Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty President Obama Just Landed A Spot On The Billboard Charts Barack Obama has just scored a spot on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart. Y’all’s lil president could never. The Hawaii native debuted on this week’s list for his contribution to the new gospel-inspired arrangement of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton hit “One Last Time (44 Remix),” according to Billboard . Obama’s contribution to the song (unfortunately) doesn’t include any singing, but he delivers his rendition of George Washington’s farewell address on the track–which also features original Hamilton cast member Christopher Jackson and gospel star BeBe Winans. The song is a variation on the original song from Hamilton and debuted at No. 22, one slot above the John Legend’s holiday hit, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Lin-Manuel Miranda released the track on December 20 as his last “Hamildrop” of the 2018, and of course, its title is an obvious nod to Obama being the 44th U.S. president. President Obama’s history with Miranda dates back to 2009, when the he held “An Evening of Poetry, Music & Spoken Word” at the White House. Miranda rapped a song from what he was calling his “Hamilton Mixtape,” and the performance garnered tens of thousands of views online. That event is what helped inspire the full-blown 2016 musical that went on to win the New Yorker’s musical 11 Tony awards, as well as the 2016 Grammy for best musical theater album and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for drama. The entire cast visited the White House in 2016 and Miranda once again returned in 2017 to perform “One Last Time” as a tribute to Obama at the end of his second term.

According to WTLX 29-year-old mother of 2, Leisa Bonique Johnson, was killed in front of her 3-year-old and 5-year-old daughters while attempting to push her broken down SUV out of the road at 1 a.m. on Monday. When the truck stopping running in the middle of a Spartanburg, South Carolina road, Johnson attempted to push the car to the shoulder and in the process became pinned under the vehicle with the girls sitting inside. The panicked children used her cell phone to call police, but clearly there was nothing they could do to help their mother. Johnson’s aunt and uncle say the car ran out of gas as she was driving to the emergency room, potentially to deal with blood pressure and blood sugar issues. The girls reportedly got out of the car three times and witnessed their mother’s death says Leisa’s aunt Sheila Rookard: “They managed to get out the car three times to see their mama up under their car,” said Rookard. “It’s going to be a struggle, you know, from the beginning, especially with them kids seeing that with (their) mom and stuff,” Rookard said. “Y’all just pray for us.” Here’s where things get a bit shady, in a story on WSPA, one of the daughters reportedly told a family member that a police officer pulled up and told Leisa to get the car out the road. Then left. A woman. With 2 small daughters. To move a car. Alone. At 1 a.m. Reporters are working to confirm the validity of that claim. If true, could spell BIG trouble for said officer and the police department. Rest in peace, Leisa Johson. Those poor girls…

Diddy is said to have personally chosen Alex to be Cassie’s trainer for the last year. Despite the fact that Cassie has reportedly said that Diddy’s timeline is off, folks close to the situation say there is definite overlap. It’s said that Diddy’s gears are ground because he essentially paid another man to steal his lady. As previously reported Phaedra posted a pic with Chicago radio host Tone Kapone on New Years sparking rumors that they’re coupled up. Kapone’s since gone on his Instagram Live to confirm that he’s indeed dating Phaedra. According to the WGCI host he didn’t want extra attention about it but Phaedra’s post was “self-explanatory.” “Me and Phaedra are dating. Okay cool? Is that it?” said Tone on his IG Live. “That’s the moment everybody’s waiting for. It was kinda self-explanatory on her page, I didn’t wanna repost it because it seemed like it’d be super weird—like ‘Hey, look at me.’ There it is, that’s what it is.” He also added that he avoided posting the picture because he didn’t want to read fan comments. Childish Gambino is going to headline on Friday, Tame Impala has Saturday, and Ariana Grande will close out the festival on Sunday. Donald Glover was one of the first names on the list of supposed headliners that fans have been speculating over for months–though he’s not accompanied by Justin Timberlake or Kanye West , who many sources said were set to be the other two on the ticket. It’s no surprise one of the biggest festivals in North America wanted Childish Gambino to headline after the year he’s had. He hosted Saturday Night Live , claimed his first No. 1 hit with “This Is America,” and embarked on an extremely successful accompanying tour. Ariana Grande–though she admits 2018 was the worst year of her personal life–had what many would consider the best year of her career. The songstress released Sweetener last August, has a tour planned for this year, and her most recent hit, “Thank U, Next,” is still on top as the No. 1 song in the country. Even with the amazing years these headliners have had, it’s going to be tough following up Beyonce’s performance–talk about applying pressure. Source: Edward Berthelot / Getty ASAP Bari Pleads Guilty To Sexual Assault, Gets Fined £4,000 ASAP Bari has officially pleaded guilty to one charge of sexual assault in London. According to reports from iTV , Bari has been fined £4,000 (approximately $5,034) in lieu of jail time, and must also pay £2,500 (approximately $3,145) to the victim. “The court does have concerns in this matter because it has exposed a very unpleasant attitude by you towards women,” Judge Zoe Smith QC said on Thursday of the footage that originally surfaced back in 2017. “You say that you were angry but there is no need to ever be so abusive and humiliating to a female.” The footage showed Bari pulling bed covers off a naked woman before slapping her buttocks. He is also seen telling the woman to give him oral sex. “The defendant flew back to America later that same morning,” prosecutor James Lofthouse said, per a separate report from the Mirror . “However, about three to four days later she (the victim) became aware through her mother that footage had been circulating on the internet. It’s that footage we have seen in court. Following that she of course got back in touch with the officer.” In a statement from Bari’s team, initially released after the footage in question surfaced online in 2017, Bari first described the clip as being misleading. “Comments about myself or anyone being detained or arrested are false,” Bari’s rep claimed at the time. At one point, Bari was suing the woman seen in the clip for defamation and civil extortion. Reports from August 2018 show that Bari argued the woman was “pressuring him into settling.” He also claimed at the time that the woman, referred to in court documents as Jane Doe, initially told local authorities that he did not sexually assault her but later changed her story for court.

Instead of using her check only for jewelry, cars or other luxury items, Michelle is dropping a bag on land ownership for her son Chase. According to a Instagram post she made on Wednesday, Michelle opened up a bank account for Chase and purchased him some land. In the caption for her post, Michelle wrote: “Starting off my new year opening up Chase’s bank account and buying him land. LAND is what our ancestors fought for we have to buy more land and less chains and shit. He is the only thing I’ve worked hard for is HIM and my family. The perfect way to start 2019.” It seems Jigga isn’t the only one thinking about “Legacy” and wealth. Money phone rappers take note.
