WATCH: On The Road U.S. Teaser Burns, Burns, Burns

“… The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones that never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes ‘Awww! ‘” Sam Riley’s Sal paraphrases the famous Jack Kerouac line, but it works: Watch the jazzy, frenetic first U.S. trailer for Walter Salles’ On The Road and feel your pulse quicken. The adaptation, which also stars Kristen Stewart , Garrett Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, Terrence Howard, and more (phew!) debuted at Cannes but premieres at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival ahead of its December release. I’d count this as the most effective of the many trailers to debut so far; something about the pace and the energy and abandon glimpsed in snatches and quick edits ratchets up my excitement. Amy Adams’ Sweet Ginger Hotness

I don’t post pictures of Amy Adams all that often, mostly because I can never remember who she is, she’s on The Office right? Maybe she’s not, see what I mean? Anyhow, whoever she is, she was invited to Letterman last night and she decided to wear a tight dress to the affair. Always a good idea. I wouldn’t have expected such hotness from this one, I always thought she was far too cute for this kind of thing. Nice surprise.

Movie Nudity Report: The Master [VIDEO]

The Master (2012), Paul Thomas Anderson ‘s “it’s-totally-not-about-Scientology-I-swear” epic starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the charismatic leader of a cult-like group, Amy Adams as his doting wife, and Joaquin Phoenix as a conflicted disciple, is at the top of our list of movies to see this year, but not for the nudity. Sure, P.T.A. made Boogie Nights (1997), the movie that brought Roller Girl Heather Graham to our attention, but that movie was about porn . Of course it had a lot of skin. But a creepy 1950s period piece like The Master won’t be nude. Right? Wrong! Anderson was on hand for an exclusive 70mm preview screening of The Master at Chicago’s Music Box Theatre last night, and among the lucky attendees was our own Skin Skout. Our Skout reports that Amy Ferguson , whom you may remember from Garden State (2004) and Tanner Hall (2009), goes topless in the film, as does newcomer Jennifer Neala Page . But that’s nothing compared to a party scene 1 hour and 8 minutes into the film where Joaquin imagines an entire room full of women nude–and we get to see it all, including full frontal from Katie Boland. Talk about a Master -piece. Amy Adams Signs On for Some Bullshit [PIC]

Amy Adams has signed on to play a con artist’s mistress in American Bullshit , the new movie by Spanking the Monkey (1994) and Flirting with Disaster (1996) director David O. Russell . Amy was nominated for an Oscar for her role in The Fighter (2010), so it’s not really a surprise that she wants to work with Russell again. What is surprising is that title. Sure, working titles are used for movies all the time, and it might get changed to something like American Hornswoggle or Sleight of Hand Sally or The Con Wore Cream . But the title has already appeared uncensored in mainstream publications from The Chicago Tribune and The New York Times to Variety , and it certainly is an eye-catcher…not to mention really fun to type. Bullshit bullshit bullshit. Is America ready for “Bullshit” in their newspapers and on their theater marquees? If so, can the bare boobs really be that far behind? Heck, Somerhalder even defeated Justin Bieber for Choice Hottie, proving the power of his CW hit series. Or maybe just his smile. TRAILER: Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master — Is Scientology on Blast?

A war veteran (Joaquin Phoenix) with a “nervous condition” finds himself entrenched in a cult — if not a religious cult, at least a cult of personality — built around a charismatic leader (Philip Seymour Hoffman) in Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master . At long last, after a series of enigmatic teases, the first full trailer has hit the web offering more than just abstract , beguiling peeks at the rumored Scientology drama. So how much L. Ron Hubbard is there in Hoffman’s Master? The trailer alights on Phoenix’s Freddie Sutton as he wanders into the world of writer, doctor, nuclear physicist, and theoretical philosopher Lancaster Dodd, whose Hubbard-esque writings are glimpsed. (The way Dodd pens the dedication of his novel — “As a gift to Homo Sapiens” — is a bit of scripting brilliance that hints at Dodd’s grandiose, bombastic personality in just a single glance.) Things seem innocent enough as Dodd and his wife (Amy Adams) welcome his new charge into the fold. “We’ll urge you toward existence within a group, a society of family,” Dodd says. Like Scientology, this group promises self-improvement through community, though suspense kicks in as an accuser drops the c-word — “cult” — sending Dodd’s group onto a more sinister path. “The only way to defend ourselves is to attack,” Adams spits. It all certainly seems to be calling out Scientology and its founder, moreso the unflattering public image of its followers in the eyes of the outside world — organized faith-peddlers masking dubious claims behind their eccentric figurehead, desperate to protect themselves against scrutiny or worse. It might not seem so Scientology-esque if the tales of ex-members exiting the group weren’t so dramatic , or if Katie Holmes hadn’t reportedly been followed by a gang of Church members following her separation from Tom Cruise, the kind of crazy story that highlights the organization’s more bizarre characteristics. But does The Master really seem to be about Scientology at its core? Not much is apparent so far. The parallels are there – the author-turned-spiritual leader, the cult-like tendencies, the insular power dynamic within and without, not to mention the suggestion that it’s all a sham — and maybe Anderson’s taking an overt jab at the Church by using the bones of Scientology’s story to set up his own. But Anderson’s films explore larger human themes within narrow, specific worlds; it feels reductive to call The Master a Scientology movie just yet, though how much specific criticism can be drawn from the story remains to be seen. So forget the Scientology ties for a moment. This trailer looks fantastic, and though it hints at much more of the plot than we’ve seen previously, it’s still tantalizingly mysterious. Most surprising is Amy Adams, who commands attention as Dodd’s wife with glimpses of a mousy-to-Lady Macbethian arc throughout the trailer. Justin Timberlake On Deck For Clint Eastwood Baseball Flick

By Jocelyn Vena Justin Timberlake Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images Who needs a music career when you have a bustling movie career? Right, Justin Timberlake ? The singer has added another role to his growing docket of movies. He’s next set to star alongside screen legend Clint Eastwood in “Trouble With the Curve.” The guys will be joined by Amy Adams in the film, which revolves around an aging baseball scout (played by Eastwood) who goes on a road trip to Atlanta with his daughter (Adams) to check out a potential recruit. Timberlake is set to play Eastwood’s friend Johnny Flanagan, a former baseball player himself who is now a Yankees talent scout. Flanagan may also turn out to be Adams’ potential love interest. Eastwood will not be directing this project. That honor will go to his longtime producing partner, Robert Lorenz, making this his directorial debut, Variety reports. Before Timberlake hits the set for this project, he’s first slated to star in the Coen brothers’ next film, “Inside Llewyn Davis.” MTV News recently caught up with co-star Oscar Isaac, who shared his excitement about the project, which is set during the folk movement in New York City during the 1960’s. Though Timberlake won’t be singing alongside Eastwood, he will get the chance to croon in the Coen brothers flick. The music is being written and produced by the likes of the Punch Brothers, T-Bone Burnett and Marcus Mumford. “It’s folk from the ’60s — old songs passed down for many generations — but new takes on them,” Isaac said. “Obviously we have the hindsight of now and so we kind of revisit these old songs. They’re hopeful and beautiful and in contrast [to] the life of a folk singer, which is not very beautiful at all. It’s very drab and dire.
