Check out this pic from the tarmac Tuesday afternoon at the Van Nuys Airport … there’s a flowing, feathery, white dress protruding out the bottom of a garment bag as it’s loaded into the plane. In the worker’s other hand — what appears to be a suit … possibly a tux. [ione_media_gallery src=”https://zhiphopcleveland.com” id=”4763852″ overlay=”true”]
Source: Robin L Marshall / Getty We start tonight’s episode of Basketball Wives with Shaunie O’neal and one of her sons touring a new home. Basically, Inglewood is gentrifying, there’s a new stadium coming, and Shaunie is trying to get in on the money too. In other words, real estate is about to be yet another one of her hustles, even if it means potentially displacing people who will eventually get priced out. Tami Roman unveils her musical alter ego, a rapper named Tatiana Trill. Here, she meets up with Yoyo, the one and only. Yoyo along with Tami’s daughter Jazz, give Tami some tricks and tips of the trade. It’s a fun session, but the fun never lasts too long on this show because the rest of the episode is all drama. Speaking of, next, Kristen, Evelyn and Jenn meet up for lunch. Let’s cut to the chase. This is about gossip. Kristen tells Evelyn and Jenn that Cece has been fake toward OG *shocker* because CeCe was actually talking smack about her just last year. CeCe sent a string of nasty texts about OG back when CeCe and Kristen were cool, and Kristen has the receipts. It’s a lot of messages, but one of the messages shown was CeCe saying that OG isn’t attractive and dresses weird and that she looks like a man. Obviously, they feel like “CeCe needs to know” but really, they just want to be hurtful. You already know. Feby has a show coming up that’s supposed to be a big deal and she invited everyone. EVERYONE, including OG. You already know what this is but hold that thought. Tami, OG, and Jackie meet up to fill Tami in on the dysfunction that went down in San Diego. Obviously, OG and Jackie tell Tami about how Evelyn and Jenn made up. Tami isn’t moved because she still doesn’t fool with Jenn. Tami is also filled in about Feby denying that she wrote a diss track about OG. Jackie finally just breaks down tells OG that Feby actually did say this stuff because she was present. Tami is annoyed because she had a brunch to try to get people to know OG and is annoyed that Jackie didn’t say anything while that went down. And then, Jackie mentions Feby’s upcoming show and how Tami should come through. Tami said she might come but she’s going to continue to ride for OG if ish goes down. Let’s fast forward to Feby’s showcase. It starts off all cute with people greeting Feby before she gets on stage. OG isn’t there yet, so Malaysia is directing all her stank faces toward Jenn. Then Tami shows up, she still hates Jenn too so she forces her to give up her seat. Like, legit tells her to get up and let her sit and Jenn obliges then talks smack during her confessional because that’s what she does. OG finally arrives and tries to keep it cordial. Feby greets OG and then says she’s uncomfortable since they don’t get along. OG then says she was told that Feby admitted that her song was about OG. Feby lies again. OG was initially trying to keep Jackie’s name out of it then she just says that Jackie was there and heard Feby say this. Feby still lies so Jackie chimes in, saying she “was under the impression that Feby wrote the song about OG.” Beating around the bush and all that good stuff. Anway, Feby still won’t admit it but tells OG that she hasn’t been feeling OG for a while. OG then mentions something that CeCe told her and Feby says that CeCe isn’t her friend. OG doubles down and says that CeCe is her friend but then Jenn steps in and takes it upon herself to do what Kristen said she was going to do but is currently sitting silently about. Jenn reveals that Kristen has all those text messages with CeCe talking smack about OG. Mind you, CeCe wasn’t here through all of this, but then, she walks in right on cue. OG asks Cece if she said anything negative about her? CeCe says no, of course, because she and Feby are affected with the same scary chick amnesia. Jenn says there’s proof so of course OG wants to see it. Kristen obliges and shows her the messages. Again, it’s a long series of messages so we only get bits and pieces and it’s bad. OG says, “It says ugly ass hoe!” so that’s another snippet that we get. CeCe says she doesn’t remember saying that stuff. Tami jumps in and tells CeCe to own her shit. She typed it, it’s there, it obviously came from her so she should just apologize. Now it’s time for Feby to perform so this gets cut short, but CeCe just leaves instead of confronting this because she’s wack. OG actually looks hurt and is standing alone while everyone else is going to watch Feby perform. Kristen finds her and tells her that what just happened wasn’t to be malicious, suuuure , but that she’s tired of CeCe lying and if Byron won’t call her out then she will. She also tells OG that she’s tired of fighting and wants them to move forward. They agree to let the past be the past, and that’s that. OG says she’s disappointed in CeCe but they can’t talk now since she made like a Spalding and bounced. Shaunie is not present for any of the above. She’s actually at dinner with her family, including Shaquille O’Neal, so we end with Shaunie bonding with her family after all that foolishness. However, next week, we will pick up in the middle of the drama. The preview shows OG demanding that CeCe keep it real with her, but CeCe refuses. In fact, CeCe is going to say it was probably fake text messages knowing Kristen. Then we get closer to the Jackie and Malaysia fallout. It’s just a whole world of mess. At only 25- years-old, MannyWellz has toured with Jidenna , worked with Wale and already has a Grammy under his belt. He won in 2018 for a collaboration with DACA artists on the John Daversa Big Band’s American Dreamers: Voices of Hope, Music of Freedom album. Much like his contribution to the Grammy-winning body of work, Manny’s own projects embody the same soul and passion instilled in him at a young age. That is, God and love. His father was a musician and while he thought he’d be a soccer player who’d later tap into music, music tapped him sooner and we’re glad it did. Why? Because he creates music you can feel. Listen: His mission is simple: “I love God, I love music. I want to spread hope. I want to spread truth. And I want to have fun,” he said during our sit-down reflecting on what shaped him into the man he is today. Source: John Greim / Getty If CNN can pull it off, it will have an essential dream team of all-Black panelists for an upcoming political roundtable show. April Ryan, Andrew Gillum, Angela Rye, and Bakari Sellers all made a recent appearance together on the network during one of its morning shows, and it appears the chemistry was undeniable. Page Six reports : We’re told the cable network hopes to hire regular CNN contributors April Ryan, Andrew Gillum, Angela Rye and Bakari Sellers as panelists for a brand-new show. The plan was kicked into high gear following the positive response the group received after appearing on the network’s morning show, “New Day With Alisyn Camerota and John Berman” during the Democratic debates last week. “It was the most excitement on that morning show since Chris Cuomo left as co-anchor,” a source told us. “CNN is fast-tracking talks … to develop it into a stand-alone show. The early chatter is that it could start as a weekend show that would rival MSNBC’s programming with Joy Reid, the Rev. Al Sharpton and Kendis Gibson.” Sounds promising. Hopefully, CNN can pull this off. — Photo: Getty

