We have a quick update on the status of Miranda Cosgrove, following that singer’s scary bus accident late last week. Cosgrove was spotted in Los Angeles International Airport today, being wheeled through the terminal in a cast. Among other injuries, she suffered a broken angle on Thursday morning, when her tour bus ran into a tractor-trailer. The artist is expected to make a full recovery, though she has placed her tour on indefinite hold. “Thank u so much for all your messages. They mean so much to me,” Miranda after the crash. “Yesterday was extremely scary & I’m just so happy everyone’s gonna be okay.” Cosgrove’s mother also suffered a few injuries, while the bus driver – whose tactics Miranda has credited for saving her life – was airlifted away from the scene and placed in critical condition. My best friend Jeanette and I had been talking about going to one of Justin’s My World Tour concerts. Since we live in Norway, we obviously decided to go to ask if we can go to Denmark because that was the closest place. The day we were going to ask our parents, we went straight to Jeanette’s house after school. We were there for a while to plan how we were going to ask them. We came up with many key points why they should let us go. I went home to ask my parents while Jeanette was going to ask hers. When I came home I did my all of my home work, cleaned my room and everything. I was sitting on the computer and called my mom and dad to come in. I clicked on the tour dates and started to come up with all the reasons why they should let me go. They just looked at each other and said yes. I thought they were kidding because that is so unlike them just to say yes. We ended up going to Milan instead of Denmark but that was totally fine with us! We bought the tickets and I ran down to Jeantte’s house, we we’re so happy jumping around and started planning our trip, even though it was 6 months until we we’re going to leave. Finally on April 8th we left for Milan. The concert was the next day on the 9th. When we arrived to Milan we went shopping. We couldn’t sleep that night, we were so exited for the concert, we were listning to his songs and jumping around. And deciding what to wear to the concert. The day of the concert, we understood we were going to see THE Justin Bieber. The concert was so much fun, he did a really great performance. Jeanette had been walking around the whole trip saying, ”I have this crazy feeling about us bumping into Justin”. I was like, ”Yeah sure…” she just answered ”Never Say Never!”. So we we’re going to leave and on our way to the airport, and I thought.. yeah sure we’re going to ”bump” into him now, we’re leaving in 2 hours. We checked in and our dads went to pay for something. I then saw a man, and I thought, ”Wow! He looks just like Dan Kanter!” When he got closer, I saw that it was him, I was shocked and I said, ”Hey, how are you?” and he answered ”I’m good, how about you?” ”I’m fine thank you”. My best friend who was standing right next to me didn’t pay attention because she thought it was just a creepy Italian dude trying to flirt with me! When he walked away, I was like, ”Did you see who that was!?” ”Umm… No?” ”It was Dan Kanter!!!” and she was like ”What?! Where!? When!?”, it was then all the feelings came, because we knew we we’re so close to Justin. So later on we decided to ask for a picture but we saw he was eating therefore we waited to ask for a picture. When he was done, we got a picture together and he also gave us one of his guitar pick’s. Behind him we saw Ryan Good, of course we had to ask for a picture with him too. My dad, Jeanette and her dad went into a store in the airport, while I was waiting outside. I sat on the floor there just watching films from the concert the day before on my camera. When I was looking around I saw Kenny! Then I saw a guy with a cap and sunglasses on, that walked just like Justin (you know his swag walk). My jaw was literally dropping, my heart started beating really fast, so fast I thought it was bad for my health. I ran into the store to get Jeanette, I was trying to calm myself down because I seriously couldn’t breathe. Jeanette told me to calm down and I all I could say was ”Justin Bieber” and point, she was like ”Yeah sure Frida” because it is really typical me and be joking about things like that. Then she saw I was serious, she was just like, ”Frida where is he?”. I saw that Justin was in a watch store so I ran to him and got my pokerface on. “Hi Justin!” Justin said, “Hey beautiful” (at that point I thought I was going to faint! Jeanette came later because I ran so fast). We asked for a picture and we took it and said bye. We walked from there just saying, “OMG OMG OMG”, so when he couldn’t see us we ran through all the people in the store to our dad’s screaming! They didn’t understand a thing. Then we saw Alfredo in the front and with the rest of the crew and Justin. We walked around in the store and told eachother to pretend like nothing. Then Justin said, ”Bye girls nice to meet you!” We were just looking at him and waving ”Bye Justin!” . I just stood there staring at him and noticed I haven’t hugged him! I automatically started walking after him into the private lounge. Jeanette was like, ”Where are you going!?” ”I forgot to hug him!” ”Oh me too!”. Kenny said something to us but we didn’t pay attention (sorry Kenny). We got a hug (he smelled so good oh my god!) and talked. This is what we talked about. Justin: So… where are you guys going? Me: We’re going back to Norway we came to see your concert. Justin: Wow…Did you enjoy it? Us: Yes off course! Justin: That’s nice. But sorry guys I gotta go now! Us: Ok bye! We love you! Justin: Bye! Love you too! We also met some of his dancers and DJ Tay James because they had the gate right next to us. This was the best day of our life April 10th. This is now 3 months ago I’m still in shock. ‘American Idol’ finalist promises MTV News upcoming debut will have ‘edgy, fun, soulful’ songs with assists from star producers. By Gil Kaufman Pia Toscano Photo: FOX When people say they’ve been waiting their whole life for a particular moment, Pia Toscano knows exactly what they mean. The 22-year-old, ninth-place finisher on season 10’s “American Idol” has been grinding away at her musical dream since she was 13, and after all those years of rejection and false starts, she’s finally feeling like things are going her way. “I can’t believe it, I really can’t believe it,” she told MTV News of her rebound from a