When Gwyneth Paltrow found out that Vanity Fair was planning to run a feature on her, she tried to put the kibosh on it fast. The question is why. “If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline,” she asked friends regarding Vanity Fair, encouraging them never to deal with the publication. The Vanity Fair piece will run , however, and the latest rumor regarding why the actress is so upset is her friendship with Florida billionaire Jeff Soffer. Paltrow, 41, who has two children with her husband, the Coldplay singer Chris Martin, is said to have been close to Soffer, 43, in 2008, in Miami. Soffer married Elle Macpherson, 49, the supermodel, earlier this year. Her spokesman has denied the report, however, saying any suggestion of an affair is “one big lie” and that Soffer is nothing more than a long-term friend. A source for the New York Post says VF has been asking “Miami society sources” about Paltrow’s trip to Soffer’s Fontainebleau Hotel back in 2008: “ Vanity Fair is asking if Gwyneth had an affair in 2008 when he reopened the Fontainebleau … he flew her in for the party, and she stayed at his house.” “Soffer reportedly gave Paltrow a private tour of the hotel, whisking her away in his Bentley, and the following day, she joined him on his yacht with Kate Hudson.” Her rep is on record denying it, and it’s unclear if it will even be a factor in the article when it’s released. But it still could be why she fears the story.
Congratulations! Denise Vasi tied the knot with her video director boo Anthony Mandler just last weekend, but our homies at Lossip got an exclusive with Vasi even before it all went down. Peep excerpts from their interview below: How do you envision your special day? I envision a lot of crying, honestly. I need to talk to my makeup artist and figure out how we can handle that [Laughs]. I am such a crier. We are getting married on a villa at a winery so it’s going to be a really romantic space. We are expecting a day full of love and peace. I have been planning for a little over a year, so I have picked every chair, cup, fork and napkin. We could have made it a big ceremony, but we decided to keep it to about 150 people. It is going to be very intimate with just our close family and friends. At the end of the day, we decided this wasn’t a party, but it was about us taking vows. I’m the first girl in my family to put on a dress, so this just means a lot to us. I want the day to be a great experience for my aunts, cousins, friends – everybody. How did you two meet? We met through work, but I can honestly say we became friends first. I was filming a music video for Lil’ Wayne, “How To Love,” and that’s how we met. I had two incredible days working with him. They didn’t end up using the video, but I’m so grateful for that project because I got to meet the love of my life. I never in a million years expected that I was going to meet up husband by taking that project, but I did. So we are thankful! What do you love most about Anthony? SMH @ this guy dry snitching after all these years… Jada Pinkett-Smith’s stepdad says he blames himself for some of the “many addictions” Jada recently revealed she had battled . Via Celebuzz reports : Jada Pinkett Smith’s recent admission that she battled “many addictions” may have shocked the world, but it only added more grief for the man who helped raise her. Warren A. Brown, now a successful attorney in Baltimore, Maryland, married Smith’s mom Adrienne Banfield Jones in 1979 when the actress was just 8-years-old. Although Jones has recently spoken openly about her drug abuse when her daughter was a child, this is the first time Smith’s stepdad has revealed what really went on under their roof. And he’s not proud of it. “At times I felt guilty,” Brown told Celebuzz. “I remember just the three of us in the house together and I knew I was high and so was her mother. “She didn’t know though, she was too young to recognize it. She didn’t see us doing anything. But I felt really bad because I thought this little girl deserves better than her parents (being) addicted.” Brown admits yayo was his drug of choice, but stopped short of revealing too much about his ex-wife’s substance abuse. “While we were both dealing with that, I was still going to court and she was going to school and working. She left it up to me to watch Jada,” he added. “It’s difficult to feel guilty. I don’t really blame myself, but I think about a couple things. I question that if I had not divorced myself from them, whether or not she would have fallen into addictions. And if I had been around I may have witnessed it and been able to pull her out of it.” Although he doesn’t know of any “addictions” Jada may have endured back then, he tries to remember only the good times they shared being “thick as thieves.” And there were many. “She was a sweet little girl. We were very close. It was me and Jada,” said Brown. “I was raising her while her mother was working and in college.” Brown recalls taking her on many “firsts,” including trips to New York City, Cape Cod, Virginia Beach and Jamaica. He even recalls a day trip to the movie theatre to see The Karate Kid, which brought back a flood of memories when he passed by a local theatre only to see her son Jaden on the marquee for the new installment in 2010. “We spent a lot of time together,” he said of their bond before he divorced her mother around 1986. “But once I separated from her and her mom, I quickly got remarried and my new wife asked that I distance myself from her. So it was a sudden departure for Jada, and it was always just the two of us.” He can’t help but think if he would have been there for her, she would have struggled less. “Anyone who knew of our relationship would not disagree that my estrangement with her may have played a part,” admitted Brown. “I tend to think that if I was there, I could have provided a positive role model. “I loved that little girl.” We hope he’s being genuine. It’s never too late to own up to your mistakes though — do you think he deserves some credit for that?
