Source: Thunder Kick Photos / SplashNews / Splash News Vh1 quizzed Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels to find out how much they agree or disagree on parenting questions. Around the 5:14 minute things get a little messy when the pair are asked which trait of Erica’s they hope the baby inherits… Both of them answer with her hair and then Safaree takes things a step further by saying he was shocked to learn that Erica has naturally thick “good” hair and isn’t hiding a net, lacefront, edge control or any of that stuff. We immediately knew some Barbz might take offense to the commentary, but Safaree has dated a few others since his split from Nicki, so perhaps a few others should also be concerned about his digs. Anyway, is Safaree even one to talk ? Doesn’t he have some hair assistance himself?
Source: Eric McCandless / Getty Demi Lovato Responds To Backlash Over Her Trip To Israel Demi Lovato recently posted about a “spiritual” vacation she took to Israel, being transparent about the fact that she was offered a free trip in exchange for posting about her experience. After making several posts about her experiences abroad, some fans weren’t happy with the photos and the fact that she went to Israel in the first place, accusing the singer of taking a political stance in the midst of the ongoing Israel and Palestine conflict. Because of the backlash, the singer turned off the comments on her Instagram page. View this post on Instagram I am an American singer. I was raised Christian and have Jewish ancestors. When I was offered an amazing opportunity to visit the places I’d read about in the Bible growing up, I said yes. There is something absolutely magical about Israel. I’ve never felt such a sense of spirituality or connection to God…something I’ve been missing for a few years now. Spirituality is so important to me…to be baptized in the Jordan river – the same place Jesus was baptized – I’ve never felt more renewed in my life. This trip has been so important for my well-being, my heart, and my soul. I’m grateful for the memories made and the opportunity to be able to fill the God-sized hole in my heart. Thank you for having me, Israel A post shared by Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) on Oct 1, 2019 at 2:48pm PDT After that, she took to her instagram stories to apologize for her ignorance on the subject, complaining that nobody told her there would be any problem with her trip before going. “No one told me there would be anything wrong with going or that I could possible be offending anyone. With that being said, I’m sorry if I’ve hurt or offended anyone, that was not my intention” she explained. The singer continued, “Sometimes people present you with opportunities and no one tells you the potential backlash you could face in return. This was meant to be a spiritual experience for me, NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT and now I realize it hurt people and for that I’m sorry. Sorry I’m not more educated, and sorry for thinking this trip was just a spiritual experience.” Demi Lovato apologizes for Israel trip after critics accused her of taking a political stance amid the country's ongoing conflict w/ Palestine: “This was meant to be a spiritual experience for me, NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT & now I realize it hurt people and for that I'm sorry.” pic.twitter.com/s6HsvdUACX — Pop Crave (@PopCrave) October 3, 2019 Beyond her apology though, Demi doesn’t seem to actually take any responsibility for the backlash herself and has taken to several IG comment sections to reprimand her fans for holding her accountable in the first place. After one fanpage said that Lovato didn’t deserve backlash and used the hashtag #WeloveyouDemi, she commented back, saying, “or how about y’all stop having to make hashtags saying you love me every time you realize your words effect me?” In another comment, she threatens her fanbase with leaving social media, writing, “Oh don’t worry, you guys made me feel terrible about it, and prob will continue to do so. I’ll be hibernating.” im so glad i don't stan demi I would have a panic attack probably every day pic.twitter.com/3Yub03pzTl — Zoë (@vogueinq) October 3, 2019 Beside the fact that Demi probably should have done a little research herself on whether or not visiting Israel was a good look, her apology definitely doesn’t seem too sincere when followed up by a bunch of comments blaming her fan pages for making her feel bad. Moral of the story: if you’re offered something for free, like…say, a trip to Israel, there’s probably a catch.
