Way back in January of 2007, we[Engadget] reported on the Strange family, who were suing Sacramento radio station KDND-FM for the wrongful death of Jennifer Strange, who was found dead in her home after competing in a contest to try to win a Nintendo Wii. The contest — “Hold Your Wee for a Wii” — involved seeing who could drink the most water without urinating, and Jennifer, who did not win, left the studio and later died

15-year-old girl gang rape victim is attacked for drinking

It was only a matter of time before the victim-blaming began in the Richmond High School gang rape case. You might think the brutality of the assault would pacify rape apologists — after all, a 15-year-old was attacked after the homecoming dance at her high school in Richmond, Calif., for more than two hours by several males while two-dozen bystanders looked on, some laughing and taking pictures; she was so severely beaten she had to be airlifted to the hospital in critical condition

Mayumi Heene Admits Balloon Boy Hoax

Mayumi Heene, wife of Richard Heene and mother of “Balloon Boy” Falcon Heene, has confessed to lying to authorities and that the now-infamous October 15 incident was “intentional as a hoax,” according to the Fort Collins Coloradoan . The mother of the six-year-old temporarily believed to be hurtling into the heavens in a 20-foot Mylar balloon signed an affidavit that it was all staged
