According to multiple reports, the actress is being accused of attacking a female staffer at the Betty Ford Center in an incident on December 12. Lohan allegedly acted out when the staffer asked her to take a drug and alcohol test. “The incident involved Lindsay Lohan and another female adult who was a staff member at the location,” a police spokesman told E! News . “Lohan was reported as the suspect in the investigation and the victim desired prosecution.” Officers responded to the Betty Ford-affiliated sober house that Lohan is staying in. “The incident is being investigation as a misdemeanor, not committed in the presence of a peace officer; therefore no one was arrested at the scene,” the spokesman added. “The investigation is currently ongoing. Upon completion of the investigation reports will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office to determine if charges will be filed in the case.” Sgt. Joe Borja of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department explained to People.com that though no one was arrested in the incident, “The victim desired prosecution. The incident is being investigated as a misdemeanor.” Currently Lohan is set to be released from rehab on January 3 and has a progress hearing on February 25. Calls by MTV News to the Palm Desert police were not returned by press time. Additionally, a rep for the actress had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment by press time. After 16 years together, or at least sort of together (when he wasn’t on Rock of Love or putting it to Tish Cyrus ), Bret Michals and Kristi Gibson are engaged! Bret proposed to Kristi – where else – on the finale of Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It on VH1. Gibson is the mother of his daughters Raine, 10, and Jorja, 5. Down on one knee, the Poison frontman said, “Please say yes or the rejection will kill me right now.” Fortunately for all of us, Gibson responded positively! Bret Michaels and Kristi Gibson are making it official! Gibson and their daughters stayed by Bret Michaels’ side earlier this year when he suffered a terrifying brain hemorrhage and then a subsequent stroke. “She’s the one who put up with me all these years,” Bret, who hinted this summer that he might finally put a ring on it , told Us Magazine of Kristi. Immediately after Gibson accepted his proposal , he broke the happy news to the girls: “[I told them] ‘I did it! We’ll all be together forever! Family hug!'” Aww. How can that not make you smile? Congratulations, Bret.

Another day, another absurd story from Betty Ford. Lindsay Lohan is a suspect in a criminal battery investigation after getting into a scuffle … in rehab. The Palm Desert Police Department is investigating the altercation, which occurred after Lindsay and her roommates went out to A BAR and came back. Upon arriving at their sober house, the incident with a female staffer allegedly went down. Police were called after a ” hand-to-hand battery ” complaint. NOT MY FAULT! There’s always some excuse. [Photo: Pacific Coast News] Cops came to Betty Ford after receiving the call and interviewed both the staffer – who “desired prosecution” – and the oft-troubled star herself. It’s unclear if this was related to Lohan’s rager in rehab this month, but when police finish investigating, prosecutors will decide how to proceed. Whether they file charges is anyone’s guess, but she could be sent back to jail because she’s still technically on probation until August 2011. As for her side of the story, sources close to Lindsay Lohan claim she did NOT strike first, but she did push back in the “physical” altercation. Lindsay is telling people close to her that the drama unfolded when she arrived to the BFC on Dec. 12 roughly ten minutes after her curfew. Lindsay claims the female staff member was “unfairly” scolding her about the situation and demanded the actress take a drug/alcohol test. During the heated exchange that the woman “put her hands on Lindsay.” Lindsay claims she told the woman, “Take your hands off of me.” Then she “pushed back.” Police received a call early that morning, and the star was named as a suspect. The staffer wants LiLo prosecuted. Lindsay feels the staff member had it out for her for a while and believes the staffer may have even been “looking for a final confrontation.” It will be interesting to see this play out, but it’s as if Linds is trying to show we had her low at #8 on our Celebrity of the Year countdown.

Indeed, the former Baywatch star graces the front of her 13th issue this month, but there is something different about the January 2011 edition of the men’s magazine: it’s the first to include a poem by the actress. Along with an eight-page nude pictorial, Anderson pens the following words inside the issue: “Our best isn’t good enough – right now our eyes are far-reaching. Please let’s show the good in us… The brilliance… The wonderful… It’s abundant – it’s just not tapped as it should be.” Anderson also has a profound message for President Barack Obama: So many are with you… I can think of many positive parts of now.. She’ll play washed-up singer Kelly Canter in the upcoming “Country Strong” and gave a much-discussed live performance at the Country Music Awards last month. So might she be ready to go the way of other actress/singers and record a proper album? MTV News recently caught up with Gwyneth and asked her about that possibility as she promoted her December 22 flick. “I think if I was going to make a country record, it would be like a super-bare, kind of stripped-back kind of country,” Paltrow explained. “Like a little bit of bluegrass-influenced kind of thing.” But Paltrow said that she wouldn’t necessarily limit herself to one genre, saying she also loved singing Cee Lo’s “Forget You” on “Glee.” “I also love singing ’40s standards and stuff like that,” she added. Still, Paltrow said fans shouldn’t look for her to rap on an album after we suggested she might let Jay-Z produce her LP. The Oscar winner said she’d leave that lane to a worthy female MC. “She just has it,” Paltrow said of Nicki Minaj, MTV News’ #5 Woman of the Year . “There’s no need for another. It’s all about Nicki in my life.” Whether she decides to get in the studio remains to be seen, but Paltrow has been getting great feedback. The “Country Strong” star told us she’d heard through the grapevine that Cee Lo had enjoyed her “Glee” cover. “I have heard from Cee Lo through other people,” Paltrow said. “He was incredibly sweet about it. ‘We’ve decided to end our marriage,’ Reynolds confirms to MTV News. TMZ first reported that the couple had split up and that things are “amicable” between them. As of now, neither has filed for divorce, according to the website, but they are living separately. “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” Reynolds said in a statement to MTV News. “We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.” Us Weekly reports that the split happened about two weeks ago and notes that “the big problem with their relationship is the distance,” a source said, adding, “They spent a lot of time apart when they are working. … She’s been unhappy for a while.” The pair married in 2008 in Canada after being engaged earlier that year, and while they remained relatively private, they have spoken about their love for each other. In the May issue of InStyle, Johansson opened up about being married to the “Green Lantern” star, saying, “I mean, you’re married, and suddenly you have your own family. There’s a nice comfort in that. That part of your life is certain, in a way.
