Josh Hutcherson turns 19 today. And it may be the final birthday this actor celebrates before he makes the leap to A-list status. The young star, previously best known for briefly dating Vanessa Hudgens , has been cast as Peeta in The Hunger Games , a role that is sure to bring him a legion of rabid fans. Most of the female persuasion. Hutcherson has also appeared in The Kids Are All Right and Journey to the Center of the Earth . Now, in equally breaking news regarding this couple, Twilight Saga star Chaske Spencer (werewolf Sam Uley) tells Us Weekly that both halves of Robsten are “very, very down to earth .” Breaking Dawn Movie Trailer What about Taylor Lautner, with whom Spencer shares many scenes? That six-packed stud “is going to make a great action star,” the actor said, adding: “When we first met, I thought, ‘He’s going to be the next Tom Cruise.’ He’s got that edge to him. Darren Aronosfky’s Noah Fast-Tracked to Shoot Next Spring

Seems the folks at Paramount and New Regency are itching to help Darren Aronofsky build his ark; as Deadline reports, the two have finally sealed the deal to partner on the $100+ million Biblical epic Noah . Also: It’s being fast-tracked to begin production as early as next spring, which means it’s about time Aronofsky gets to casting this sucker. Can we just take a vote for Christian Bale as Noah and call it a day? [ Deadline ]

Thomas Jane: I Was a Male Prostitute!

File this under Admissions We Did Not See Coming: In an interview with The Los Angeles Times , Thomas Jane says he was once homeless and earned money as a man-on-man prostitute. “When I was a kid out here in L.A., I was homeless. I didn’t have any money and I was living in my car,” the actor says . “I wasn’t averse to going down to Santa Monica Boulevard and letting a guy buy me a sandwich. Know what I mean?” The Hung star, who been married twice, adds that “you’re a lot more open to experimentation as a young man. And for me, being a young artist and broke in Los Angeles, I was exploring my sexual identity.” Does he have any regrets? About That Time James Franco Almost Died in an Ape’s Arms

Spoiler alert : James Franco’s character wasn’t always supposed to survive the Rise of the Planet of the Apes chaos. According to an early script , Franco’s Will Rodman was supposed to die in the arms of his primate pal Caesar after being hit with a bullet during the dramatic forest showdown. At the last minute, the filmmakers decided to change the ending and flew the actor cross-country to film an alternative goodbye scene with Caesar (Andy Serkis). The casualty-free climax made the final cut, Rise of the Planet of the Apes grossed over $400 million worldwide and Will Rodman lives to film a potential sequel. [ THR ]

Saying he and the wife from who he’s separated are in “the friend zone,” Arquette confirmed rumors during the chat that he’s dating Christina McLarty, a reporter for Entertainment Tonight and the quasi ex-wife of Joe Francis . “She’s adorable,” he told Stern. “I’m not one to run around with different girls. After new photos (see above and below) were released of Ashton seen in the company of a young blonde who either is or resembles alleged jumpoff Sara Leal, Ashton tweeted the following: Yeah yeah yeah… Gotta love those generic non specific denials. Which part did we assume incorrectly Ashton? That you and your wife are on the outs? Or that you chopped down that lil blonde homewrecker? Oh… and the blonde in these photos that may or may not be Sara Leal was photographed with Ashton June 1st. On a different night out without the wife. SMH! Pacific Coast News
