Teen Buys $1000 In Groceries For $6 Using Coupons & Donates Food To Charity In the spirit of the holiday season, a 16-year-old British boy is doing his part to ensure that less-fortunate families have food on their tables this Christmas. via Fox News A British teenager collected hundreds of coupons to purchase nearly $1,000 worth of groceries for about $6 and gave the food to a charity. According to The Telegraph, Jordon Cox, 16, scoured websites and magazines, gathering 470 supermarket coupons. Cox purchased the groceries and then donated them to Doorstep, a charity that gives food to disadvantaged families. “I read an article that said a thousandth of the UK population are unable to eat this Christmas because they don’t have any money,” he told The Telegraph. “I decided I wanted to help as many people as I can, and to also show that it’s possible to shop very cheaply, if you know how.” Cox’s grocery store checkout took an hour and included unpacking 200 packets of biscuits and 60 packs of butter from his shopping cart. The teen began collecting coupons last year after his parents split up and his mother struggled to buy groceries with her small salary, The Telegraph reported. Cox estimated that he has saved more than $3,200 this year and has hundreds of groceries stocked in their home. But can the ratings juggernaut even go on without its central character, the man who presides over the family and leads the dinner time prayers? And will fewer people watch Duck Dynasty online or on TV, and buy less show merchandise, given Phil Robertson’s remarks about gays and gay sex? “All shows run their course,” said an insider close to the production. “This still has at least another season or two in it. Granted, the overall feeling of uninhibited love that this country has had for the show and brand will likely start to turn a bit.” Since Duck Dynasty boasts such a big cast, losing a cast member won’t prevent them from moving ahead with the popular series, even if the focus shifts. The creative and marketing teams still face major problems , however, as Phil is ultimately the leader of the family and the source of many “words of wisdom.” He is also the founder of the multi-million dollar Duck Commander business that the show prominently features, and thus his absence likely going to hurt. Paul’s dad, his 15-year-old daughter Meadow, Paul’s brother and others were there celebrating Paul’s life by enjoying a beautiful SoCal day — playing football on the sand and hanging out. Tyrese — who co-starred with Walker in the “Fast & Furious” franchise — was also present. A bunch of people wore Viking hats — not sure of the significance. Santa Barbara was an appropriate place for the memorial. Paul made Santa Barbara home — he wasn’t really a Hollywood guy. R.I.P. WENN
