The 2020 election is underway, and although there are many Democratic candidates that could potentially be a good fit, no one has really blown me away enough to feel like “Yup, That’s her/him. That’s my next POTUS.” So like most millennials who’ve been brought up in the DIY era, I decided to come up with a cabinet of my own — celebrity style. Because hey — if a bigoted, reality star and businessman can run a country (barely) with zero experience, there’s a slew of celebs who would be a much better fit for each position in the Cabinet. Everyone knows and loves Zendaya , and as the star of the show, there’s no doubt that a lot of people first decided to check out the series because of her role as Rue . Beside a few other big names like Eric Dane from Grey’s Anatomy , a lot of lesser-known models, actresses, and influencers are making their television debut with their roles on Euphoria –and they’re absolutely killing it. Before Alexa Demie was known for her role on Euphoria , she had smaller roles on series like Ray Donovan , Marina in Love , and in films including Mid90’s and Waves . Now, she’s taking over our screens every Sunday with her portrayal of the perfectly imperfect Maddy Perez , who manages to both win over the audience’s heart and piss them off at the same time. In real life, she’s always posting immaculate photos onto her Instagram page and just gifted us with her personal ’90s glam tutorial via Vogue’s Youtube channel. Her makeup looks on and offscreen have everyone talking and after her success on the first season of Euphoria , we’re sure to see her in a lot more roles moving forward. Barbie Ferreira is another actress from the show whose built herself a real cult following online–but she wasn’t exactly unknown before hitting the small screen. On Euphoria , Barbie portrays Kat Hernandez , a girl who goes from losing her virginity to developing a whole new sexual persona entirely–a lot of which has to do with discovering that men actually find her fuller figure attractive. Even though this is her first major acting gig, the world has known Barbie for a while now because of her work as a plus size model. As someone whose been advocating for body positivity for such a long time offscreen, there’s no better person to go through that journey as Kat on Euphoria . Yet another breakthrough star who found their first acting gig in Euphoria is Hunter Schafer . Always sharing screen time with someone like Zendaya–whose been in the industry since she was a child–has to be tough, but she’s so good, you’d never know this is her first time learning lines. Offscreen, she lights up any room she walks into with her light-hearted and completely calm personality. Going from the world of modeling into a starring role on a TV show can’t be easy, and even though her role as a trans person on TV shows increasing diversity, she still makes sure to vocalize her privilege while advocating for others, including trans people of color. There are so many other women on the series that are absolutely killing it in their roles on Euphoria including Maude Apatow , Sydney Sweeney , and Storm Reid . It’s clear from their interactions online that these girls have built a real sisterhood with each other while making this series, and with season 2 already in the works, it’s going to make for even better on-screen chemistry when new episodes roll around. It’s refreshing to see a major HBO production hire up-and-coming talent instead of tapping into the same talent pool already floating around so many Hollywood productions. Now that these women have made such an impression on fans, it’ll be exciting what avenues they get into next. According to the Chicago Tribune , Chicago police charged 29-year-old Alicia Newby with a felony count of continuing a financial crime enterprise as a result of breaking into the Oscar nominee’s email and stealing her identification. It was Taraji’s manager who noticed the fraud of $4,000 and canceled the transactions that were in Taraji’s name but were being shipped to an address on the city’s south side. It’s unknown how the two knew each other and if any other Empire stars have fallen victim to her game, the Tribune noted. Newby, who is also 6-months pregnant with her seventh child, has been accused of having multiple victims racking fraudulent charges of more than $12,000. Authorities also began to look at her after she got into a fight with a mail carrier who refused to deliver the packages to her home due to suspicion of fraud. In court with Newby crying in front of the judge, her lawyer claimed that his client suffered from bipolar disorder. The judge must have felt generous that day, releasing Newby on $10,000 bail. According to The Blast , Gucci and Sheena Evans have finally come to an agreement. The 39-year-old rapper has agreed to contribute $10,000 a month towards supporting their son. According to the report, the parents were in court Friday for a hearing in their case. The two informed the judge they had a settlement privately and it was approved by the court. Along with the monthly agreement, Gucci will also make a six-figure payment to cover back child support. He will receive visitation and Evans will continue to have primary custody. A 5-year-old kid was out here saving lives and acknowledging his brilliance. According to Fox 32 , Jayden Espinosa was staying at his aunt’s home in Chicago with his two sisters when a fire broke out in the early morning. Everyone in the house was asleep, except Jayden, according to his mom Tracey Espinosa. “I smelled the smoke and I got up and went outside,” Jayden said. Apparently, the fire alarm had malfunctioned so Jayden had to spring into action. This is when he rushed to tell his aunt and everyone inside his home to get out. He didn’t just notify his family either. The home was a duplex, so there were neighbors downstairs asleep as well. Jayden ran to their unit to tell them about the fire, totaling the lives he saved to 13 people. