Source: Gregg DeGuire / Getty This past weekend was full of trailers and Disney led the charge with a sneak peek at some anticipated flicks. First, they dropped a teaser for the remake of the 1998 animated movie Mulan. It was full of action-packed sequences and it’s clear actress Liu Yifei will do her best to reinterpret Mulan for a new generation. However, don’t expect any song numbers from this version. According to Good Morning America, this flick won’t be a musical. But you can still expect the main ingredients of a girl taking the role of a man to save her elderly father from joining the Chinese military. Peep the teaser above and you can mark your calendar for the movie for March 27, 2020. Next in the Disney canon is the sequel to 2014’s Maleficent entitled Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. According to Variety , the sequel picks up several years after the original storyline. Princess Aurora is about to get married, which doesn’t make Maleficent too happy. In the midst of all this, the formerly cursed princess faces new threats as she becomes next in line to become Queen of the Moors. New alliances develop in the struggle to protect the magical realm and the creatures that live there. Check out the drama-filled trailer for the flick hitting theaters October 18 above. Finally, if you’re looking for less fantasy and more real-life transformations, have no fear, the Fab Five is near. Season 4 of Queer Eye has already arrived and the new clients range from orchestra teachers to typical family guys. There will be looks, there will be laughter and, of course, there will be tears. Check out the trailer above and tune into Netflix when it hits July 19.

Source: AFP Contributor / Getty I have a feeling that Disney and Nike are doing everything in their power to piss off racist people and I’m all for it. If you don’t know Disney announced that Halle Bailey will be playing Ariel in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid and that announcement sparked outrage online from some people who felt like Ariel shouldn’t be black. Those folks quickly started posting under the hashtag #NotMyAriel to voice their disdain on the decision. A lot of other great people on Twitter took to stick up for Halle against people who can’t see progress. One user named Lea Toft tweeted, “As a danish person, I have some bad news for all the people who’s angry, that a black woman is playing Ariel. Danish people don’t have fins either, nor do we live underwater – we can, and do, however have different ethnicities” As a danish person, I have some bad news for all the people who’s angry, that a black woman is playing Ariel. Danish people don’t have fins either, nor do we live underwater – we can, and do, however have different ethnicities #notmyariel — Lea Toft (@MuffinFanatic) July 5, 2019 Oh, burn. Now Disney has made a statement in the matter in a witty post about their pick of Halle, dedicated to the poor unfortunate souls who don’t like Halle. “Yes. The original author of The Little Mermaid was Danish. Ariel … is a mermaid. She lives in an underwater kingdom in international waters and can legit swim wherever she wants (even though that often upsets King Triton, absolute zaddy),” Freeform’s post read. “But for the sake of argument, let’s say that Ariel, too, is Danish.” “Danish mermaids can be black because Danish *people* can be black. Ariel can sneak up to the surface at any time with her pals Scuttle and the *ahem* Jamaican crab Sebastian (sorry, Flounder!) and keep that bronze base tight,” the text post continued. “Black Danish people, and this mer-folk, can also *genetically* (!!!) have red hair.” View this post on Instagram An open letter to the Poor, Unfortunate Souls: ______ #TheLittleMermaid #Ariel #MyAriel A post shared by Freeform (@freeform) on Jul 6, 2019 at 6:16pm PDT This has been a bad July for racist people as Nike also pulled a sneaker with America’s first flag because it has been used to promote white supremacy in the past after Colin Kaepernick brought that to their attention. That decision caused people to burn their Nikes once again but we think Nike and Disney will both be fine in the future. Nike becoming a brand that routinely upsets racists makes me think they’ll be just fine — Kazeem Famuyide (@RealLifeKaz) July 2, 2019 As for The Little Mermaid, this movie is shaping up to look just like modern-day America with Rob Marshall directing, and Melissa McCarthy and Awkafina in talks for roles in this movie.

