Get Well: Tracy Morgan Rushed To Utah Hospital After Falling Unconscious At Sundance, Rep Says Altitude — Not Alcohol — Is To Blame

There’s nothing funny about this one. Tracy Morgan was being honored at a Sundance Film Festival event yesterday when sources say he was acting extremely intoxicated. The comedian ended up FALLING OUT after the event, but his rep says he had nothing to drink and blames it on the altitude. According to TMZ reports : Tracy Morgan was rushed to a hospital at the Sundance Film Festival — after the actor fell unconscious at an award ceremony … TMZ has learned. Tracy was being honored at the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards in Park City, Utah — and sources tell TMZ, he appeared extremely intoxicated during his award acceptance speech. We’re told Tracy was escorted out of the building soon after his speech — and fell unconscious outside the building. Law enforcement sources tell us, an ambulance was then dispatched to Tracy’s location. We’re told Tracy was picked up and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Amy Roberts, a spokeswoman for Park City Medical Center, tells TMZ no drugs or alcohol were found in Tracy’s system upon medical evaluation. Morgan’s rep, Lewis Kay, also released a statement saying, “From a combination of exhaustion and altitude, Tracy is seeking medical attention.” Kay adds, “He is with his fiancée and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care. Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100% false.” Tracy make sure you keep rested! It might sound crazy but altitude really can have some crazy effects on folks. More On Bossip! ‘Hobbit’ Brings ‘Impending Doom’ To Middle-Earth, Elijah Wood Says

‘There is gravity, but there’s a lot of fun as well,’ actor tells MTV News of Peter Jackson’s latest Tolkien adaptation. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Elijah Wood Photo: MTV News PARK CITY, Utah — Despite all odds, Frodo Baggins is back in the Shire … or was back, rather. Elijah Wood reprises his iconic role as the ring-bearing Frodo in “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” serving as a book-ending character in scenes that bridge the gap between director Peter Jackson’s latest trip to Middle-earth and his previous one in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Wood’s role is a less prominent one in “The Hobbit,” so much so that with 100 days left of filming, his work on the film is finished. “I had my revisitation rights, and now they’ve been revoked,” he joked when MTV News caught up with him at the Sundance Film Festival . Though Wood’s return to the realm of dwarves, elves and men has reached its conclusion, the actor spent enough time on the New Zealand set to get a real sense of what “The Hobbit” is going for. Specifically, he spoke to the fact that Jackson’s latest adaptation stays true to the lighter tone of J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel, largely because “the stakes aren’t as high” as they were in “Lord of the Rings.” “It’s more whimsical, magical, and a little bit more comedic,” Wood said. “The dwarves are funny and they’re kind of bumbling and they’re really playing a lot of that aspect up.” But even if the situation in “The Hobbit” isn’t as dangerous as the world-ending scenario posed in “Rings,” Wood said Jackson has managed to weave a sense of “impending doom … into the construct of the piece.” “There is gravity,” he insisted, “but there’s a lot of fun as well.” For his own part, Wood is just grateful that he got a chance to step back into Frodo’s furry feet one last time, an experience he likened to time travel. “It felt like stepping back into time,” he said of reprising Frodo. “We shot some stuff in Hobbiton, and the last time I was in Hobbiton, I was 19 … and I’m 30 now. It was a very bizarre step through a portal into time. But it was beautiful. It was great to be a part of it.” The 2012 Sundance Film Festival is officially under way, and the MTV Movies team is on the ground reporting on the hottest stars and the movies everyone will be talking about in the year to come. Camille Grammer: Not Returning for Season 3 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?

According to a new report, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will look a bit different on season three. Despite an all-time ratings high for this franchise on Monday night, producers are said to be axing Camille Grammer from the roster and are already on the lookout for her replacement. “Producers are asking Lisa Vanderpump, Adrienne Maloof and Kyle Richards if any of their wealthy female friends would be interested in appearing on the show,” a Bravo insider tells Radar Online. “It’s an open secret that Camille most likely won’t be back for a third season. She came off as such a bitch during season one, whereas this season she has been very reserved, and she isn’t exactly eager to return.” It’s true that executives were concerned early on during filming that Camille was so worrie d over losing custody of her children that she refrained from the customary antics of the nut jobs who appear on the show. And, yes, ratings are high (2.2 million viewers this week!), but let’s be honest. That will continue to be the case as long as estranged spouses of of the stars continue to kill themselves in between seasons.

