UFC 115: Liddell Confident Against Franklin

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight king Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell vowed to come down hard on Rich “The Ace” Franklin in his first fight since his 14-month lay off from mixed martial arts. Liddel said he’s very much in shape, probably the best in his career. This, he said, spells trouble for Franklin, a former UFC champion himself. “I think I’m in the best shape I’ve been for a long time,” said The Iceman in a UFC promotional video. “He better be ready for me, I’m coming hard.” The former UFC champions will exchange blows at the ufc 115 live stream at the General Motors Place in the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Saturday. Liddell hasn’t fought since his technical knockout (TKO) loss to Mauricio Rua in UFC 97 in April 2009. But his stint in “Dancing with the Stars” has helped keep him in shape before training camp for UFC 115. The Iceman said he will use his “ever reliable” right hand, which he used to topple some of the best fighters in the Octagon such as Randy “The Natural” Couture and Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort. He said it will be a perfect foil for a left hander like Franklin. “I’ll always go back to the big right hand, especially with a south paw, there’s a lot of opportunities to do him with a right hand,” said Liddell, who has 21 wins against 7 losses. Franklin, meanwhile, is coming from a lay-off himself. The Ace, a former UFC middleweight champion, had spent some down time from MMA after undergoing hernia surgery. He claimed he wasn’t worried about what Liddell can do to him. “I’m not concerned about Chuck, I’m not worried about what Chuck has been doing, I gotta worry about what I’m doing,” said Franklin. The Ace said he will probably take advantage of the “weakness” in Liddell’s fighting stance with a lot of low kicks. “Chuck’s fighting stance is really a lot wider, especially on that front leg. We’re emphasizing the times that I can take advantage of that. We’re going to do a lot of inside movement, using jabs and feints to set up inside kicks,“ said Franklin, who has compiled a record of 27 victories, 5 defeats and 1 no contest (NC). UFC commentator Joe Rogan said the Liddell-Franklin fight will be a very interesting match up between a devastating puncher and technical stand-up fighter. “Chuck Liddell is one of the greatest knockout artist in the history of the sport. He has devastating power in his hands, his knees and his kicks… Rich Dranklin is the type of guy that’s gonna formula a really good game plan for a specific opponent. Sinkhole in Guatemala 2010

Guatemala, a country in Central America boarded by Mexico to the north and west and rich in bilogically significant and unique ecosystems is currently affected by the Tropical Storm Agatha which kills atleast 142 people and left thousand of families homeless officials said. During the wake of the Tropical Storm Agatha, a giant sinkhole opened last Sunday. The size of the opening is larger than a street intersection and even swallowed a three-storey building and a house. It was reported that a security guard died during the incident though officials haven’t confirmed yet. While it happened, people outside the capital, searched for their loved ones even on the strike of the typhoon. Emergency workers and rescuers encouraged the survivors to stay in the shelters provided for them. Agatha, the first-named storm during the Pacific hurricane season 2010 hit Guatemala on Saturday hitting the place with heavy rains. According to the government, at least 123 people died in Guatemala and 59 others are missing. The government already ferries tents and medical supplies to affected families. Latest Update on Pakistan Bombing

Two attackers on Motorbikes fired the entrance of Baitul Noor of worship in the Model Town region which resulted to at least 20 people were killed. Actually, the strikes took place at two mosque in Lahore which belong to Ahmadi religious group according to police and rescue officials. According to the officials, one of the attackers was critically injured and the other was detained. The bombings targeted houses of worships which resulted approximately 70 people killed and now its still growing.. One of the witnesses told CNN that the two attackers were armed with AK-47s and another witness saw atleast 4 gunmen. Three heads of the suicide bombers were discovered in the crime scene according to Sajjad Bhutta, a senior official. At least five people were retrieved in the other location, Garhi Shahu. Ahmadis which is a religious movement founded in 1889 which has believed that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was a prophet sent by God. Ahmadis considered themselves as Muslim. But the Pakistani government disclaimed that they aren’t Muslims. Because the followers don’t believe Mohammed, the phrophet if Muslims as their prophet. 2-year-old Kid addicted to Smoking

A kid named Ardi Rizal from Musi Banyuasin, Indonesia is a chain smoker at the age of two. The kid was given a cigarette when he was 18 months old by his father Mohammed. The kid is obviously gets addicted to smoking because he can consume 40 cigarettes a day. And if not given smoke, he gets angry and screams and hit his head against the wall. If the child can’t smoke, he feels dizzy and sick according to his Mom, Diana. It costs the Family £3.78 in Musi Banyuasin, Indonesia for a particular brand for the child to smoke. But Mohammed the father of the child at the same time a fishmonger said, that the child is pretty healthy for him so he doesn’t see it as a problem. The officials of the said place has offered the family a car if the child quits. Ford Optimistic on Auto-Industry Sales

Ford Motor Co.’s sales analyst on Friday said the U.S. auto industry will continue its current pace and finish May on track for an annual sales rate of slightly more than 11 million new cars and trucks. April sales finished at an annual rate of 11.2 million vehicles, and industry analyst Edmunds.com has forecast a May rate of 11.4 million. The market will continue its modest recovery in the U.S., Ford’s George Pipas said. Mr. Pipas said he has yet to see any economic movements that would cause an unexpected sales jump. “May is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get month,” Mr. Pipas said. “This is where the consumer is.” He also said auto makers continue to hold off on incentives as they focus on profitability rather than quickly increasing market share. Much like what you can expect at the UFC 114 live stream this weekend. The forecast came on the same day that Ford Chief Executive Alan Mulally sidestepped questions about the auto maker’s plans to kill its slumping Mercury brand. “We have nothing new to add today,” Mr. Mulally said during a meeting with analysts earlier Friday. Mr. Pipas also declined to comment in a meeting with reporters in Detroit. Mr. Mulally and his executives are preparing to ask the auto maker’s board in July to drop the Mercury brand, according to a person familiar with the discussions. Mr. Mulally reportedly has the backing of key Ford family members . Ford executives have publicly supported the brand since 2006, when Mr. Mulally joined the auto maker. Mercury, executives had said, was a brand that appealed to women. Behind the scenes, however, the brand received few new models. Many dealers also support bringing Mercury to an end. Separately, Ford said it continues to work on consolidating its dealer network. Mr. Mulally hasn’t disclosed the target size other than saying his goal is to maker dealers more profitable overall. The focus continues to be on closing some of the weaker dealers in cities where there is a shrinking consumer base. The auto maker had 3,553 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealers at the end of 2009. General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC irked dealers last year during their bankruptcies when they presented plans to consolidate their networks. Chrysler cut new-vehicle deliveries to 789 dealerships. About 150 are fighting the move in arbitration hearings.
