World Water Day: Make Your Voice Heard!

World Water Day will be held on March 22. To mark the date, the Pulitzer Center is teaming up with the writers’ site Helium and some of the world’s most influential water advocates and NGOs to present a World Water Day writing contest. We want to hear your voices on the world’s greatest public health crisis: Inaccessibility to safe water. Some 1.1 billion people lack reliable access to safe water that is free from disease and industrial waste. And 2.6 billion do not have access to adequate sanitation facilities. Approximately 4,500 people die everyday from waterborne diseases – more than from HIV-AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis combined. These are among the issues addressed in Downstream, the Pulitzer Center’s interactive web portal dedicated to global water issues. To learn more about these water-related issues, you can also view Water Wars here on Current. Produced by the Common Language Project in collaboration with the Pulitzer Center, Water Wars are multimedia reports that focus on water scarcity and climate change in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. Now, the Pulitzer Center is seeking to spur public debate by asking: Inadequate access to safe water and sanitation claims 4,500 lives a day. What should we do about it? This is an opportunity to have your ideas – and solutions! – showcased to thousands of readers. To submit your essay visit the Pulitzer Center website. All entries will be shown on the Helium and Pulitzer Center sites. The winner, selected from the 10 entries judged best by the Helium community, will receive a Pulitzer Center Citizen Journalist Award. The deadline for the World Water Day Writing Contest is Wednesday March 31. The Pulitzer Center Citizen Journalist Award for this contest will be announced on Friday April 9. added by: PulitzerCenter

‘American Idol’ Judge Kara DioGuardi Talks Replacing Simon Cowell

‘It’s not an easy job,’ she says of judging the televised talent show. By Ryan J. Downey Kara DioGuardi Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images BEVERLY HILLS, California — The Rocket Man in the judge’s seat? At Elton John’s annual Oscars viewing party, Kara DioGuardi weighed in on rumors that the big party’s legendary host may replace Simon Cowell on “American Idol” next season. “It would be a very interesting replacement,” she told MTV News. “[Elton] is somebody who’s been wildly successful in music, who obviously knows a star when he sees one.” Reps for John (and the show) have denied that any specific talks have taken place; DioGuardi isn’t sure who’ll be joining her, Randy and Ellen when Cowell exits next year , but she’s optimistic about the changes ahead. “This is going to be a really interesting year when they pick that person, because they have to have music knowledge but they also have to be a star. It’s not an easy job,” added DioGuardi, who herself just joined the show last season. “I know people at home, they say, ‘Aw, that person sucked or ‘She’s great,’ and you can do it at home to your TV but once the camera’s on you, it’s like, ‘Oooh…’ ” DioGuardi will be in a great position to offer the new judge advice. It took her entire season to feel like she had found her voice on the show, so she’ll have plenty of pointers for whomever joins the show for Season 10. “I was not really happy about my performance last year. I was just getting used to being on television. I was so nervous and scared. I wasn’t really me. I wasn’t as focused and connected with the kids because I was going through my own fear of being on television. And this year, I kind of let go and I’m much more me. I can be more in tune with what they’re doing and worry about them and not worry about ‘Oh my god the camera is going to be on me in five minutes.’ ” And now? “I felt much better about this year.” Despite her newfound fame as a judge on one of the most popular television shows in history, DioGuardi is still surprised to be invited to major Hollywood events. “This one I was shocked to get an invite to,” she said of John’s event at the Pacific Design Center, a benefit for his AIDS awareness foundation, where Cowell was also in attendance alongside stars like Will.I.Am, Jennifer Hudson and Slash. “Because I don’t really consider myself a celebrity. I still consider myself a songwriter. “I’m lucky to be on that show. I mean, it’s opened up a whole new world to me and for me and for that I’m really appreciative — but I know my job is to judge. That’s really it.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. Christina Hendricks’ Cleavage Dressed To Impress

Earlier I posted pictures of Mariah Carey’s fat cleavage saying it was sloppy and that it wasn’t being presented in the best light. THIS is how you showcase big fat cleavage. Christina Hendricks is by far the queen of presenting oversized boobies in the most tasteful and hottest manner possible, here she is at the 18th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party launching pre-teen boys everywhere directly into puberty at a mere glance. I don’t know how she can breathe with those things stuffed in there, and I don’t really care, as long as she keeps doing it we’re good. Enjoy.

Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper Get Goofy For MAC AIDS Fund

Pop stars show playful sides in behind-the-scenes photos for Viva Glam campaign in new issue of V magazine. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga at her MAC photo shoot Photo: Ellen von Unwerth Lady Gaga joined forces with Cyndi Lauper last spring to take colorful, fun photos for the MAC AIDS Fund’s Viva Glam campaign, which donates 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of lipstick and lip gloss to the global fight against AIDS and HIV. The behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot will be featured in the new issue of V magazine which hits newsstands next month. In the issue, Gaga appears nearly nude in a makeup chair as she preps herself to pose with Lauper in photos that were shot by famed photographer Ellen von Unwerth, who also shot Rihanna for her Rated R cover. “It’s quite awkward to be talking about my passion about the AIDS crisis and the gay community while doing my makeup but … Viva Glam!” Gaga says in the issue. One photo shows Lauper in a giant, poofy platinum-blond wig blowing kisses, and both Lauper and Gaga appear in another photo in satin robes goofing around in front of a giant makeup mirror. “When MAC started it was a place where people who were highly creative and didn’t fit in could feel comfortable working,” the pop star says. “And that’s still the attitude. We can be incredibly creative and feel like we’re making a difference.” MTV News caught up with the ladies earlier this month as they promoted the campaign. Gaga said that she feels these lipsticks are a way for women to empower themselves. “We want women to feel strong and feel strong enough that they can remember to protect themselves. To have this lipstick as a reminder in your purse, that when your man is laying naked in bed, you go into the bathroom, you put your lipstick on, and you bring a condom out with you,” Gaga said. “There are no exceptions. … This idea of negotiation before intercourse is this kind of ridiculous thing in the age that we’re living in. I would say never, but you must be in a loving, monogamous relationship or married. We’re not in an age when you can have irresponsible, condom-less sex.” Related Photos Lady Gaga And Cyndi Lauper At Their MAC ‘Viva Glam’ Photo Shoot Related Artists Lady Gaga Cyndi Lauper

Angelina Jolie is a Lost Slut of the Day

Remember when Angelina Jolie was a hot, dark, almost gothic whore who used to show off her hot body, milk her her raw sexuality for all it was worth, leaving us with empty testicles and a dream that her next movie she’ll show nipple. You know the bitch who played a dyke with AIDS in GIA, who made out with her brother with tongue, who carried a vile of blood and talked about how much she loved fucking, who was really just a fucking gimmick who left all that good shit behind to save the world and start a fucking orphanage and pretend she’s a fucking nun sent from God to care for every third world child , totally taking away from the leather clad, thick lipped slut she made us think she was and based her whole career on… So for every kid she adopts or provides clean water for, I see a motherfucker who robbed me of pussy I wanted to fuck, and who turned her into some “good” person you don’t want to fuck up the ass before cumming in her pussy cuz she’s so wild she doesn’t care about UTIs, because you don’t want to taint the purity that drips off her refined, luxurious clothes….The whole thing is pretty fucking depressing to me and here she is back on set, but instead of wearing PVC and showing off tit, she’s dressed like a fuckin’ lady…very fucking annoying…. Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper Pucker Up For MAC’s Viva Glam Lipstick

The pop divas launch their own lipsticks in the line that raises money for HIV/AIDS. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Kristian Dowling/ Getty Images It seems like a match made in pop-music heaven: Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper. The two flashy blondes aren’t collaborating musically, however; they’re appearing together in MAC’s new Viva Glam campaign and lending their names to new lipsticks that benefit the MAC AIDS fund . The Viva Glam Cyndi and Viva Glam Gaga lipsticks will be available on March 18 and will retail for $14.00. This Wednesday both Gaga and Lauper will appear on “Good Morning America” and the “Today” show to promote the lipstick and the cause, according to MusicFascination.com . The ladies also look appropriately glamorous in “From Our Lips” ads, which were shot by Ellen Von Unwerth and are set to appear in magazines later this month, Idolator.com reported. As Gaga and Lauper pose like adorable retro pinup girls, one ad reads, “You know you’ve got a sexy voice. Use it! Let’s talk about how to keep your love life safer, seductive and satisfying. Just between us girls!” Gaga and Lauper join a list of famous singers who have worked on the Viva Glam campaign. Fergie, Christina Aguilera, Eve, Mary J. Blige and Lil’ Kim have all helped sell the lipstick line, which MAC started in 1994, donating every dollar of its sales to help men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS.
