Source: SAUL LOEB / Getty Kanye West and his worldwide tap dance for MAGA tour are currently stationed in Africa for at least a week. Right after West met with President Donald Trump and a weird Apple store “keynote speech,” the Chicago superstar traveled to Uganda t o a resort where he and his team erected a futuristic outdoors recording studio. The Blast reports : In a video he titled, “Spaceship calling earth| 3 Domes Uganda,” West started off sitting inside one of the tents before wandering outside. At one point, West gets a little annoyed when a sound engineer stops the music before he had a chance to start rapping. One particular lyric stood out from the rest: “Relax your mind, let your conscience be free, no matter what they say, I’m a still be me. Be free, be free, be free!” For all you “Poopy-di scoop” fans, we have good news — the infamous non-sensical lyric makes a return in this new video. Source: WENN / WENN Kanye West is currently in Uganda, waxing philosophic about mind control and recording new music. So of course, meeting Uganda’s President made it onto his itinerary.  The Associated Press reports that Yeezy linked up with President Yoweri Museveni on Monday (Oct. 15) and that they had a “fruitful discussions” about “promoting tourism and arts.” West gifted Museveni a pair of white adidas Yeezy sneakers. Reportedly, West and his wife, Kim Kardashian, have set up shop in a national park while he is recording music in a tent. Interestingly, the AP reports that some residents aren’t too thrilled about Yeezy’s presence while others have pointed out that Uganda’s President banned motorcycle riders from wearing hoodies to prevent crime. West wore a hoodie during his visit. I welcome American entertainment stars Kanye West and @KimKardashian to Uganda. I held fruitful discussions with the duo on how to promote Uganda's tourism and the arts. I thank Kanye for the gift of white sneakers. Enjoy your time in Uganda. It is the true Pearl of Africa. pic.twitter.com/BO0iD0sFCP — Yoweri K Museveni (@KagutaMuseveni) October 15, 2018 — Photo: WENN.com

Of Course ‘SNL’ Clowned Kanye West & Donald Trump’s Oval Office Shenanigans [Video]

The rest is here:

Source: NBC screen cap / NBC Kanye West embarrassed himself while visiting the Oval Office and performing a minstrel show on Thursday (Oct. 11). So it was a given that Saturday Night Live would recreate their bizarre at best lovefest.  With Alec Baldwin once again playing Donald Trump and Chris Redd portraying Kanye West, the jokes were flying. The conclusion, Yeezy is the Black version of Cheeto. “Oh my God, he’s Black me,” said SNL Trump (in his inner voice) after witnessing a man with an ego and narcissism to match. All things considered, where is the lie? Worth noting is that Baldwin also included a nod to his headass notion that Black people love him because of Trump portrayal . Also, props to the SNL writer who include the “scoopity dee whoop” Yeezy lyrics slander (see: “Lift Yourself”).

Kaepernick joins a list of legends who have received the award in the past, including the late Muhammad Ali and Maya Angelou . While accepting the award, Kaepernick recounted interacting with a high school football team during his travels around the country. “One of the young brothers says, ‘We don’t get to eat at home, so we’re going to eat on this field.’ That moment has never left me. And I’ve carried that everywhere I went,” he said, according to the news outlet. “I feel like it’s not only my responsibility but all our responsibilities as people that are in positions of privilege, in positions of power, to continue to fight for them and uplift them, empower them. Because if we don’t, we become complicit in the problem.” Amongst the other individuals who were honored included Bryan Stevenson , Florence Ladd , and Dave Chappelle . Kaepernick has won several awards for his brave decision to stay dedicated to what he believed in even though it impacted his career. Earlier this year, Amnesty International, a global human rights organization, awarded Kaepernick its 2018 Ambassador of Conscience Award. “This is an award that I share with all of the countless people throughout the world combating the human rights violations of police officers, and their uses of oppressive and excessive force,” he said during his acceptance speech. Author Addresses The Financial Impact Of Racial Bias

Read the original post:

T he Black community has felt the wrath of racial bias when trying to generate upward mobility in America. We’re hit hard by the ever-growing racial wealth gap where for every $100 in white family wealth, African Americans only hold $5.04. Many of us have also experienced the impact of institutionalized racism when applying for loans, seeking jobs, and trying to further our education. Shawn D. Rochester , financial literacy expert and author of the acclaimed book The Black Tax: The Cost of Being Black in America , is aiming to change the narrative about Black wealth by educating and empowering our communities. Rochester—who has dedicated his career to teaching disenfranchised groups how to progress financially—believes that overcoming the racial wealth gap starts with exposing individuals to the basics of financial literacy and circulating the Black dollar in Black communities. “We are missing 6 million jobs, 1.4 million businesses with staff and over $8 trillion of net worth in the Black Community. The Black Tax provides that understanding in a powerful and paradigm shifting, data-driven way and lays out an economic framework that we can use to address these massive gaps,” said Rochester in a statement. “We have spent far too much time focusing almost exclusively on civil and social issues, it is time to focus on economic advancement, business development and employment in our community specifically.” Rochester will delve into the impact of racism—both past and present—at an upcoming black economic empowerment breakfast hosted by the Harlem Business Alliance ; a non-profit organization focused on education, equity, and entrepreneurship. “When it comes to accumulating wealth in America, there has never been a level playing field for the Black Community. We are calling on community leaders, influencers and entrepreneurs to rally their base,” said Regina Smith , Executive Director, Harlem Business Alliance. “The systemic and institutionalized racism stemming from centuries of slavery and the Jim Crow era continues to have a devastating impact on our community.” The breakfast is slated to take place on October 17. There has been a major push to economically empower the Black community. Entrepreneur Sheena Allen , 29, launched an online banking platform called CapWay as an avenue to help underserved communities learn more about the importance of financial literacy. Her J-Setting, prancing and stepping was all the way on point. One fan tweeted , “ @Beyonce gave us a HBCU homecoming performance, just so y’all know. I mean the whole homecoming. Step show. Band. Dance. Concert. I’m telling you. You better do your research and then enroll! You won’t regret it.” And unlike some stars who steal from the lesser known without any form of compensation, Bey gave away 100,000 worth of scholarships to HBCU students . Some fans even joked that the Queen Bey didn’t get to live out her dream of being the HBCU dance team captain because she had to be Beyoncé.