Mark Wahlberg on 9/11 Controversy: I’m Just a Real Guy From the Streets!

Mark Wahlberg is continuing to walk back his recent comments about September 11, saying he made a mistake but attempting to put it in some context. In the latest issue of Men’s Journal , the actor said that he would have handled things differently had he been on one of the planes downed by terrorists. Wahlberg’s 9/11 comments were widely criticized and he quickly apologized. Speaking to Kidd Kraddick in the Morning on Friday, he explained it as such: “I would never disrespect the victims of 9/11 or their families. It was misunderstood. My only intention was to explain that I would do anything to protect my family – I would put myself in harms way to protect my family or innocent people.” “That was it. First and foremost, I am not speaking as an actor.” “I am a real guy from the streets and I’ve been in a lot of situations, so I was very out of line and I wasn’t thinking about the real heroes and the guys, women, children, fathers, sons, daughters who were on those flights.” This came up because Wahlberg was initially booked on one of the flights hijacked out of Boston on 9/11/01, before serendipitously moving his flight. “If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did,” he told the magazine. “There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.'” His comments greatly offended some victims of 9/11. “People are much more vigilant now than they were on 9/11,” Mary Shetchet, a spokesperson for the support group Voices Of 9/11, explained. “10 years later it easy to say you would have responded differently.”

Childish Gambino’s ‘Heartbeat’ Video Fits Song’s ‘Mood’

‘Fans should be able to check this out and just see my visualization of the song,’ ‘Community’ star-turned-rapper tells MTV News. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Ross McAlpine Childish Gambino Photo: MTV News Don’t call Childish Gambino ‘s upcoming “Heartbeat” clip a video; rather, it’s a reflection of how the actor-turned-rapper was feeling when he recorded it. “I do not really have a set of things in mind. I thought the best way to convey the feeling that’s in the song was to be confused ourselves,” Childish Gambino, a.k.a. “Community” star Donald Glover, told MTV News last week during a break from filming the clip in Van Nuys, California. “I guess when it’s all said and done, fans should be able to check this out and just see my visualization of the song.” “Heartbeat” — from CG’s debut album, Camp — is an electrified breakup song equipped with pulsating drums and buzzing synth chords. The rapper, who is better known (for now) for his role as Troy Barnes on “Community,” enlisted director Kyle Newacheck to shoot the visual. Newacheck directed an episode of the NBC comedy back in 2009. In the month leading up to his November release, Childish told MTV News that Camp was a “labor of love.” With the independently released LP, Gambino aimed to tell a story. “The biggest compliment I can give it is that I like it more than everything else I’ve done,” he said. “I think it’s a cohesive piece, and I wanted to tell a whole story with it. Hopefully, the whole album is like a book or a novel where [there’s] a through line.” “Heartbeat” is simply a chapter in that story, and its video will be reflective. “This is kinda like the mood of the song,” Gambino said. “I wouldn’t say it’s so much a video as much as it is just a mood.” What are you expecting from Childish’s “Heartbeat” video? ‘Twilight: The Musical’ Vamps In New York

