The east side of Atlanta is quickly become known for producing talented rappers and the rap duo Blo5k (pronounced Block) are adding their names to that list. Who Will Receive John Singleton’s Money? Family Fights Over Filmmaker’s Will

I t’s been a little more than a week since John Singleton died, but there was already a battle brewing over his fortune. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker and father of seven left a will that was from 1993 when he only had one child. Now the siblings were reportedly preparing for a battle in court. SEE ALSO:  John Singleton’s Family Moves To Protect His Assets Sheila Ward, Singleton’s mother who also handled all of her son’s business affairs, reportedly filed the 1993 will in court. TMZ reported that  “she listed his assets at around $3.8 mil. That means more than $31 million is unaccounted for.” Singleton’s estate was estimated to be worth $35 million. It is possible Singleton had a trust for his kids, which would mean they wouldn’t have to go through a will. As it stands now, under law all of the money would go to his firstborn, Justice. However, another of Singleton’s kids, Cleopatra, reportedly accused Ward of trying to block the children from the estate. TMZ also reported that if Singleton “had died without a will, Sheila would get nothing from his reported $35 million estate, because under California law the assets would be divided equally among his 7 children. But, since there’s a will, John decides who gets what, and who gets nothing. Given the business relationship between John and Sheila, it’s a safe bet she’s the executor of the will, which surely would not please Cleopatra.” Cleopatra filed a motion to block her grandmother’s proposed conservatorship and claimed Ward was trying to liquidate all of John’s assets and freeze out his children. TMZ also reported “the kids could file a separate lawsuit if they have beef over the trust or whatever John created to dispose of the $31 mil. A legal fight may not just pit grandma against grandkids … it could also pit some of the kids against the others.” Singleton was hospitalized last month after he suffered a stroke. The family decided to take the 51-year-old off life support on April 17, when he died . Singleton was reportedly experiencing weakness in his leg after flying back from Costa Rica before he suffered his stroke. The long flight may have triggered the medical emergency. Singleton is known for films like 1991’s “Boyz n the Hood,” which earned him Academy Award nominations for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. He was the youngest filmmaker to be nominated in those categories. He was also the first African-American to be nominated for Best Director. Rest in power, John Singleton. Ciara’s Met Gala Hair Was Constructed Of 6 Afro Wigs

Hair stylist Cesar DeLeon Ramirez is the mastermind behind the look and gave us details about his process and how you can recreate the look. “This years theme for Met Gala was camp,” Ramirez explained. Having the green light was all I needed to go OVER OVER board! Ciara and I have been doing a lot of textured hair lately which inspired Peter to draw his inspiration sketch with a beautiful Afro. That reinforce me to keep with the textured movement. Peter and I played off of each other and decided on a dramatic version of a Diana Ross Afro. Once I saw the Dress and head piece I knew I wanted to combine that with an African Princess vibe. Some of my “camp” inspos were Diana, Josephine Backer and Cher.” Here’s how you can recreate the look in 7 steps: Source: John Shearer / Getty Step 1: Prepare Your Wig Mannequin I Deconstructed the curls of three wigs, while maintaining the tight curls of the other three wigs. The volume of the deconstructed wigs helped to push out the loosened curls of the others. Once attached, the curls interact with each other within the wig for a dimension in texture, maximum volume and drama. First step is proper pinning. Treat the mannequin like an actual human face to properly line up the hairline. The center line represents the nose, followed outwards by the eyes, and then the ears. This form must serve as a guide so that the wig is constructed to complement the face, ensure symmetrical placement, etc. Tip: Use a Wildform detangling brush with natural wooden bristles to loosen the curl and add volume. (Line-up of wig care accessories coming soon). Step 2: Constructing The Wig Cut out all wig combs and hanger linings. Usually, you would cut the lace of the wig with a zig zag pattern, (for front of hairline) but here with the wigs that are being attached to the other wig, it’s okay to cut straight cause we’re just attaching wigs to one another, which will then be hand sewn together. Tip: Use nylon thread to sew it’s more durable, nylon will not break. DON’T use a cheap thread! I then styled the afro at the crown of the head up and away off of her face, so to maintain a pretty shape and not lose  Ciara ’s face in all of that hair. I used my Wildform wooden brush and my Unite Go 365 hairspray to brush the hair up and away towards the crown, which created additional height without covering the face. Step 5: Assemble The Afro Hand sew together lace (for the area around the face) and sewing together the tracks at each wig base. Basically connecting one end to the other to transform 6 wigs into one. Source: John Shearer / Getty Step 6: Volumize I used Unite hair spray’s ‘3-in-one’ spray for a customizable hold (soft, medium, or strong) We moved the adjustable nozzle up to strong here to securely hold the sewn in pieces in place. Continuously sprayed the hair while standing a few feet away from the unit to avoid build-up while using a pick to create and customize the shape of afro. Step 7: Final touches. I used Unite Conundrum paste to define and lay her edges. This product is amazing and so versatile. It’s a wax a paste and styling cream all in one. To finish I sprayed half a can of Unite 7 second Glossing Spray and anti-humectant to prevent reversion but with superb shine. Tip: When attaching multiple wigs to make one wig. Mock it up first by pinning it together to see the and finalize the shape before sewing it together. R. Kelly Challenged Michael Avenatti’s Sex Tape Claims In Court Today

