…African-American entrepreneur Michelle Timberlake-Jackson is taking a bite out of the industry. Her 25-year-old Marjorie’s Beef Jerky Inc. produces a selection of beef jerky made from fine cuts of beef. Marjorie’s Beef Jerky Inc. markets, distributes, and sells a beef jerky brand that features six flavors (Original, Hot & Spicy, Sweet & Spicy, Cracked Pepper, Teriyaki and Burnout). The products are also MSG free and are made only with natural ingredients. When Timberlake started her company in 1991 she was (and still is) an 18-wheeler truck driver. Unfortunately she was in a major truck driving accident in 1991 and, concerned about her financial future, she decided to start a beef jerky company, named after her late mother Marjorie Leona Dawson. “My mother was my number one beef jerky fan. In 2010, she told me, ‘Michelle it’s time for you to put your beef jerky through.