Not consuming any food for a day can help to improve cardiovascular health according to research studies. Campbell makes a true point that she isn’t starving herself, since the body goes into starvation mode after consecutive days of not eating. The Academy-award nominated director announced on Instagram that he will be wrapping the FOX series up with a “movie of the week.” “We’re going to make something real special for you to scream about with all of our cast members — even the dead ones.” He teased that the finale movie will be a “two hour GAG!” Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news. ( Terms and conditions ). Daniels promised that the original cast would be returning for the TV flick including Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady, Jude Demorest, Queen Latifah, Brandy, Amiyah Scott and Quincy Brown. After premiering back in December of 2016, Star lasted three seasons. The ratings were satisfactory during its time, but ratings dropped 11 percent during the third season. After it was decided by network execs that Empire would be prioritized because it was going into its last season, Star was axed from the lineup. “We looked at our priorities and were trying to prioritize giving Empire the send-off it deserves,” FOX Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier told Deadline . “The move [of Empire ] to 9 p.m, made it a challenge because Star was always the lead-out from Empire and obviously we don’t have the 10 p.m hour, so it was another tough choice in a year where we were prioritizing Empire and obviously some of the other shows that we’ve put on the schedule.” After its cancellation, Daniels pitched Star to Amazon, BET and OWN but he was unsuccessful. E lijah Al-Amin was a 17-year-old who was fatally stabbed by 27-year-old Michael Paul Adams. The child was killed all because he was listening to hip hop music. Now, the attorney for Adams is using the excuse that he was “disabled.” See Also: Outrageous! Figurines Of White Cherub Crushing Head Of Black Angel Removed From Dollar Store His attorney Jacie Cotterell told Good Evening Arizona , “This is a disabled person and he’s been released into the world and left to fend for himself, two days later — this is where we are.” She claims the department of corrections failed “Elijah with no resources or psychiatric help even though he had a past of severe mental illness.” However, being disabled or mentally ill does not make you a white supremacist. Court records say that Adams admitted he killed the 17-year-old because rap music made him feel “unsafe” and he was being “proactive, not reactive” but killing the chid. He believed rap was a threat to himself and his community. On Thursday, July 4, Al-Amin got off work from Subway around 11:30 p.m. and visited his girlfriend. While at a a gas station in Peoria, Arizona, he was stabbed by Adams around 1:45 a.m. He was about to turn 18 in less than two weeks Elijah’s father told KVOU, “2 o’clock came, 3 o’clock came, 4 o’clock came, I kept calling, calling, calling, texting, texting, texting, and I wasn’t getting a response. I just had a feeling that something wasn’t right.” He continued, “ You took a helluva kid… He was a good kid, very good kid, always willing to help kids, help people in general.” Michael Adams was booked on a first-degree murder charge. Watch his father below: The mentally ill excuse for white people who kill Black people is an ongoing theme. In July of 2018, 18-year-old Nia Wilson was killed by James Cowell. Shortly after the tragedy, his family released a statement with the “mentally ill” excuse. The statement read in part, “John has been suffering from mental illness most of his life. He has been in & out of Jail & has not had the proper treatment.” As of April , Cowell’s criminal case has been suspended to evaluate his mental competency. We hope Elijah Al-Amin gets justice. Source: Starz / Power A ugust 25, we will be singing “they say it’s a big rich town” for the final season. Starz’s hit original series, Power returns for its sixth and final season. Yesterday (July 6) the network unveiled the trailer for the show, and it basically proves one thing, Ghost (Omari Hardwick) can’t trust a single soul in his shaky circle, not even his own damn son. It’s the final battle between brothers. The #FinalBetrayal begins August 25 on @STARZ . pic.twitter.com/11DlAiT29M — Power (@Power_STARZ) July 6, 2019 All James St. Patrick wants to do is be a legitimate businessman, honor his deceased daughter by getting the Queens Child Project erected and be a loving father to his stubborn ass son Tariq. BUT, of course, that will prove to be difficult thanks in large part to his brother in crime, Tommy (Joseph Sikora) — now trying to cancel Christmas on him… AGAIN — to be the biggest dope dealer in NYC with the help of his boo Keisha (La La Anthony) who has a bone to with her best friend Tasha (Natura Naughton). It also doesn’t help that Riq is out here looking like a watered down version of his dad by getting into the drug game while at the same time partnering up with those who want to see the patriarch of the St. Patrick family six feet under. We can’t forget that Dre (Rotimi) is still running the streets, and the Feds led by Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) are still hot on his tail and want to see the former drug kingpin in jail. The 2:08 trailer confirms the return of Angela Valdez (Lela Loren) who was shot by Tommy in season 5’s “cliffhanger” season finale . Despite viewers thinking it was the end of Ghost’s legendary side chick, showrunner Courtney A.Kemp confirmed immediately that she would be returning for the final season so her presence in the trailer should come as no surprise to anyone. So buckle up, it looks like we are in for a wild ride, season 6 will be bringing the twists and turns and somehow manage to spread it out through 15 episodes. Step into the trailer for Power’s final season below and keep it locked here for full recaps.
