The deal will keep him in the city through 2024, and guarantees him over $107 million. The deal could escalate to a max of $144 million with incentives. With years on his rookie contract, it makes his deal six years and could max out at $170 million according to ESPN. Carson lets the fans know exactly how he is feeling about the deal in an instagram video posted by the Philadelphia Eagles. Some fans may be spectacle about the deal because of the past injuries, but it’s the best move for the franchise, and sets them up with a core of players for the next 3 years that should give the team serious chances at another Super Bowl. He is here to walk in his purpose and be of service, which means creating music that uplifts and guides his listeners. He is a conduit and remains so by staying connected to God. The minister of music is promoting his latest album Long Live Love that features the debut single OK. Franklin’s love for God developed a young age and because of that, it is deeply rooted in gospel grounds. ‘If you only make Jesus, this spare tire, this Sunday buffet and you only make him a Christmas holiday, your roots never go to go deep,” Franklin says confidently in a candid chat. “And when they don’t go deep, you go to college, you forget. You get older, you forget. You go through these seasons of life where it just wears off because the roots never went deep.” Even when he faced trials and tribulations, he’d seek his savior to correct his mistakes and work on his flaws. He attributes his sincere love to the fact he didn’t have a father growing up and how the Father became his “dad.” “I felt the need to have that Him and I couldn’t find it in my community, I couldn’t find it at church. So it was kind of there in my spiritual walk and my faith walk. And so that has kept me where my appetite is just as hungry now as it was when I was 15.” The power of the word and sounds of gospel are the ultimate healing tools. Though his music has revolutionized the gospel genre, he humbly reframes from taking the credit for it. “I was raised around people that do what I do every day. So what I did was not unique for me.” Franklin, however, credits his ability as a songwriter as the gift from God that helped him shift the culture. “In gospel music, there are many people who do what I do. I really think that it was to get the songwriting, they kind of made it do this.” The 12-time Grammy award winning artist is simply “speaking what was put inside of him.” That voice inside him speaks to his purpose in life. Franklin believes anyone can find their purpose, but being a part-time Christian won’t guide you there. “We give God a big hug and kiss for the gift and they close the door and say, I got it from here. In finding Christ, I find the purpose of my life, I am able to unlock all of the doors of my spirit and the doors of my God given reason for breathing. And it’s already there. But if I’m a booty call Christian, if I’m a spare tire Christian, the jump-off Jesus dude, I’m never going to be able to tap into bikes that are already made for me, I’m going to be spend the rest of my life, putting together pieces.” Putting the pieces together can ultimately lead to healing by the grace of God and Franklin believes in giving people that space and time to heal. When asked about his friend and collaborator Kanye West’s “Sunday Service,” Franklin thinks adding merchandise to the experience was a “mistep.” But thinks we should let people heal. “I think the merchandise thing, I’m split on if that was him or his team, because you can have people around you that don’t always share the same heartbeat on how deep something is for you. What I see in Kanye and in my conversation with Kanye, this is part of his healing. This is part of the medicine. This is part of his strategy. Let the man heal. The T-Shirts and different things are what they are. But the fact that this music has the power to heal people’s soul. That’s exactly what it is. Yeah. A longtime Miami news anchor and reporter Todd Tongen met a tragic end at age 56 when he committed suicide, according to WPLG Local 10 News . According to the outlet where Tongen worked for 30 years, Tongen’s wife was on vacation in Italy with their younger son when she was unable to reach her husband. She asked a friend to check on Tongen and eventually, the police were called. The anchor was found dead in his home on Monday morning. His brother, Dr. Scott Tongen, told Local 10 that he had no clue Todd was struggling. “I don’t really think he was thinking about ending his life, as far as I know,” he said, explaining that Todd had upcoming plans for a trip to Canada and Las Vegas. “But there was clearly something that was bothering him.” Seeking help is not a sign of weakness. In response to the tragic news, WPLG President and CEO Bert Medina released a statement to the outlet about Todd and the memories the station would cherish: “We are shocked and saddened by the death of Todd Tongen, but we are choosing to remember how he lived,” Medina said. “Todd was an incredibly