Backstage at a BadGalRiRi approved production is entirely different from any other NYFW backstage experience (maybe with the exception of Harlem’s Fashion Row ). For a lack of a better word, it was Black AF, while being inclusive AF. So much stood out! Here’s everything that you’d want to know about the backstage scene.

Though his cause of death has yet to be confirmed, TMZ says an apparent overdose had something to do with it. The rapper has had a notable struggle with substance abuse — as well as other emotional issues — which he often talked about in his lyrics. But despite the dark times in Miller’s life, fellow artists and fans chose to highlight the amazing things about Mac Miller after his passing. Some major figures, including, Chance the Rapper, Q-Tip, Missy and Questlove kept saying how sweet a guy he was… I dont know what to say Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever. But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew. Great man. I loved him for real. Im completely broken. Before performing a song in tribute to him, Childish told the audience, “He was the sweetest guy. He was so nice. And we were both Internet music kids, and a lot of critics were like ‘this corny-ass white dude, this corny-ass black dude,’ and we used to talk. And this kid, he just loved music.” Rappers like Talib Kweli also explained how Mac really had a love for hip hop and he often spoke up on issues of racism when the time was necessary. According to 11 News , a vigil for him was held in his hometown of Pittsburgh on Tuesday at Blue Slide Park, a location he named one of his albums after. Meanwhile, folks on social media immortalized his star status on building walls… Skateboards… And other artistic mediums… To say the rapper will be missed would be an understatement. According to TMZ , his casket is being flown from L.A. (where he died) to Pittsburgh and a Jewish funeral service is expected to happen this week. It’s clear his legacy will live on for years to come.

She was in a good mood,” Bevy reported on “Page Six TV.” But spies further told us Brown was later requesting vodka and “falling all over people.” But wait, that’s just a tease of the struggle. Then again, the wobbling could have been due to a wardrobe malfunction. “She had a wardrobe mishap . . . [a designer] sent her two shoes for the same foot. She was in 6-[inch] heel boots that would lace up to the knee . . . so she was kind of hobbling around, but we were talking and laughing,” said Bevy, who did not attend the party after the show. We hear that at the bash, Brown refused to perform, and promoters are now threatening to sue unless she gives back the money. A s the murder trial for Jason Van Dyke for killing 17-year-old Laquan McDonald gets underway in Chicago, prosecutors and defense lawyers are arguing over jury selection. Specifically, prosecutors have reportedly claimed that African Americans are being excluded from the jury. RELATED: Chicago Cop Who Killed Laquan McDonald Finally Faces Justice So far, the trial has only one African-American juror, who was chosen Wednesday (Sept. 12). The juror is a Black woman who appears to be in her 50s and works at Fed-Ex, according to the Chicago Tribune . However, half of the jury is white, while three are Latino, one Black and one person of Asian descent. In a case that has produced national unrest and dialogues over police brutality being motivated by racial bias, communities of color are watching this trial. As of now, prosecutors have focused on jury selection, saying that African Americans are being systemically kept away from the case. Defense lawyers struck Black jurors from the case during two trial days, the Tribune reported. Defense lawyers have disputed the prosecutors’ argument, creating a counter-narrative that white men have been booted from the jury. Activists and communities of color have protested for justice for McDonald, pushing for a trial which could lead to a first-degree murder conviction for Van Dyke. The former Chicago Police Department officer fatally shot McDonald 16 times in 2014, and cops released the shooting video in 2015 after a court order. The CPD faced allegations of covering up the shooting, with their account contradicting what dashboard camera video showed was McDonald trying to walk away from Van Dyke. The former officer is on trial for six counts of first-degree murder, 16 counts of aggravated battery and one count of official misconduct in McDonald’s death. Source: Spencer Platt / Getty Nike spotted the jig when it came to a former executive who was using his job with the company to supply two sportswear retail stores he owned with ridiculously discounted merchandise. Nike initially hired 51-year-old, David Reicher of St. Louis, Missouri as a salesman and wholesale account executive to sell its products and accessories to retail chains located throughout the Midwest according to court documents. His job allowed him to give discounts to his customers on top the of the wholesale prices they purchased the merchandise at for their stores. As revealed in the court documents the price-cuts rarely were over twenty-percent, and that included his most prominent customers. Those rules didn’t apply to the two St.Louis companies he bought with his business partner, Fan-a-Mania and JJL Sport. Reichart managed to finesse the game by not disclosing to the sportswear giant that he owned the retail stores. He sold himself merchandise that was discounted nearly three times the rate of the discount he extended to the other customer accounts he managed. When it was all said and done, Reichart embezzled close to $770,000 worth of licensed Nike-brand products . Reichart is now probably wishing he just didn’t do it and has pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud. He was sentenced in a Portland, Oregon court to 13-months in jail on Tuesday.