The police chief in Galveston, Texas is apologizing after two of his officers, who were mounted on horseback, led a handcuffed suspect by a rope through the downtown streets. Photos of the Saturday incident went viral on social media over the weekend, causing outrage among everyone who saw it. The two officers linked the rope to handcuffs worn by 43-year-old criminal trespass suspect Donald Neely and led him around the block to a mounted patrol staging area. What you did here to this man, Donald Neely, is horrible and unacceptable. I would say “We need answers,” but nothing you can say would ever justify what you did to this man. Nothing at all. pic.twitter.com/OdVeqrFDcv — Shaun King (@shaunking) August 6, 2019 In a statement on Monday, following the public outcry for these officers to be fired, Police Chief Vernon Hale said “this is a trained technique and best practice in some scenarios,” such as with crowd control. However, he said he believes his officers “showed poor judgment in this instance and could have waited for a transport unit at the location of arrest.” He also added that his department has “immediately changed the policy” to prevent use of the technique. The statement concluded with, “We understand the negative perception of this action and believe it is most appropriate to cease the use of this technique. The Police Chief has taken immediate action to suspend this technique of transportation during arrests.” Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Close Thank you for subscribing! In an Instagram post, Williamson announced her departure while naming those who carried out the alleged acts. “I will not be returning for Season 2 of The Rookie,” Williamson wrote in the caption for the post. “I owe it to you my amazing fans to share the Truth. Throughout the filming of the pilot, I experienced Racial Discrimination/Racially Charged inappropriate comments from the hair department and bullying from Executive Producers.” She added, “During the Season, it continued along with Sexual Harassment from a recurring guest star, Demetrius Grosse, and the racist commentary & bullying from the Hair Dept. Head, Sally Ciganovich escalated into Sexual Assault at our Wrap party. The Sexual Harassment though reported directly to the Showrunner/EP remained undocumented and was not reported to HR as promised. Ciganovich was fired ONLY after the sexual assault and NOT for an entire year of outward racism/racially charged language and bullying behavior in and out of the Hair and Makeup trailer. HR protocol was never adhered to following the above reports given by me to my Showrunner/EP and an investigation was never issued for any of my claims.” In the following post, Williamson thanked her fans and supporters after making her announcement. “I am so beyond overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, kind words, scriptures, strength filled quotes and devout support that has come my way. One Instagram post is just like those 2 fish and 5 loaves of Bread,” Willamson wrote. “The rippling effect it has had in just a few hours shows how much this world is aching with victims of racism, discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual abuse all of it. The only time I was asked to participate in an investigation was after a meeting I called in June following our Season 2 announcement. This meeting included the Showrunner and two other producers as well as my agent and SAG-AFTRA Union Rep. It was clear to all present in the meeting that the Showrunner had not shared my reports with the any of the producers. After my initial report of sexual harassment, I was assured that Grosse would be fired. I was also asked to film with him the very next day as a courtesy to the script, even though we had not begun filming the episode yet. Grosse reappeared on our call sheet at the end of the season, I was even written in scenes with him. I asked the Showrunner about this and he admitted to me that the Grosse had not been fired nor had he gotten HR involved. I was asked to return this season, and promised that “everything was handled.” The investigation hadn’t even begun and Season 2 had already started filming. I turned it down and I walked. Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty M amie Till-Mobley, mother of Emmett Till, will be the central focus for season one of ABC’s Women of the Movement, a new series that will highlight and chronicle the civil-rights movement “as told by the women behind it.” The series will be produced by Jay-Z and Will Smith, both of whom were vital to securing the show a spot on ABC’s lineup. The show will focus on Mamie Till, whose son — Emmett Till — was lynched by a white mob in Mississippi for allegedly winking at a white woman in 1955. Following his death, Till-Mobley went on to join a forces with major players in the fight for civil rights justice following her son’s death. She dedicated the rest of her life to the civil justice and reform until her own passing in 2003. Jay-Z originally teamed up with HBO to work on a miniseries surround Emmet Till, where Taraji P. Henson was set to play his mother, but when director John Middleton died in April, the project was believed to be dissolved. It is not confirmed, but speculated that Women of the Movement is a the product of the work already done into the aforementioned miniseries surround Till. When proposed with the possibility of grabbing the rights to this, ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke instantly loved the idea as the series would turn attention to the women who were responsible for so many key events associated with the civil rights movement. This move aligns perfectly with Burke’s proposition to get more women in programming at the station.