talented journalist. He spent 30 years at WPLG telling the stories of the people in our community and giving so much of himself to this community. He was an incredible person. He lit up the room with his warm personality.” He continued: “As hard as it is, our news team is reporting on the circumstance of Todd’s death, we will report on this painful subject of suicide and mental health and perhaps we can help one person out there who is struggling. We miss Todd terribly. Sometimes in our society it takes being pushed to the edge to make extreme decisions that actually better your life. We’ve seen it amongst Black mothers who make a way out of no way, we’e seen in it starving artists who go homeless chasing a dream, and it’s the story of Remi Adeleke , who overcame the odds of his drug-ridden community where trouble lurked at every turn. He pushed himself to join the Navy SEALs. “I didn’t want to fail anymore,” he says. “I felt like I had nothing left. The Seals team was my way out. I had no other options [and] that’s what pushed me.” From being stripped of everything by the Nigerian government after losing his father at a young age to being raised by a single mom in the Bronx, Adeleke had to adapt. Luckily, his mother instilled “excellence” into him and his siblings that stuck with him, even after he navigated poor school systems, illegal activity and more. After joining the SEALs team, which he had to prove himself for because it almost didn’t happen due to some legal issues, Adeleke went on to become an entrepreneur, actor ( Transformers: The Last Knight , 2017) and now, author. In the interview up top, Adeleke describes how he transformed his life and what he wants people to know about overcoming odds. “[I’m not] trying to show people how good I am. [I’m] trying to show people how bad I was. As time began to progress, I began to use my failures, derive the lessons from those failures, take those lessons, and turn them into successes. So that’s what I hope people get from this book,” he says. “If you fail, cool. But do not let that failure define your future. Source: FOX / Getty Jussie Smollett and the alleged faked attack in Chicago still hangs over his head, and now portions of the investigation are becoming available to the public. The latest evidence to be made public was a 911 made by a friend of Smollett noting that the reportedly former Empire actor was found with a noose around his neck. TMZ reports : On the January 29 phone call, which Chicago PD just released, the friend says Jussie’s “attackers” wrapped a noose around his neck, after getting jumped as he left a Subway restaurant. The caller says Jussie didn’t want to file a report, but he was going to force him to do so. The male friend sounded panicked as he said, “They put a noose around his neck” and added … “this is really f**ked up.” Police had said the 911 call was made 40 minutes after Jussie got back to his Chicago apartment. The Golden State Warriors have been the subject of extreme trolling from Drizzy while taking on his Raptors in Toronto. After walking away with the victory in game 2, subsequently shutting up the 6 God and the Klay Thompson alongside calling Drizzy “bum ass” from outside of their locker room they took things a step further for Game 3. The depleted defending champs decided to troll Aubrey by warming up to Pusha T’s diss track “Story of Adidon” that was directed at him and revealed he had a secret child. Many fans were quick to point out that her new duds seem to be inspired by Mark Waid and Alex Ross’s classic Kingdom Come series in which Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League find themselves retired from superhero life only to come out of retirement after the new generation of heroes ways of protecting becomes reckless and tragic. Whether or not that is the case remains to be seen as we’re sure Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins will answer as many fans questions as possible at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con, but until then all we can do is take in all this goodness and appreciate what Jenkins has done with the classic superhero thus far. Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters on June 5, 2020.

I sat down with Kevin Hart to discuss this role, his long terms plans and retirement as well as discovering his Secret Life. He knows absolutely nothing about how to work his house. “People know how I am but you don’t know how I am. If you could actually see me in my house it’s probably the funniest thing ever. I’m just the dad that don’t know nothing! I don’t know sh*t! Bay bay! Baby!! The theater thing went off. How I get it back on? Bay Bay!!” After my interview with Kevin, I sat down with Bobby Moynihan and Lake Bell to have some fun about pets and asked them If Goofy is a dog and if so why is Pluto a dog? Bobby summed it up very quickly saying “They both dogs!” Bobby and Lake also join on board to make a passionate call to get DMX to be in the third installment of Secret Life of Pets. Its a must watch.
