Victoria Justice Is A Pretty Little Thing

Victoria Justice attended the 2012 Creative Arts Emmy Awards the other night proving that she is the hottest young piece in Hollywood. Trust me when I tell you that we’re looking at a future Academy Award winner right here. To be honest, I’ve never seen her act, but she plays the part of a very hot chick better than anyone out there.

Star Trek 2 Gets A Title: Where Does It Rank In The Franchise?

What’s in a name? J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot sequel finally has one (per Deadline ) and despite my deepest, nerdiest hopes that early reports were on some crazy tip it’s been confirmed so I guess we’re stuck with it. I hope you’re ready for — drumroll please… Star Trek Into Darkness . Star Trek into what now !? I’m sure it was tough to come up with a naming convention that deviated from the original Trek movies’ Roman numeral + subtitle formula, or the TNG -era Trek s’ annoying penchant for terribly vague one-word descriptors (“Nemesis”? “Generations”?). At least those made more sense once you saw the movie. But Star Trek Into Darkness ? For starters, it sounds like Step Into Liquid and Step Up 2 The Streets , which makes me think Chris Pine and Co. are headed for a dance-off with outer space surfers to the music of a British glam rock band. On top of that, dropping the colon forces us to comprehend “Trek” as both a noun and a verb, which makes my brain hurt. Who wants to go Star Trekkin’ with J.J. Abrams? [*Commenter Elijah Sarkesian is right: Maybe someone just forgot the colon. If that’s the case then I forgive Abrams and will move Star Trek: Into Darkness into #10 right under Star Trek: Insurrection , because “insurrection” is at least an interesting vocabulary word.] Maybe I’m being too harsh on poor Star Trek 2 . Looking back on the Trek films, they weren’t all winners. Here’s how I’d rank the 12 franchise titles, from awesome ( KHAAAAAAAN! ) to turrible. 1. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 2. Star Trek III: The Search for Spock 3. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home 4. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier 5. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country 6. Star Trek: The Motion Picture 7. Star Trek: First Contact 8. Star Trek 9. Star Trek: Insurrection 10. Star Trek: Nemesis 11. Star Trek: Generations 12. Star Trek Into Darkness Yep. Still not working. Sound off below. Together we can get through this, guys. Star Trek 2 is in theaters May 17, 2013. [ TrekMovie.com , Deadline ]

WATCH: ‘Lincoln’ Teaser Offers First Glimpse Of Spielberg Biopic

Ahead of Thursday’s trailer premiere, Steven Spielberg and Co. have released a first-look teaser for Lincoln , starring Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th President of the United States. Get a taste of what Spielberg has in store with this somber (but stirring!) bit of footage from the film. Gettysburg Address, y’all! I like the conceit of Lincoln hearing his own inspirational words recited back to him, feeling his impact on his fellow man even in the sparest of moments in what looks to be a quiet Union encampment. Synopsis: Steven Spielberg directs two-time Academy Award® winner Daniel Day-Lewis in “Lincoln,” a revealing drama that focuses on the 16th President’s tumultuous final months in office. In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices during this critical moment will change the fate of generations to come. Lincoln hits theaters on November 9 and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, David Strathairn, Lee Pace, Jackie Earle Haley, John Hawkes, and more. TORONTO: Marion Cotillard Stirs Oscar Buzz In Rust And Bone

The Toronto International Film Festival is off and rolling. TIFF’s official opening night is Rian Johnson ‘s Looper with Joseph Gordon-Levitt , Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt… and all kudos to them, but Toronto is sharing the opening spotlight with Walter Salles’ On The Road , a “surprise” event for Dredd , Rust & Bone — starring Gordon-Levitt’s The Dark Knight Rises co-star Marion Cotillard — and others. As TIFFers arrived in town, the tradition of a slow opening night ended. It was full tilt as events, traffic, schmoozing and gossip about what movie is good, what is less so, was well underway. One prognosticator even had the Best Female Actress Oscar noms already lined up (at least in his mind) — and one is Rust and Bone ‘s Cotillard, pictured here with Sony Pictures Classics co-president Tom Bernard Thursday evening at a dinner hosted by Moet & Chandon Champagne at Michael’s in downtown Toronto. Of course no stranger to Oscar, the French actress won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2007 for La vie en rose . She turns out another stunning performance in Rust & Bone , by French director Jacques Audiard, in which she plays a beautiful — naturally — woman who meets a club bouncer played by Bullhead actor Matthias Schoenaerts. Their chance meeting turns into a stronger bond that takes flight after an accident. “I was very excited after reading the script,” Cotillard said about her role playing Stephanie in Cannes in May . “When a script moves me, I find that I immediately understand a character. Of course not completely, but I do understand.” Read more from the Toronto Film Festival. Follow Brian Brooks on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .

Justin Bieber Sued for Unsafe Decibel Levels in Concert

This is so not the week to be Justin Bieber. Days after the singer was cited for excessive speeding and chased by the paparazzi , he’s been hit with a lawsuit by a former concert goer named Stacey Wilson Betts – and you won’t believe the reason why. Betts is suing the adorable teen for $9.2 million because she attended a show in July 2010 and claims to have suffered severe tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and hyperacusis (oversensitivity to sound) in both ears as a result. Based on court documents obtained by E! News, Betts says she was injured due to “an unforeseen aspect of the show,” specifically a sound blast that “exceeded safe decibel levels.” “[Bieber] climbed into a heart shaped, aluminum/steel gondola and was pulled out over the crowd,” creating a “wave like effect of screaming” that “enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion,” the lawsuit reads. Betts concludes that her pain is a results of “the negligence of Justin Bieber.” She is also suing Island Def Jam Records, the arena in which the concert was held and the promoter.

The Impossible: Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor In Terrifying Promos for Tsunami Pic

File under “Too Soon,” perhaps: Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor star in The Impossible as a couple on holiday with their two young children in Thailand when the 2004 tsunami tragedy sweeps the region, leaving hundreds of thousands dead in 14 countries. Directed by Juan Antonio Bayona ( The Orphanage ), the disaster drama is based on one family’s experience and makes use of realistic CG and sets to recreate the event. And judging from the newly unveiled (and kind of terrifying) Spanish teaser poster, expect an intense treatment of the tragedy as seen through the eyes of the victims on the ground. Bayona posted the Watts teaser poster (Spanish title: Lo Imposible ) via Twitter ; it’s scheduled for release in Spain this October, although a U.S. release date has not been set. Meanwhile, Spanish site Fotogramas shares two additional promo images/posters: A previously released Spanish-language trailer depicted Watts and McGregor’s happy family vacay interrupted by the catastrophic event, a tidal wave crashing through their seaside resort, hurtling Watts through the glass window pane of a botanical garden-looking structure. The effects are reminiscent of those used in Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter to depict the same event, sequences which earned his VFX team an Academy Award nomination. [via @FilmBayona , Fotogramas ]