Source: Keyaira Kelly / Courtesy of Danielle James All summer I have been working towards perfecting my wash and go. My hair is currently in a triangle tapered cut and it looks the edgiest and most defined in a wash and go. While I love the nutrients I’m able to give my hair, the one thing I don’t love about rocking a wash and go is the shrinkage. I’ll start with my hair by my chin and by the time it dries, it’s right by my ears. Honestly, it changes the look of the cut drastically and by 3PM…I’m over it. (Just my personal opinion). I got my hands on a sample travel pack of Aunt Jackie’s Don’t Shrink Flaxseed Elongating Gel ($5.89, target.com ) and their Moisture Intensive Leave In Conditioner ($6.39, target.com ). I went on an overnight trip and decided to pack it to give it a try for my wash and go. I washed my hair with the hotel shampoo and conditioner, stepped out and got to business. First, I sectioned my hair and began to apply the leave in conditioner. It smells really nice and as I shingled the product through my curls, I felt the texture coming out strong. Next, I layered the Elongating Gel and shingled the product through my curls. At first I didn’t love it. I didn’t think it made my curls pop like my creams normally do. However, I liked it much better as it began to dry. The product rings true: it’s does elongate your curls! The gel left my hair defined, but flexible. I wish the product had make my curls pop more, but on days I want more length, I’ll definitely be using this. Have you tried Aunt Jackie’s Flaxseed Elongating Curl Gel? The annual event kicked off with various hair education presentations ranging from styling wig units to the difference between cutting weaves, natural hair and relaxed hair and the art of advertising. There was also a presentation that highlighted the causes of hair loss and learning how to properly care and treat Black hair. Source: SOPA Images / Getty Three smugglers are thanking both the heavens and the infamous coca plant after a harrowing experience. The trio hung on to their product, bales of cocaine, for dear life while waiting for help. Raw Story is reporting that the trio were on route to transport 1.2 tons of cocaine from Tumaco, Colombia . While in the middle of the Pacific sea they were met with very rough waters; so rough that their ship was capsized by a wave. The men did not have a safety raft forcing them to keep afloat while holding onto their bales of the illegal substance. Seven hours later the Colombian coast guard found them about 30 nautical miles from shore. Captain Jorge Maldonado of Colombia’s Task Force Against Drug Trafficking described the scene. “The coastguard arrived and these three people were floating on a material that by its characteristics resembled drugs ” he revealed. While the unidentified males were still in good health they were formally arrested once they arrived on the mainland. The Task Force say that they are still looking for a fourth man who was a part of their crew but has yet to be located. Photo: Getty

Source: WENN.com / WENN LaVar Ball and his overbearing presence in directing the basketball careers of his three sons cast a shadow on their potential trajectory, although he managed to craft business deals with them in mind. Now, a former business partner is excusing the Ball family patriarch of embezzling funds from the family’s various business holdings. The Blast shares in a new report that Ball’s former business associate, Alan Foster, filed suit and alleged that the father of Lonzo, LiMelo, and LiAngelo Ball has been pilfering funds from the business to fund his own personal needs. Foster was a partner in the Big Baller Brand athletic brand, and the Ball Sports Group, a sports and entertainment company. From The Blast : According to Foster, “In early 2016, in furtherance of LaVar’s intense desire to share in, or rise above, the glory and spotlight of his sons, LaVar approached Alan and asked for his business guidance on how to monopolize and gain fortune and fame from the names and likenesses of his three sons. In response, Alan suggested that the two men brand the “Ball” family name in order to create basketball and entertainment-related businesses. LaVar loved Alan’s idea and wanted to make sure that he was the biggest star in the family, notwithstanding the fact that he was broke, had no savings, poor credit and zero business acumen.” “LaVar is a liar who fraudulently utilized BBB and BSG to fund his personal lifestyle,” the docs state. Lonzo Ball filed a suit against Foster, alleging that it was him that took money away from the Ball business for his own personal gains. — Photo: WENN
Source: Tanasin Srijaroensirikul / EyeEm / Getty “Making A Murderer’s” Brendan Dassey Asks For Pardon, Commutation One of the subjects of Netflix’s “Making A Murderer” is asking to be released. Brendan Dassey wrote a handwritten note to Wisconsin’s Governor Tony Evers asking to be pardoned or commutated from his life prison sentence. As previously reported Dassey was 16 years old when he confessed to the 2005 rape and murder of photographer Teresa Halbach alongside his uncle Steven Avery. The then-teenager also said he helped burn her body in a bonfire. NBC News reports that Dassey recently told Gov. Evers that he’s innocent and deserves to be released. “I am writing to ask for a pardon because I am innocent and want to go home,” Dassey said in a handwritten note to Evers that accompanied his application. Dassey congratulated Evers, a Democrat who took office in January, on becoming governor. Dassey also listed things he enjoys including Pokemon and hamburgers and drew a pair of hearts with the word “hugs” in one and “love” in the other. Here is Brendan Dassey’s handwritten note to @GovEvers asking to be pardoned back in April. He signs it ‘love the complete and innocent Brendan Dassey’. I reached out to @GovEvers for comment, nothing yet. pic.twitter.com/eWGQGRPsU3 — Brittany Schmidt (@BritSchmidtNews) October 2, 2019 The Governor did recently restart the state’s public pardon board but NBC reports that “to be considered the applicants must have completed their prison sentences” or they will be rejected. A spokeswoman for the governor also added that the Governor is not considering a pardon “at this time” but Dassey’s attorney Laura Nirider is hoping for an exception. This all comes amid allegations that the TRUE killer of Teresa Halbach has come forward. Newsweek reports that an inmate who remains anonymous told filmmakers of upcoming documentary series “Convicting a Murderer” that he was responsible for the infamous death. Shawn Rech, director of Convicting a Murderer, told Newsweek his crew were given the confession while filming the documentary series. “We haven’t confirmed the legitimacy of the confession, but seeing as it was given by a notable convicted murderer from Wisconsin, we feel responsible to deliver any and all possible evidence to law enforcement and legal teams,” he told Newsweek. “Having been in production for 20 months, we’ve uncovered an unfathomable amount of information and evidence that is leading us to the truth. Our investigation does not end here.” Do YOU think that Brendan Dassey should be released???