Kelly made his way to court Tuesday (May 7) to battle claims made by attorney Michael Avenatti, who says he was given a pair of sex tapes showing Kelly engaging in sexual acts with underage girls. Kelly’s side is fighting the claims, saying that Avenatti manipulated and conspired with Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx into bringing this case to light and wants the alleged footage tossed. TMZ reports : The embattled singer is trying to blow up the sex tape by suggesting something fishy was going on between Avenatti and Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. In R. Kelly’s legal docs, he notes Avenatti has publicly claimed to have had repeated conversations with Foxx, and based on what happened in the Jussie Smollett case, he describes the prosecutor as someone who is “able to be influenced and wowed.” He goes on to allege there are questions to suggest Foxx was “bullied or just simply manipulated by Avenatti.” Avenatti previously came forward with 2 sex tapes he claims show Kelly having sex with a 14-year-old girl … and Kelly’s legal team wanted to know more about Avenatti’s relationship with Foxx, saying they were concerned Avenatti might have “bullied or simply manipulated” Foxx. Thanks to previously unreleased footage, onlookers now have a glimpse of what Bland saw that day after a recording of her arrest she made went public. WFAA exclusively reports : The new video — released as part of a WFAA exclusive in partnership with the Investigative Network — fuels the Bland family’s suspicions that Texas officials withheld evidence in her controversial arrest and, later, her death. Until now, the trooper’s dashcam footage was believed to be the only full recording of the July 2015 traffic stop, which ended in Bland’s arrest. The trooper claimed he feared for his safety during the stop. The 39-second cellphone video shot by Bland remained in the hands of investigators until the Investigative Network obtained the video once the criminal investigation closed. The family is demanding a criminal investigation be reopened as a result of this new footage as they too are just seeing it themselves. Bland’s sister was reported by WFAA as accusing the Waller County authorities of pulling wool over the public’s eyes. “We also know they have an extremely, extremely good cover-up system,” Shante Needham said. Pinhead To Once Again Make Your Nightmares Reality in ‘Hellraiser’ Reboot

In a year that’s seen cats come back to life thanks to a pet sematary, a doll named Chucky take on homicidal tendencies, and the return of a demonic dancing clown that feasts on children like they’re lemon pepper chicken wings, we’re now getting word that another 80’s horror icon is about to be resurrected for a new generation of horror buffs. According to Deadline , Clive Barker’s classic film Hellraiser is being rebooted by Spyglass Media Group and they’re handing over the reigns to celebrated writer/producer David S. Goyer ( Blade, The Dark Knight ). For y’all youngn’s that aren’t familiar with the Hellraiser franchise, it basically revolves around a rubik’s cube that can open a door to an alternate dimension where a demon known as Pinhead resides and who gets off on watching users suffer all kinds of bodily harm. Using specialized chains, hooks, and whips, victims immediately regret playing with fate and end up getting torn to pieces before becoming a part of his leatherclad click known as Cenobites. Since it’s debut in ’87, Hellraiser has seen 10 sequels (most of them were eh, but bloody and gory), and some graphic novels that it’s most hardcore fans collected over the decades. Though most remakes are suspect and usually cash grab moves, David S. Goyer is a proven veteran who’s made some classic joints over the years and as it turns out he’s a fan of the horror franchise, so this might actually turn out to be a genius move. Goyer said, “I’ve been a fan of Clive’s work since the original Books of Blood paperbacks and The Hellbound Heart novella. Having the chance to reimagine Pinhead and the Cenobites for a new audience is a nightmare-come-true.  Gary is a true fan as well and we’re committed to making something dark and visceral.” No word on when Hellraiser will be landing in theaters but best believe we’ll be eagerly awaiting to see what kind of nightmare Goyer brings to the big screen.
