Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Legal Team Preparing $1.5M Bail Package

The troubled rapper’s attorney says their side is putting together a seven-figure bail package that will give 69 homebound freedom until his trial. TMZ reports : The rapper’s lawyer, Lance Lazarro, tells TMZ … he’s putting a bail package together for the rapper in hopes of getting him sprung from the federal prison facility where he’s being held, so he can enjoy some freedom until his trial begins in September. We’re told the plan is to ask the court to set 69’s bail at $1.5 million, and Lazarro will also make the case that Tekashi’s not a danger to the community … nor is he a flight risk. 6ix9ine’s lawyer says he wants to file the motion before his next scheduled court appearance in late January. If the judge rules in his favor and grants bail, the rapper can await trial from the comfort of his own home once he posts the $1.5 mil. Lazzaro has been on record saying that the artist born Daniel Hernandez will not accept a plea deal and intends to take the racketeering case to trial. — Photo: getty

Art Project To Highlight Black History And Culture In Los Angeles

A new art project on the West Coast will visually capture the essence of Black history and culture in Los Angeles. Local political officials recently announced that 1.3 miles of Crenshaw Boulevard will be transformed into an artistic space that highlights how African Americans are embedded in the fabric of L.A., the LAist reported. It will feature larger-than-life murals, monuments, outdoor spaces and other elements that will bring stories about the Black experience in Los Angeles to life. Local political leaders believed that it was important to bring the achievements of the Black community in L.A. to the forefront. The city has evolved into a melting pot and they don’t want the contributions of African Americans to be forgotten. “The hope is that [people] understand that L.A., among other things, is quintessentially a Black city,” Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson told the news outlet. “In the same way that it’s a Latino city, in the same way it’s a Jewish city, in the same way that it’s a Japanese city. The stories of black people in this town are central to what this town is, and what it continues to develop into.” Harris-Dawson wanted to find a way to preserve the street art that already exists in Crenshaw, but add more elements to it so that it can serve as a learning tool for visitors and future generations. He also hopes that the buzz surrounding Destination Crenshaw will create an increase in more locally-owned innovative businesses in the area. The renderings for the project—which has been backed by Los Angeles natives Nipsey Hussle and Issa Rae —were revealed this month. The Destination Crenshaw team has already enlisted the help of local artists to contribute their work. The project will break ground in 2019 and is slated to be completed in 2020. African-American Cannabis Advocate Gets Historic Times Square Billboard For New Year’s Eve

Email Submit His sister, Chandra, was the mother to his three nieces he said he’ll take on daddy duties with now. The news comes just a few years after the girls dad, his brother, was killed. Alsina is heartbroken not only for his loss, but for nieces who’ve now lost both parents.   “Chandra… @_chachacha My Sister, My friend, life giver to my nieces, my hair magician, my biggest supporter, my number one fan,” wrote the “Wait” performer. “We lost such a beautiful soul on Christmas Night To the battle with cancer. I am Utterly devastated & Deeply shattered! Not only for myself, but for my 3 little nieces, whom are now robbed of BOTH parents,” he wrote in a dedication video to his sister.   (click HERE to watch) “First they killed Mel, Now Cancer has stolen you,” he continues. “What is life? Proud Papa: Drake Shares Photo of Painting By His Son Adonis On Instagram

It was a painting from his no longer secret child Adonis that had the 6 God gushing over his seed on the gram. “Adonis > Picasso don’t @ me.” Those are words only a proud father would say when receiving such a gift. Drizzy took a break from posting thirst traps on his gram with the photo of the painting from his son. The framed masterpiece is a colorful mesh of Adonis’ handprints. While it’s not a photo of his son, it’s still a welcomed break from all the social media madness involving the “In My Feelings” rapper. Not too long ago Kanye West was on the attack reigniting his “beef” with Drizzy on Twitter which even had Kim Kardashian accusing Drake of threatening her family. To everyone’s surprise his girlfriend received a brand new SUV. As spotted on  Complex the “Fefe” rapper gifted his lady friend Jade a 2019 Mercedes-AMG G65. Naturally she took to social media to flaunt. “LIL BITCH IN A BIG BODY AINT NO CAR PAYMENTS PERIOD EARLY XMAS GIFT I LOVE U SO MUCH BABY  @6ix9ine   IM SO HAPPY YALL ” she posted on her Instagram. She followed up the initial reveal with a second photo of a full view of the luxury vehicle as the trolls doubted the model of the car. Unfortunately his generosity will have no bearing on his current legal situation. Back in November the Brooklyn native was arrested on federal criminal charges including racketeering, assault and firearms. He faces life in prison if convicted. Prior to being picked up by the boys the controversial artist cut all ties to his former crew. His lawyer Lance Lazarro has denied the validity of all the charges saying “Daniel Hernandez is completely innocent of all charges being brought against him. [He’s] an entertainer who portrays a ‘gangster image’ to promote his music does not make him a member of an enterprise.” His trial has been set for September 2019. — Photo: Johnny Nunez

Drake Announces Popcaan As Newest Addition To OVO Sound [Video]

As spotted on Complex Champagne Papi came out at the Unruly Fest in Jamaica as a surprise guest. On top of performing a short set of his songs he also made a very timely announcement. He went on to say that Popcaan is now an OVO Sound artist. “This is something we’ve worked on for a very long time,” he said. “I just want to let everybody know, finally. Officially, 2019 Popcaan is signed to OVO.” Naturally the crowd erupted over the news. They then shared the stage as pictures of the two scrolled on the stage. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar slammed NFL owners in a recent episode of his HBO show The Shop, and the sharing of a questionable 21 Savage lyric had him later apologizing for the act. Deadline reports : Speaking with business partner Maverick Carter Friday on his HBO Sports series The Shop, with guest stars Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams and rapper/actor Ice Cube, the Los Angeles Lakers forward called NFL owners “old white men” who, he said, acted like slave masters. “In the NFL they got a bunch of old white men owning teams and they got that slave mentality,” James said in the conversation. “And it’s like, ‘This is my team. You do what the f— I tell y’all to do. Or we get rid of y’all.’” James then said it was the players who made the league, not the league making the players. “The players are who make the ship go,” James said. “Every Sunday, without Todd Gurley and without Odell Beckham Jr., without those players, those guys, there is no football. And it’s the same in the NBA.” Sports Business writer Darren Rovell shared a tweet out of LeBron James rapping the lyrics of 21 Savage’s “ASMR” track, which prompted a flurry of chatter criticizing James for doing so although there were some who didn’t think he was taking the anti-Semitism route. However, James told ESPN that he truly didn’t mean to offend anyone by sharing out the song. “Apologies, for sure, if I offended anyone,” James said to ESPN after his squad lost 107-99 to the Memphis Grizzlies. “That’s not why I chose to share that lyric. I always [post lyrics]. That’s what I do. I ride in my car, I listen to great music, and that was the byproduct of it. So I actually thought it was a compliment, and obviously, it wasn’t through the lens of a lot of people. My apologies. It definitely was not the intent, obviously, to hurt anybody.” Surprised LeBron, who makes very few mistakes, put this out.