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but The American Red Cross was able to aid Jayden’s aunt and cousins. When Jayden was asked how he knew what to do about the fire, his response was simple: “Because I’m smart and brilliant.” Okurrr! Source: Prince Williams / Getty It’s finally a wrap for season 8 of Love an Hip-Hop Atlanta . We pick up from the results of Karlie Redd’s VH1 sanctioned lie detector test. Basically, Karlie was telling the truth the entire time according to the test. There was no deception indicated when asked if she pooped on Pooh’s sheets, and about whether she had a threesome with Pooh and Hiriam, but the results were inconclusive when Karlie was asked if she was ever sexually intimate with Pooh and if she and Hiriam were ever sexually intimate. The inconclusive results are still shady, but for now, it seems like Karlie Redd told the truth. Pooh, looking like the liar that she is, starts yapping about how Karlie got butt shots on her bed, etc. The thirst is real. They go at it for a hot second until Nina Parker calms them down. Then Mimi adds her two cents about the night in question. Basically, Mimi left Karlie at the house and then all of a sudden, the next day, #TheBlogs had a story that a threesome happened at the house, which means someone leaked something, but Mimi didn’t see anything. Shekinah even jumps in and says that people do stuff like that in the A. For example, you could just be chilling at someone’s house thinking everything is on the up and up, then all of a sudden they’ll present you with a dildo just to see if you’re down with other extracurricular activities. Pooh doesn’t like that at all so she just starts going in on Shekina’s looks but in the end Nina Parker regains control of the situation and asks the court of public opinion, aka the audience, to clap for either Karlie or Pooh depending on who they believe. Most people went with Karlie. So that’s that. We move on to another segment where KK is in the spotlight, but then Pooh ends up using that as thee moment to run up on stage and sneak attack Karlie Redd. A lot of people get caught up in the melee, whether they got squashed as security tried to pull Pooh out of the scuffle, or whether they were involved in laying of the hands. KK sure pulled Pooh’s hair, and Tokyo Vanity may have tried to jump in too. Basically, Pooh is highly disliked and the sentiment only gets worse after she keeps getting into it with various people. In more positive news, Scrapp apologizes to Moniece for stringing her along and KK drops obvious, but still needed advice: “Freelance sex creates feelings,” and that’s why she is celibate. She ain’t lying. Next up are Kirk and Rasheeda. Nina asks Rasheeda what she meant when she said there were infidelities in their relationship on both sides. Basically, she meant that the infidelity on her part was before they were married. Translation: She was still just trying to take some of the heat off of Kirk’s awful dalliances, one of which produced a child. Stand by your man, I guess. Anyway, Kirk said they’ve been together for 25 years and have decided they can’t live without each other despite mistakes they’ve made and that’s that. Then we end the episode on Spice’s publicity stunt. Remember when she pretended she was going to get her skin bleached and all her light-skinned friends, aka Mimi and Rasheeda n’em freaked out? But then Spice was all, gotcha! Anyway, she proved her point. She got the conversation going about the colorism that dark-skinned people face, and her song, “Black Hypocrisy,” and the mixtape it was on did well. Even better, Mimi said she finally got where Spice was coming from when she said Mimi had light skin privilege. And that’s that. The Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, named for the late singer, is usually given to a performer who has created timeless pieces of art through the medium of music videos. Reportedly executives at the network are looking to change the name in order to distance themselves after the fallout of the explosive accusations made in HBO’s Leaving Neverland documentary. In the two-part series, two of Michael Jackson ’s former mentees, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, claim they were sexually abused by the singer over a period of years while they were minors. ( Terms and conditions ). “There’s a lot of heated discussion at the network about how to handle the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award this year, and it’s getting ugly,” a source told Page Six. “There’s talk about if they should change the name, or get rid of it altogether. [There’s also talk] about who would present it and who would accept it. It’s a mess.” “MTV [potentially] banning his name is the latest fallout. They haven’t decided yet, but they’ve been going back and forth on it. There are a lot of issues,” a source continued. The allegations made by Robson and Safechuck have been refuted by Jackson’s family and his estate. In February Jackson’s estate filed a $100 million dollar lawsuit against the network, claiming it had breached a prior contract by making disparaging remarks about the singer. HBO has countered, saying the terms of the contract have long since expired. The award first appeared in 1984 at the network’s inaugural show, and Jackson received the award in 1988. It was later named after the pop star in 1991. Rihanna, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lopez are some of the A-listers who have received the honor. Nominees for the award categories were announced last week, with Taylor Swift, Arianna Grande and Lil Nas X topping the list. The network has not yet announced who will receive the award in 2019. So when I asked Dwayne Johnson about this tweet his answer was epic. “I don’t know if I want to be the funniest actor in the game, I just want to bring the funny when the time is right, but who is on that list?” As I started to explain to him, who made the list, he interrupts. “It’s going to be Kevin Hart, Terry Crews, It’s gonna be Eddie Murphy. It could be Killian Murphy. The only thing that matters is The Rock is the most electrifying man in all of entertainment and the most funniest guy walking God’s green Earth is going to kick all of their candy asses.” Lastly, The Rock opened up about his daughter joining WWE and working out at the performance center as he stopped by there last week to see her put in the work in becoming a WWE superstar. I love that she wants to get in the business, I love the business of pro wrestling, I grew up in it, and she grew up in it too. Dwayne goes on to say that he gave his daughter some advice about her progress and reminded her that she still has a lot of room to grow. “I said They’re adults and you are the youngest one. You started at 16 and she’s 17 now. She’s been training just under a year. You gotta be patient, it’s going to come. You’re gonna make mistakes, don’t worry about your timing right now. You just gotta go full speed and come from (The heart). The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has been casted to star in the Power spin-off Power Book II: Ghost, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Series creator Courtney Kemp revealed during the Television Critics Association press tour that Blige has been added to the Power family. Blige, who is a big fan of the STARZ series, is ecstatic about joining the cast. “I’ve known so many Tashas, I’ve known so many Ghosts.
