Naomi always gets her way. British Airways Ends Naomi Campbell Ban British Airways should be careful. Naomi is still salty behid Vlad dropping her like a bad habit for his rice cake boo thang. Naomi might throw more than a cellphone at them this time around. According to Mail Online Naomi Campbell is back on board British Airways – five years after she was arrested for being abusive on a flight and barred from the airline. The decision to allow the supermodel to return comes despite her accusing BA staff of racism, and assaulting police officers as they hauled her from the aircraft. The Mail on Sunday understands that some BA workers are upset by the decision to allow her on flights – including a First Class flight to Milan on May 3 this year. Staff are said to feel the ban should have been maintained, and accused bosses of giving the model ‘special treatment’ because of her wealth and fame. Ms Campbell, 43, boarded the Milan flight at Heathrow Airport in London accompanied by the airline’s special services staff who give VIP treatment to First Class fliers. An insider said: ‘Naomi upset a lot of staff, so to have her back on BA flights feels like a bit of a kick in the teeth. ‘The company should be taking a hard line against people who are abusive or aggressive – whether they are rich and famous or not.’ Ms Campbell was banned after a row over her luggage at Heathrow Airport in 2008. Naomi has got to learn to control her temper. Maybe Vlad said, “I can’t deal with this crazy chick” and chucked the deuces.
Flight Aborted Due To Pilot Preoccupied With Cell Phone Why in the hell was this pilot texting anyway???? Confused Jetstar pilots forgot to lower the wheels and had to abort a landing in Singapore just 150 metres above the ground, after the captain became distracted by his mobile phone, an investigation has found. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau report on the May 27, 2010 incident on Flight JQ57, from Darwin to Singapore, reconstructed a scene of cockpit chaos. The captain, of more than 13,000 hours flying experience, was distracted by incoming text messages on his phone, while the first officer, of more than 4000 hours experience, was probably fatigued, the report said. The pair had lost their “situational awareness”, leading to poor decision-making and hampered communications, investigators found. The problems aboard JQ57 began when the co-pilot, the first officer, switched off the autopilot on the 220-seat Airbus A320 to make preparations to land. Somewhere between 2500 feet and 2000 feet, the captain’s mobile phone started beeping with incoming text messages, and the captain twice did not respond to the co-pilot’s requests. The co-pilot looked over and saw the captain “preoccupied with his mobile phone”, investigators said. The captain told investigators he was trying to unlock the phone to turn it off, after having forgotten to do so before take-off. At 1000 feet, the co-pilot scanned the instruments and felt “something was not quite right” but could not spot what it was. At this stage the captain still did not realise the landing gear had not been lowered, and neither pilot went through their landing checklist. At 720 feet, a cockpit alert flashed and sounded to warn that the wheels still hadn’t been lowered. At 650 feet, the captain moved the undercarriage lever “instinctively” but then a “too low” ground-warning alarm sounded as the plane sunk through 500 feet, indicating the landing gear was not fully extended and locked. The co-pilot was confused by the captain’s action in lowering the wheels, as he was getting ready to do quite the opposite — to abort the landing and re-ascend to the skies, investigators said. Neither spoke to each other about their intentions. At 392 feet, the crew aborted the landing and powered up the thrust. At this time the pilots had lost track of their altitude, thinking they were much higher, at about 800 feet. Jetstar said it had incorporated the the lessons learned from the incident in its pilot training. “Pilot distraction meant all the landing checklist items weren’t completed before the aircraft passed an altitude of 500 feet, at which point a go-around was required under our operating procedures,” said Jetstar’s Chief Pilot, Captain Mark Rindfleish. “The combination of factors on JQ57 has provided new learnings and the opportunity to add to these safeguards, which we take very seriously.” Changes introduced included completing landing checklists before 1000 feet and a reminder to pilots to ensure their mobile phones are switched off before take-off, he said. Last time we checked all electronics including cellphones must be in the “off” position while landing! Source More On Bossip! ‘We Found Love’ singer will join band for ‘Princess of China.’ By Gil Kaufman Rihanna Photo: WireImage Rihanna and Coldplay will perform live together for the first time on February 12 when they take the stage at the 54th annual Grammy Awards for the televised debut of their Mylo Xyloto collaboration, “Princess of China.” Rihanna, nominated for four Grammys this year, broke the news on Twitter , writing, “My friends @ColdPlay and I will be sharing the stage for a performance at this years Annual Grammy Awards!” A short time later she added, “WE reached 2BILLION views on @youtube !!! THANK U!!! I’m in a great mood, and I got some GREAT NEWS!!! PRINCESS OF CHINA #GRAMMYS2012.” The show, which will be hosted by rapper LL Cool J , will also feature a performance by rock icon Paul McCartney, who will join a lineup that already includes Grammy nominees Foo Fighters, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Marks, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Jason Aldean. At the time Xyloto was released , Coldplay singer Chris Martin explained that the decision to invite another voice into the studio was made because of the unusual story arc of the band’s Grammy-nominated album. “Her bit on our record is my favorite bit. … When the song came out, it sort of asked for her to be on it. And I think at this point, we have nothing to lose, and so we’ve been trying some new things and trying to break down the perceived boundaries between different types of music,” Martin told MTV News. “Our new record is sort of a story; it’s not quite a musical, but it’s dangerously close. There’s a bit of a love-story thread, so we really needed someone to sing even higher than me,” Martin said. “[It’s] hard, but very possible. You need to be a female really. For all [drummer] Will [Champion]’s good intentions, he [can’t do it] … “… So, in like a dream scenario, we had a song that I’d secretly kind of written to see if Rihanna would want to sing it,” Martin continued. “And then the rest of the band wanted to keep it, so we came up with the idea of asking her to sing it with us, and, to our great surprise, she said OK.” More Grammy performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks. ‘I deeply apologize to the families of the victims.’ By Gil Kaufman Mark Wahlberg Photo: FilmMagic After a controversial interview in the February issue of Men’s Journal magazine went viral this week, “Contraband” star Mark Wahlberg issued an apology on Wednesday for suggesting that he might have changed the course of history on the day of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. In the interview, Wahlberg — who was scheduled to be on the flight from Boston to Los Angeles that morning which ended up crashing into one of the World Trade Center towers — said that if he had been there things might have turned out differently. “If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did,” said Wahlberg, 40, who ended up taking a private charter plane earlier in the week and avoiding the flight that was overtaken by terrorists. “There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.'” Excerpts for the interview made their way online on Wednesday and TMZ reported that the Deena Burnett-Bailey, the widow of a 9/11 victim who was killed on United Airlines flight 93 when it crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania after terrorists tried to divert it to Washington, D.C., called the comments “disrespectful.” A short time later, Wahlberg issued his apology. “To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with, and to suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible,” said Wahlberg in a statement. Burnett-Bailey’s husband called her from the flight that was overtaken by four al Qeada terrorists and later crashed after several passengers tried to regain control of the aircraft. “I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention.” Related Videos MTV Rough Cut: Mark Wahlberg
This is sad sad: A toddler died this afternoon after he was run over by a riding lawnmower operated by his grandmother. Paramedics and police officers were called to 4150 Navajo Lane at 11:21 a.m. According to the Titusville Police Department, the 19-month-old boy was riding on a trailer attached to the lawnmower. He fell and suffered a head injury. The mower’s blades were engaged at the time of the incident outside the grandmother’s house, detectives said. “He was riding on the lawnmower with Grandma and somehow fell off and was run over,” said Battalion Chief Scott Gaenicke of Titusville Fire & Emergency Services. “We believe the blades of the lawnmower struck the child.” Helicopter operators planned to take the child to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, but the boy’s condition deteriorated rapidly, and the aircraft was diverted to Parrish Medical Center. The toddler died early this afternoon. Titusville police Detective Allen Davies said investigators were trying to figure out how the boy fell. Davies would not release the names of the people involved. “There’s always a possibility” of criminal charges, Davies said. “It will depend on the information we get.” Source More On Bossip! Uh Oh! Bobby just can’t get right… Bobby Brown caused a ruckus at DJ Cassidy’s 30th birthday party on the USS Intrepid by pulling a waitress’s hair when she walked away from him as they were talking. R&B bad-boy Brown got into a tangle with the catering staffer before he performed with his ’80s band New Edition at Cassidy’s celebrity-packed birthday bash onboard the aircraft carrier Wednesday night. A source told us, “During the band’s sound check earlier that evening, Bobby was talking to one of the waitresses, but she walked away from the conversation before he was finished talking. Then Bobby pulled her ponytail. She complained to her bosses, and Intrepid security called event organizers.” Of course there is always two sides to every story, so: A representative for New Edition tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, “He made it in time for the gig, and the band got dressed as fast as they could.” The rep also dismissed rumours Brown got himself into trouble by pulling a waitress’ hair at the party, adding, “It wasn’t anything detrimental or anything. He did it in a playful way and it was fine. It was a misunderstanding. Everything was fine; no one had any issues.” Word son? You just gonna go caveman on the broad though? SMH…sh*t ain’t cool bruh-bruh. Now knowing Bobby’s past history which side of the story do YOU believe?? Source
In the world of The Simpsons, Fox News' well-known “fair and balanced” motto has been replaced. On Sunday's episode of the long-running cartoon series, a Fox News helicopter carrying a network executive reads, “Fox News: Not Racists, But #1 With Racists.” After the Fox News executive steps out of the helicopter into the head of the Statue of Liberty, the aircraft goes into a tailspin and crashes. The pilot can be heard saying, “It's not fair, we're unbalanced.” The executive conducts a secret meeting where his team plans a new health care scare that will send their ratings through the roof. Gawker calls The Simpsons episode one of the most anti-Republican ever. At one point in the episode, the likeness of former Vice President Dick Cheney laments the lack of terrorist attacks on America. The creators of the popular television show may cause for concern. Just last week, a Fox News anchor effectively said that all Hispanics were illegal aliens. The anchor, Trace Gallagher, claimed that a new study has shown 100,000 illegal aliens have left Arizona since the passage of a draconian new law, SB 1070, that allows police to check the immigration status of anyone they pull over. “The way they got the numbers is they crunched them using the current US population survey and then they had numbers from the Mexican government, is what they came up with, is that 100,000 illegals have left Arizona — there are 100,000 illegals fewer before SB 1070 was ever talked about,” Gallagher said. Only that's not what the study says. The study actually says that the immigration law in Arizona has likely provoked the voluntary departure of 100,000 Hispanics from the southern US state.