Harry, Ron and Hermione make ‘Twilight’ debut in the off-Broadway parody. By Amy Wilkinson The cast of “Twilight: The Musical” Photo: Dreamcatcher Entertainment NEW YORK — When “Dreamgirls” helmer Bill Condon took over direction of “The Twilight Saga,” more than a few cheeky journalists wondered if he’d treat fans to a bloodsucking song-and-dance extravaganza. Alas, vogueing Volturi weren’t meant to be — at least on the big screen. They have, however, found a temporary home on the New York City stage in the form of ” Twilight: The Musical .” The off-Broadway parody production premiered Monday night at the New World Stages, raising money for the charity Blessings in a Backpack. Written by Ashley Griffin and directed by Gabriel Barre, “Twilight: The Musical” is, for now, staged as a concert reading, meaning that the actors hold scripts throughout the show. But the cheat sheets did little to diminish the enthusiasm of the oft-hilarious production. A group of eight actors play more than 30 roles, with some pulling quadruple and even quintuple duty (such as standouts Lauren Lopez and Jenna Leigh Green). With her bobbing ponytail, zip-up hoodie, skinny jeans and sullen expression, Meghann Fahy (“Next to Normal”) is a dead ringer for Bella Swan (or, at the very least, Kristen Stewart’s portrayal of Bella Swan), while “Wicked” actor Colin Hanlon looks perfectly pained as Edward Cullen. Jared Zirilli (“Wicked”) spends the entire second act shirtless, portraying Jacob with the kind of earnestness that’s made Taylor Lautner the object of many a teen’s fever dreams. The show opens much as the “Twilight” movie does, with Bella’s monologue about her impending death followed by the cafeteria scene and the upbeat track “Looking for Something.” (Sample lyrics: “I think I see a Fork stuck in my road,” “We’re standing on the twilight of something good.”) The first act hems closely with its source material, including all the requisite scenes: Edward’s biology class freak-out, Bella’s car accident and the bookstore gang-up. Much of the dialogue comes straight from screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s script, too, albeit with much-welcomed embellishments. (Charlie to Bella: “I know it’s awkward starting in the middle of a semester, so I got you a truck!”) But things take a canon-twisting turn about two-thirds of the way through the first act when Hermione, Ron and Harry show up. Yes, someone got “Harry Potter” in our “Twilight.” Instead of Victoria, James and Laurent, Hogwarts’ finest play the villains here. The meta levels reach 11 when the wizards mistakes Edward for Cedric Diggory. And so it is that Ron tracks Bella down in her old ballet studio and is done in by the Cullen coven, leaving Hermione to avenge the death of her beloved. The first act closes on Bella’s birthday — the surprisingly bloody scene from “New Moon.” The second act opens with a freshly shorn Jacob (his wig somehow even mangier than Lautner’s) singing with his pack. From there, the production speeds through the last three books of Meyer’s series, compressing much of the story in favor of cramming it all in. Despite the odd pacing, the production sang thanks to details only a true fanatic could relish. Edward’s sparkling-in-the-sun effect is achieved with a glittery bodysuit hidden underneath the actor’s button-down like Superman’s spandex. The iconic apple from the book’s cover hangs limply (and obviously) from a springing wire gizmo as Edward tries to suavely hand it to Bella. Not to mention the actors muster plenty of fourth-wall-breaking furtive glances, letting the audience know they are in on the joke. But the tongue-in-cheek vibe is abandoned late in the second act for a sobering bit of moralizing from Harry, who comes to Bella in a dream sequence asking if it was all worth it. “You were willing to sacrifice everything to get a boyfriend,” he says. “In the end, you destroyed yourself.” Point taken, Harry Potter. But what a buzzkill. If you weren’t able to make the one-night-only charity benefit, don’t fret: Work is being done to bring the production to the New York stage for good.

Idris Elba Feeling ‘Love’ After Golden Globe Win

‘Luther’ star talks to MTV News about upcoming ‘Pacific Rim,’ ‘Thor 2’ and ‘Avengers.’ By Kevin P. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Idris Elba Photo: MTV News Idris Elba might have been celebrating at the 2012 Golden Globes for his “Luther” win, but he has a number of high-profile projects coming up also worth cheering over. MTV News’ Josh Horowitz caught up with the British actor to get an update on Elba’s role in several of 2013’s biggest movies. Next year, Elba will star in Guillermo del Toro’s big, ambitious, monster versus robot movie “Pacific Rim.” The actor has been in Toronto filming del Toro’s first film since 2008’s “Hellboy II: The Golden Army,” and he said he can’t wait to get back. “I’m going back tomorrow morning. I’ve been there for five months,” Elba said. “I love it.
