Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green Sing ‘Crazy’ In ‘The Voice’ Preview

Extended sneak peek of reality singing competition aired before Thursday’s ‘Tonight Show.’ By Gil Kaufman Christina Aguilera Photo: Isaac Brekken/ Getty Images It’s been almost impossible to avoid the avalanche of promotion for NBC’s new reality singing competition, “The Voice.” From splashy magazine ads to endless TV promos and interviews with the show’s four celebrity coaches, the show has been getting a full-court blitz in the lead-up to Tuesday night’s premiere. The biggest push to date occurred Thursday night, when a 12-minute teaser aired before “The Tonight Show,” highlighted by an all-star performance of the Gnarls Barkley smash “Crazy” by the four judges. With Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine on drums, country star Blake Shelton on guitar and Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green adding their pristine vocals to the song that made Green a superstar, each member of the quartet brought their patented brand of star power to the pop summit. Aguilera, of course, indulged in some of her R&B diva melisma, Green his deep soul growl, Shelton a bit of country grit and Levine some surprisingly sharp drum chops. The studio audience went crazy as host Carson Daly explained the unique concept behind the show, which will have the coaches listening with their backs turned to singers vying to be their prot

Lindsay Lohan: Robbery Perpetrator … or VICTIM?

Lindsay Lohan will soon be tried for grand theft. But you know who SHOULD be? Kamofle & Co. They marked that necklace up 300 percent! Highway robbery! The necklace piece Linds is accused of bogarting from Kamofie & Co. has been appraised at $850. Legally, this could actually be a significant sum. That price tag does not qualify for felony grand theft, which requires a value of $950 or more. Kamofie was trying to sell the necklace to Lindsay for $2,500. Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, will argue the D.A. should only be allowed to charge her client with a misdemeanor, based on the true value of the necklace. But even if Holley loses that argument, Kamofie’s owner already lost. After all, everyone knows jewelers mark stuff up, but 300 percent? That’s going to be a PR problem. Not to mention her selling the surveillance video. It’s hard to make an ungrateful and unprofessional brat like LiLo look like a victim or a sympathetic figure, but they have. Well, almost. Sadly it doesn’t look like things are looking up much either. RadarOnline is reporting that a digital storage card containing over 0ne hundred intimate photos of the star, her boyfriend Matt Rutler and her son Max, was discovered in a French hotel room stayed in by Aguilera and Rutler. RadarOnline is claiming to have been approached by a man trying to sell the images to them. “Dancing With The Stars” Promises Confrontation If Chris Brown Makes Appearance Ray Charles’ Mistress Brags About Stealing His Cash & Aborting Baby The photographs were taken between June and November 2010, and allegedly show Christina partying at Nicole Richie’s bachelorette party, on the beach playing with a blow-up doll, and in bed with boyfriend Matt Rutler, in which she mimics giving oral sex. Christina Aguilera Hit With Lawsuit

Suit alleges Sony Music paid wrong group to sample song for use in ‘Ain’t No Other Man.’ By Shawn Adler Christina Aguilera Photo: Denise Truscello/ WireImage Sorrows continue to come as battalions for pop superstar Christina Aguilera who, less than a week after getting arrested for public intoxication, may be back in hot water again due to a federal lawsuit filed against the singer and Sony Music by TufAmerica, according to TMZ.com . The lawsuit, filed in New York, claims Sony paid the wrong distributer for rights to the 1968 song “Hippy Skippy Moon Strut” by Dave Cortez and the Moon People, which Aguilera sampled for her Grammy winning hit “Ain’t No Other Man.” TufAmerica reportedly owns the rights to the song, which Sony arranged to sample through deals with Condigo Mysic and the Clyde Otis Music Group. TufAmerica is seeking to nullify other publishers’ claims to the rights, as well as punitive damages. The lawsuit comes at the tail end of a rough year for the 30-year-old diva, which began with the poor sales of her album Bionic and continued with a canceled U.S. tour , a flop in her big-screen debut “Burlesque” and a divorce from her husband Jordan Bratman . Aguilera’s woes got worse in 2011, with a now infamous flub of the National Anthem during the Super Bowl pre-game show, and an arrest on March 1 for public intoxication . “She was not capable of taking care of herself. … She was incapacitated, not belligerent, but just intoxicated,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department spokesperson Steve Whitmore said of the arrest in a press conference. Aguilera will not be prosecuted for the misdemeanor offence. “Ain’t No Other Man” was the lead single on Aguilera’s third album Back to Basics. For it, Aguilera won the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Related Artists Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera To Be Judge On ‘The Voice’

Aguilera joins panelists Cee Lo and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine on reality singing competition. By Aly Semigran Christina Aguilera Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/ Getty Images Just one day after her arrest on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication , Christina Aguilera is making headlines again, only this time for more favorable reasons. The singer has officially signed on to be a celebrity judge for NBC’s upcoming talent competition “The Voice.” Billboard reported on Wednesday (March 2) that the Grammy winner will join host Carson Daly and fellow judges Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine on the “American Idol”-style program. “I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it. To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms,” Aguilera said in a statement. “I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to ‘The Voice’.” Aguilera has suffered a series of personal and professional setbacks recently. Aside from Tuesday’s arrest, the 30-year-old is in the midst of a very public divorce from husband Jordan Bratman. Last month, the pop singer tripped on the Grammy stage following an all-star tribute to Aretha Franklin, and that was just days after she flubbed the words to the national anthem during the Super Bowl . So word of her signing on to “The Voice,” which premieres on April 26 on NBC, is probably welcome good news for Aguilera. Series creator and go-to reality producer Mark Burnett (“Survivor,” “The Apprentice”) said he always had his sights set on the “Burlesque” star. “When I decided to produce ‘The Voice,’ I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera,” Burnett said in the statement, adding, “Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of ‘The Voice’.” Will you tune in for “The Voice” now that Christina Aguilera has signed on to be a judge? Tell us in the comments! Related Artists Christina Aguilera