disappointing finish on her fifth try at “Idol.” She’s now signed to a major-label deal with Interscope Records and has booked studio time with some of the most sought-after producers in the business. Though her country/pop-leaning first single, breakup tune “This Time,” seems like it encroaches a bit on the territory of teen “Idol” runner-up Lauren Alaina and maybe even winner Scotty McCreery, Toscano promises that’s not the direction she’s headed. “That song sounds kind of country, but [the album’s] not just one thing, not pop or R&B,” she said while making her way through the airport on the way to an Idols Live! tour date. “It will be pop with an R&B influence, with an edge. It will be soulful and powerful.” Had she not been bumped from the competition so shockingly early , Toscano said viewers would have realized that she had much more in her bag of tricks than the power ballads she sang on the show. “It’s funny, you’re labeled as one thing on the show … and ‘American Idol’ opened up tons of doors for me and allowed me the opportunity to be signed to Interscope, but before I got on there, I was writing my own stuff and not doing a lot of ballads,” she said, explaining that those diva numbers were what best suited her vocally on the show. And not only does she not blame the audience for seeming to get it wrong by booting her, Toscano said her early exit may have been a blessing in disguise. “If I had made it a week further, I may not have gotten signed by Interscope,” she said. “I got [to] working immediately, doing demos for [Interscope boss] Jimmy [Iovine] and I had to work for him to pick me up and sign me.” Contrary to some early erroneous reports, Toscano said she was not signed to Interscope immediately, but had to get in the studio and prove herself. Once Iovine signed off, Toscano said the dream really began to take shape as she got to work with songwriter Ester Dean, who wrote “This Time,” after giving the world such hits as Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” and “S&M” and Nicki Minaj’s “Superbass.” But more important, Toscano has logged studio time with two producers she’s dreamed of working with for years. ‘We was just chilling,’ C-Smoove tells ‘RapFix Live’ of being in the studio with M-Bone the day he was killed. The remaining members of the group — Yung, C-Smoove and JayAre — hit MTV News’ “Rap Fix Live” on Wednesday (July 13) and, after refuting rumors that they were involved in M-Bone’s death, talked about the last time they each spoke to their late friend. “We was talking about shoes. I just bought the Cool Greys, the Jordans,” Yung said of his last conversation with M-Bone. “He was like, ‘Man, I can’t find those nowhere, let me buy them from you.’ And I just had bought ’em, and I was like, ‘Nah.’ And [then], I was like, ‘You know what? I don’t even want them.’ But then I was like, ‘No, but I do.’ And then he was like, ‘Fine, I’m just going to go buy them myself.’ So what he did was he went to the store and he bought them and he took a picture of them [and sent it to all of us]. I was like, ‘It’s all good, though. We all got them, so we a team, you feel me?’ I used to tell him that all the time, I used to be like, ‘Yo, we a team, B.’ ” JayAre was playing a video game with his fallen friend the last he saw him alive. “I think the last time we talked, we was playing [NBA 2K11] or something,” JayAre said. “I always got the Lakers, he played with the Heat. He was a Heat fan. I think he won that game that time.” C-Smoove said, “Last time I talked to Bone, he was like, ‘Hey, is Kickback jumping?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, man, we up here.’ He was like, ‘I’m on my way.’ Came to the studio; he came comfortable man — basketball shorts, little Heat jacket, some Nikes or something — he wasn’t even trying to impress nobody. He was just up there chilling in his little giddy-up. He just woke up, drove to the studio. We was just chilling. “And that’s right before he went to the store, man,” Smoove recalled. M-Bone was shot in his car on La Brea Avenue, not far from the Inglewood, California spot Airport Liquor and Groceries. “That was the last time I talked to him.” Smoove’s comment sparked a particularly fond memory for another member of the group. “I remember that whole day too,” Yung said. “I remember we all was at Smoove’s house for his birthday. [M-Bone] pulled up on the side. We all sitting in the cars and stuff, we got girls out there, ’cause we always got girls somewhere. It’s like 20 people, [and] like 19 of them was girls. So we out there, and Bone, he wasn’t there. And he just pulled up in his Camaro and he was like, ‘What’s going on here?!’ I was like, ‘Don’t worry about it; either you with us or you ain’t.’ And he was like, ‘I’m with you.’ So he parked and hopped in the car and then he was with us.” M-Bone’s murder remains unsolved. Who knew TURTLES were about that life too??? Sex-crazed turtles shut down a runway at Kennedy Airport this morning as they crawled across the tarmac heading for their seasonal breeding grounds. Runway 4L was shut down starting about 9:30 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said. Port Authority workers were still working an hour later to move the slowpokes to safer ground. “We may have a few delays, but nothing significant,” said FAA spokeswoman Arlene Salac. JetBlue reported the turtle incursion on Twitter around 9:40 a.m. “Running over turtles is not healthy for them nor is it good for our tires,” the airline said. “Be advised 30 feet into the takeoff roll, left side of the centerline, there’s another turtle,” called the pilot of American Airlines Flight 1009, a Boeing 767 that had just taken off for the Dominican Republic. “There’s another one on the runway?” asked the controller. “Uh, well he was there,” the pilot said as the plane climbed into the air. Turtles also delayed several flights earlier this week. The turtle invasion is an annual event at Kennedy. They’re in the middle of their spawning season, when the females crawl out of Jamaica Bay onto the runway in search of higher ground to lay their eggs. “The sandy spot on the other side of Runway 4L is ideal for egg laying,” PA spokesman John Kelly said. “It is a naturally provided turtle maternity ward. When your airport is virtually surrounded by water, your neighbors sometimes come in the hard shell variety.” In July 2009, a runway at JFK was shut down briefly after at least 78 turtles emerged from nearby Jamaica Bay and crawled onto the tarmac.
