Charlie Sheen Gives Ashton Kutcher ‘Advice’ At The Emmys

‘Make us proud!’ actor tweets to his ‘Two and a Half Men’ replacement after backstage meeting. By Eric Ditzian Charlie Sheen and Ashton Kutcher backstage at the Emmy Awards Photo: Charlie Sheen The Charlie Sheen image-rehabilitation tour continues. Days after the former “Two and a Half Men” star began making the media rounds, confessing on the “Tonight Show” that he should have been fired and on the “Today” show that maybe pretending tiger blood coursed through his veins wasn’t such a good idea, Sheen popped over to the Emmy Awards on Sunday. Before presenting the lead actor award, Sheen, a four-time Emmy nominee during his run on “Men,” sauntered out onto the stage and told everyone at his old show, “From the bottom of my heart, I wish nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together, and I know you will continue to make great television.” As if this latest version of Charlie Sheen couldn’t get any stranger (or warm-and-fuzzier), the actor then tweeted a series of backstage pics with his “Two and a Half Men” replacement, Ashton Kutcher. “Giving the new kid a little advice!” Sheen tweeted , attempting a bit of elder statesman bonhomie, before adding some straightforward sincerity. “[G]reat talking to you! We’ll all be watching! Make us proud!” The flurry of apologies and normal-guy behavior comes ahead of the Monday-night premieres of Sheen’s Comedy Central Roast and the new “Two and a Half Men.” On Sunday night at the Emmys, Kutcher shared the stage with his new co-star, Jon Cryer, to whom he confessed, “I am not Charlie Sheen. Jon, I want to tell you something. I do not think that you are a troll.” Perhaps somewhere backstage, if not on Twitter, Sheen was able to apologize to Cryer for that troll comment a few months back. And if it didn’t happen on Sunday, it probably will in the future, for the Charlie Sheen rehabilitation tour shows no sign of slowing down, despite the lack of Adonis DNA onboard. Brad Pitt Relates To ‘David Vs. Goliath’ Story In ‘Moneyball’

‘I certainly feel injustice,’ he tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill in “Moneyball” Photo: Columbia Pictures You’d think it’s been a while since Brad Pitt felt anything like an underdog, since those days in the late ’80s when he was pumped just to get a few lines in a TV show like “21 Jump Street” or had to console himself with work as an extra next to then-hot shots like Andrew McCarthy and Jami Gertz. These days, he’s Brad Pitt: Oscar nominee, beloved of Angelina Jolie and … freaking Brad Pitt. But as the actor admitted to MTV News at the Toronto International Film Festival, there are still times when he feels like the world is against him, when he finds himself in a similar situation to the 2002 Oakland Athletics, the small-market Major League Baseball club at the center of his new movie, “Moneyball.” “I certainly feel injustice,” he said. “I’m no foreigner to that, whether it’s real or perceived.” Unjust is certainly the situation the A’s find themselves in the film, which is based on the best-selling nonfiction title by Michael Lewis and which hits theaters September 23. The team had a vastly smaller payroll than other teams but nonetheless was able to rise to the top when general manager Billy Beane (Pitt) employed a newfangled, statistics-based approach to building his roster of players. “These are guys that are working in an unfair game,” Pitt explained. “They are a team with no money trying to fight — it’s David vs. Goliath. How are they going to be competitive? How are they going to stand a chance? They can’t fight the other guys’ fight; they’re going to lose every time. These guys had to rethink it and rethink what they were doing. “They’re Galileo, in a sense, going up against an institution that is not going to be very happy about them questioning their norms,” he added. Shia LaBeouf Feels ‘Vindication’ After ‘Transformers 3’ Success

‘I feel vindicated for having guilt on my shoulders for the second movie,’ he tells MTV News of blockbuster ‘Dark of the Moon.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Shia LaBeouf at the New York premiere of “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon” on June 28, 2011 Photo: Jamie McCarthy/ WireImage In the run up to the release of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” Shia LaBeouf was adamant about two things: the second chapter of his alien robot franchise honestly wasn’t very good at all and the newest sequel would blow everyone away. “It is the best movie we’ve made, I’m serious,” LaBeouf told MTV News in June. “It’s not a joke. I’m dead honest, man. I get myself in trouble all the time, but this is our best installment.” He’s probably right. “Dark of the Moon” is the top-grossing film in the series ($1.1 billion) and received an “A” CinemaScore from audiences, according to Paramount. Having announced that the third “Transformers” film will be his last, LaBeouf recently told us that he’s leaving the franchise on a high note. “For me, I feel vindicated for having guilt on my shoulders for the second movie,” he said. “There is vindication in this one being successful and people enjoying it.” Since finishing up the international press tour for “Dark of the Moon,” LaBeouf has been collaborating on a music video with Marilyn Manson and doing postproduction work on John Hillcoat’s “The Wettest County in the World,” a drama about Prohibition-era bootleggers. “That’s probably the biggest, coolest opportunity I’ve been allotted so far,” LaBeouf said of Hillcoat’s follow-up to “The Road.” “It’s the most colorful character I’ve been able to play, the most depth I’ve been able to show as an actor.” At the same time, the actor has been prepping for work on “The Company You Keep,” a political thriller that Robert Redford will direct and star in. “I’ve been in Redford’s office doing read-throughs,” LaBeouf said. “He’s very efficient with his time. He’s a master at juggling his time and his attention span. When his attention span is focused in your direction, he’s laser-beam focused. He knows exactly what he wants. He’s very specific. He’s hilarious and fun and vibrant and everything you’d want in a director. I’m very excited to see a man direct himself. I’ve never seen that happen on a set. I know how intense and tough that’s going to be. I’m showing up more as an audience member.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
