH.
